From the release thread you are a scam as far as I am aware people have tried to get in contact with you and been ignored...
Not true, if you read the thread we say multiple times we are not responding to sell offers currently until the issue with the distribution is solved. We do however have 350,000 FAC for sale and will only be using a trusted escrow to perform the trade.

Couldn't they just hardfork the client with an input of the lost 15k as a hardcoded transaction? and then continue the distribution as normal from that address, so anyone with the old client would be left on a dead blockchain?

I've tried to contact http://www.faircoinexchange.com/ to sell or buy some Faircoin but no reply at all. Don't understand what they are trying to do.
I think they said they were waiting until distribution was done to start trading. Not sure if they are legit or not yet.
We have gotten too many requests and have already said on this thread to please be patient until trading starts at which point we will respond to everyone. We are waiting for distribution to end and the network to be stable. Also it doesn't help that while everyone here is trying to dump their coins we are trying to build buy support.

We haven't started trading yet as the Dev's asked not to trade until all coins have been distributed. We aren't even accepting coins from people at the moment. The price was set based on some preliminary interest we received from buyers and sellers, but it will readjust the moment trading is live. We will use escrow whenever it is requested. Everyone should be patient and helping to spread the word about Faircoins and upvoting it on the exchanges right now.

I am just wondering, nothing more, but if you have a valid answer to this question, I think your legitimacy will not be questioned anymore.
We are part of a private altcoin group of 50 people and once we started pushing the coin people in the group who had missed out were asking to buy from us. We got some pre-orders and that is when we realized the potential for this coin and decided to set up the exchange service.

If you are accepting a reputable forum member escrow is fine to me (Tomatocage, John K., DannyHamilton or the like). If you are proposing your own unknown to manking escrow, then no xD
We will only work with escrow providers that both parties approve. If there is a trusted forum member escrow who would like to work with us on a constant basis please reach out to us.

Such a waste of domain name if you ask me. Poor start and wrong move to imply that they were part of the dev team. Should have gone clean from the start.
We never implied we were part of the dev team. Trolls on this forum are hurting this coin by claiming we are scammers with no evidence. We are an honest team and we are working hard to make this coin a success.
If anyone has any suggestions we are all ears, but not giving us a chance doesn't help anyone. We're giving out free Faircoins for anyone who applies.

Even their site says that 50million Fair coin exists ever, however its not ture, there is no limit, only 50million was generated at start, more coins will be generated trough PoS.
And it would be better if somebody make a true exhange site like dgex.com for NXT, rather than to make a kind of "broker" site like this.
The 50 million hard cap was a typo, we have not slept for a few days, it's fixed now. We agree a real time exchange is also necessary, but there are much larger security risks with such an exchange. We are working on more advanced functionality and improving the site as we speak, please remember we only started working on this a couple days ago. Hopefully more exchanges will surface soon. In the meantime we will help connect buyers and sellers.
We used a shared hosting service so I'm sure you'll find many other sites on there...please do not label us scammers without proof, we really want to help make this coin hugely successful and we have no intention of scamming anyone. It is good to be wary, but if you claim every new service is a scam before they've done anything then this coin will fail.
Soon we will start making trades and our positive feedback will speak for itself.
