I think it using blockchain is cannabis industry will help to make it more transparent so cannabis coins must have future. Not all of them) But of course it is needed in a few more countries with legalize. I hope the time will change and this number will grow. For example Canada legalized MJ couple of weeks ago. So it is possible for some other countries to join this politics. I think it is good for all people when government understand that if they can't overcome it, they need to lead it! This statement relates not only to weed, but to the hole crypto industry.

I'm a bit sceptical about this idea, as cannabis is illegal in most countries, so weed is relatable to crime, drugs, etc. It makes cannabis alts less popular, I guess. I wouldn't invest in it.

Yeah it's illegal but wouldn't you say it probably won't be that way for much longer? If anything to me this seems like the best time to invest in it. Obviously i'm not talking hundreds of thousands of euros, but a few hundreds here and there i think are worth it.
i have heard a certain alt coin before that is all about cannabis, i don't really know if it does exist up until now, since i also share the same idea with you that because of its current standing as illegal it makes itless popular that is also the reason why it is not very known among traders, but to tell it honestly crime related drugs is really irrelevant whenwe talk about cannabis, there are also huge differences among cannabis users and those otherpetty drugs.

Exactly! Yes it's illegal NOW, and not everywhere by the way, but it definitely won't be for long. Plus it's a way different crime from everything else and it's not even close. It's not about a crypto for murderers or ISIS-coin.

Thanks for every single reply, i appreciate it. Although "we should wait and see" is not necessarly the answer i'm looking for, since that's not a good way of making money, at least that's how i see it. i don't mean to sound rude, just expressing my opinion

This is still not a popular thing in the crypto currency market. These sort of things will take time to create a buzz because these sort of things are very hush hush. Give it some time, things might turn around. This may, slowly over time, peak interest in people too.

if we say in fact the question asked, then I do not understand what is common between drugs and crypto currency. It seems to me that drugs are so well suited, even without the help of a digital currency.

The way i see it a related crypto would help making it safer market. After all, it's still a drug and people might not want to have their purchases displayed to the public. Let's say a country goes back to having marijuana illegal and a guy has his past dug up to show he bought it before: it could damage his career.

Hi everyone, i'm somewhat new here so please bear with me Grin
First off, i'm not a crypto expert by any means, just a casual fan.
I've been interested in cannabis, as a hobby and a business, for a while but unfortunately the laws of my country (italy) don't allow much.
Recently a local company/start-up (Nativa) has partnered with an alt-coin (WIID) and that sparked my interest in that combination, which I had initially written off, and found other cryptos targeting marijuana (like PotCoin, Tokes and others).
I have invested in a really small amount on WIID because of initial excitement,  and now i'm wondering wheter or not this particular market has any merit to exist or not before I go any further, regardless of which crypto establishes itself.
What do you guys think?

I don't understand the advantages of specific coins for cannabis only. I think there should be one general currency being used and blockchain would be applied to cannabis platforms, that would make more sense to me.

But the same could be said about real currencies, yet we have hundreds of them. Plus, I don't think having different cryptos would be much of an issue, since there will most likely be some system to instantly convert every payment

I know it's still early to make an accurate call on wheter it will succeed or not, I was just curious to know people's opinion on the matter before i go too deep into it. I'm aware it's always risky so I always invest money I'm ready to lose.
Sorry, I don't want to come across as aggressive, just stating my point of view  Wink
Edit: spelling
