I think this sounds good logically, but obviously it’s not legal. Even if it can be concealed from everyone, it may eventually be baolu for some reason.

I find it rather odd that we spend the majority of our years when we are most able to do anything (20-40’s) - we commit 75% of our time to working. alienated from experiences, just so that we can retire with all of the money and free time when we are least able to do the things we wish we did when we were younger.

Re: Why am I so handsome in the mirror but so ugly in a photo?

Someone on ELI5 explained this recently.

Basically, it's all about lens focal length. Phone cameras and common digital cameras have low focal length lenses, so that it can capture a large area. But low focal length also distorts your face in an unpleasing manner.

Example: https://cdn3.dpmag.com/2017/11/004-Focal_Length_Comparison.jpg

So, the mirror is more accurate.

Edit: It appears that I'm slightly incorrect. The facial distortion is due to close distance rather than the lens focal length. The higher focal length lenses basically allow you to shoot from farther away, from where the perspective looks more natural.

me and my dad had a little war with this lmao. He would drive me to school at 8am and wake up at 7am and i'd wake up at 6:30am. Well he wanted up first so he woke up at 6:00am to beat me at first up. So one day I decide there is no way he'll do 5am and this madman started waking up at 4 fucking am, sometimes not even sleeping to be first up. The dude fell a sleep at the wheel a few time so I went back to 6:30am and never test the power of a dad again lmao.

Re: What are subtle red flags at a job interview that say "working here would suck"?

Jobs where the expectations of the position aren't clear. The person hiring you should be able to give a clear idea of your responsibilities are day to day in a practical way. It shows that the company understands what it wants out of the position.

I've worked a couple positions that had a really hard time figuring out who was supposed to do what that lead to a lot of confusion and both of them had this in the interviews. If the company you're working for can't define what success in that position looks like you won't be able to either.

Depends on how you are but all the above mentioned activités are great! Aside from that as I was saying online gaming is a great outlet. This is because you interact with other people who’ve had different experiences in life and are at varying stages as well. This leads to possibly stimulating conversations you can have and help keep you on your feet when you’re communicating with them. Other than that the action of playing certain games also requires focus and brain power in order to do some tasks/missions/quests etc

My husband is an EMT. he got a job offer that paid him $6 more per hour and his boss told him not to take the offer, because he will give him the upcoming promotion when the senior EMT quits.

So my husband did what he said, he didn't take the job offer and waited for the promotion. Then he found out someone else got it and he obviously asked his boss wtf happened.

His boss said "it wasn't guaranteed", he was just putting his name in the hat with a good word to the senior boss. Which obviously wasn't true, but there was nothing my husband can do about it legally (at-will state). So my husband got his paramedic license and now he's going to get even more money. Just gave his two weeks notice.

My dog once literally ate my homework. More accurately, I was eating some goldfish as I worked on a math worksheet which ended up being covered in crumbs. Got up to put the bowl of goldfish away and my big old dumb dog Fred (basset hound) went up and licked the crumbs right after he had a drink of water ruining a big chunk of the work sheet in middle. My teacher sorta believed me when I produced the ruin sheet, but I suspect she suspected I spilled something on it, possibly on purpose. I was very bad at math.

This was true this year in the rural town in the Midwest that I grew up in. A lot of people still don’t have internet there and so they’ve been mailing homework packets to the kids. The kids haven’t had any instruction from a teacher in months, they only get the packets. Zoom not an option. Even for the rich kids who have internet access at home, the local internet infrastructure is not good enough for video calling.

Just shy of $20,000 to go to Antarctica travelling solo (small cruise ship). More than I've spent on every other vacation I've taken combined.

Was one of the best trips of my life. It also gave me enough space and clarity to realize how toxic my ex was to me so that I could find the strength to leave not long after I got back.

I'll always want to go back to Antarctica. The inner peace I found there changed my life.

Everyone does what's the best for them. I usually buy Bitcoin once a week - only the money I can afford to lose. This DCA calculator might help to decide what will work best for you.

Bitcoin isn't a 'get rich quick' scheme, it's more about 'not getting poor slowly'.
