Real BT Faucet? How to test local wallet?
by

Setup a new wallet program on a new PC.

I am unable to use any of my old wallets due to them being on a computer thats now been stolen. Lucky i guess im not wealthy as they didnt have much in them anyway. But i am now left with nothing to test with.  I Recall a while ago there were a few faucets around that would send a small amount to a address for testing.

Either the new ones are fake or i just cannot figure them out, I dont know where else to ask. I did some research into the current faucets and most use a number system or something if you hit you get .000xxx sent to you. Im still waiting..

In a last attempt ill ask here if anyone would mind helping? Feel free to PM/Email, and my local wallet ID is below.

I will return the funds soon as i see em. Thank You.

Email received from Multibit@team.multibit.org ?
by

I registered on mtgoxrecovery.com because i lost 10.94 BTC when "crap" hit the fan @ MTGox,

I just received a email from Multibit@team.multibit.org which reads the following:

Quote
you get new funds 10.944 BTC Please Click On the link To active your Funds
and download the invoice

With a link to https://multibit.org which redirects and ask's you to download a .JAR file from https://palmbeachwineco.com. The file is a .JAR aprox 43kb in size

What is this?

Obviously i have not downloaded / ran or responded. I am asking mainly because i want people to be aware of this. im about 99% sure its a phish from info gathered off the mtgox recovery site.

Thank you very much idee,

Thats what i was looking for. Probably have a higher chance of being struck by lightning WHILE being attacked by a bear, But its worth a shot to recover my 13 BTC (bought at about $650/each)(or little over $8k total)

Thx again

Since we all know Gox is royally fked, Has anyone setup a place to catalog users / Users ID / Amount lost, in gox closing ?

I had quite a few coins on gox and am really trying to figure out what to do next. I guess any hope of getting the coin back is gone, But it would be nice to at least have it recorded.  Huh

I wanted to check back and thank everyone OTHER than this idiot prick pankkake,  on recommending Bitcoin-Broker,

My first transaction with BB was a breeze. I will be using them again in the future.

The customer service they provide is top notch.

And JFYI, Dwolla does CampBX transfers. But the first transfer is held 31 days!!!

Meaning if you havent used it before you must wait 31 days before campBX gets the funds, I did as they suggested, transferred a small amount today ($20) and use another service in the meantime. Eventually the funds will go through and then from then on ur transfers are instant.

Thanks again to everyone that was helpful.

So Bitcoin Brokers was suggested. I have done about all the research i can but i am a little hesitant on sending $400 directly to someones personal bank account...

Can anyone vouch for BB before i take the dive?

THIS IS WHY bitcoins will never grow. ITS TO HARD for the avg person to even buy them safely. This is the single dumbest choke point in the whole BTC system and nothing ever changes.

Feedback on BB anyone?

No, I live in a VERY rural part of my state.

Most of the people around me cant even spell computer, even if they can spell it u wouldnt be able to understand them anyway cause they have around 3 teeth.

I do have stores (CVS/WALLMART/ETC)

I tried the face to face thing but, unless i drive 5+ hours its unrealistic.

So i have a couple grand i want to purchase some coin,

I haven't been around or keeping up on BTC news. I used to use BitInstant but it appears they wont be back anytime soon. Even if they do i don't hold high hopes based on there first attempt to replace a perfectly working website with a P.O.S..

So i asking for advice on how i can do a cash deposit or transfer for coin.

BitInstant is gone
Dwolla doesn't deal with BTC (makes them totally useless)

Suggestions?

THank You!
