bitcoind and bitcoin-qt. I don't trust online wallets since they may get hacked more easily than a standard encrypted wallet. I might be wrong, though.

In this case holders of Bitcoin richest addresses would be super-zillionaires able to buy states in a way normal people buy ice-creame.

I opened a ticket at Bitstamp, saying that I understand what a phishing email is and what it may do, and that I understand the risk, etc. I was able to withdraw my bitcoins within an hour. I didn't encounter any problems.
I think that the logic "better safe than sorry" implemented by Bitstamp is OK.

Litecoin and Feathercoin are great coins. Both have great dev team.
During the last couple of months Feathercoin has really made a big step forward: the link protocol, and flux are making this coin great.

The way things are going for MTGox, its more likely that Litecoin is going to be better off elsewhere! Wink

There has been a lot of interesting movements with exchanges over the past few weeks, and if MTGox don't do something soon, they are going to just lose their privileged place in the bitcoin universe.

+1
Currently Mt.Gox is a market leader. Market leader should develop the market. If it doesn't, someone else will and they'll lose their leading position. Basic principles of marketing.

I had no idea I could support them via PayPal.
Yes, first of all I'd like to know what Linus Torwalds thinks regarding this topic,
but I guess he might be enthusiastic about it.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I have to check if Gentoo accepts Bitcoin / Litecoin / Feathercoin donations.
If they do I certainly will donate, since I've learned almost everything I know about Linux through Gentoo.
I feel indebted to them.

Perhaps the survey questions should be expanded to "I want to hear from Linux first", "Yes, 10% certain", "Yes, 20% certain", etc.

At least I can't provide an answer in the form of yes/no.

I am curious, why do you think that Ripple is a bad idea?
I don't say that I like it very much myself, I have mixed feeling about it.
Any particular reason for disliking Ripple?

I was under an impression that transactions that are not valid, and can never enter the blockchain can't be initiated.
Could this be considered a bug?

Re: BTC or LTC?

My preferences:
1) Physical bitcoins, because they look very nice
2) Litecoins, because they will grow
3) Bitcoins, because that is where it all started.

BUT I wouldn't consider 2, and 3 as an investment. seems too risky to me at the moment.
While I have some it will not be fatal for me if both of them drop considerably.

BUT I'll keep casascius (when I get one) for sentimental reasons Smiley

Could you provide a further explanation.
is it either:
a) you'd like to import the private key of your android wallet to the desktop (of a PC)
b) you'd like to import the private key of an address you are already using on your PC to the adroid app

??
