I got scammed by Donating member 'alwaysmining' so thats another one for your list (unless you included him in your estimate). It seems like a way to buy credibility (admittedly I was in the wrong for trusting a complete stranger) and a way for them to easily scam their 10btc back.

If I were a bad, dishonest fraudster or scammer I wouldn't dream of doing it for as pathetic and paltry sum as £700 so I often naïvely assume nobody else would either, but of course I might be overestimating other people's intelligence and appreciation of risk-reward-ratio concept a good deal of the time.

Greed is a hell of a drug.

Hi
Been 48 hours since I transferred £100 to him for a purchase of BTC. I'm assuming I won't be getting my BTC, I was originally going to purchase £200 worth, just glad I didn't.

Farmacist

I sent £255.50 for 35 BTC on Saturday 24th Nov and received the coins 5 hours later.  There was a delay due to him using MtGox as his wallet, apparently.

It seems I was one of the last to receive coins, and don't understand why he would send me the 35 BTC if he was intending to run off.

The amounts owing all seem to be less than 35 BTC.  It doesn't make sense to me that he would honour the big order and run off with the smaller ones.  But it is odd that he's no longer responding to PMs or on his thread.

The combined total amount not paid for now is well in excess of 35BTC (mine was 30BTC alone). I imagine he had a swell of orders from all of us at once and then, after seeing the total he could make (I'd estimate we're looking close to £700 here - maybe more) for 'free' without giving the BTC he saw the opportunity as too good to miss. He's been on the forums multiple times since and hasn't responded to anyones PMs.

Bitcoin.info offer a really nice service. Go check them out. They're a bit more expensive (approx £0.50 per coin) than this seller but I'm uncertain this seller can be trusted with so many people complaining about not receiving funds.
Do you mean blockchain.info?

Yeah sorry I meant blockchain.info. My bad  Grin

Hmm, whats the next course of action now? Wait or ?

I will be making a thread on the 'Scammers' section during my lunch break tomorrow describing these events and I'd invite anyone else affected to also post there. I will also be looking down all possible legal avenues in order to reclaim my funds and I will be happy to share with anybody the steps needed to do that.

I'm really hoping it doesn't come to that though and that this is one big misunderstanding.  Smiley

Don't worry you're not jumping the gun at all. Several of us haven't been paid now and have had our PM's ignored whilst the seller has been active on the website.

I'd be cautious at the moment. I don't like to dirty the reputation of what appears to be a reputable guy but several people are already waiting for Alwaysmining to send BTC. I'd fully recommend you hold off the moment.

Thanks. Looks odd. Hope it's just a blip for those waiting. Shame there are so few places to get BTC in UK for reasonable value. Maybe I'll need to find some time to go the OTC route.

Still no reply from seller despite being online several times. Confirmed with my bank that the funds have reached him.

For now I'm advising that nobody trades with this guy.
