Re: UEFA Europa League 2024/25 Season
by

It is not easy to play for Manchester United, the pressure is quite high in line with the expectations of the fans, when a player has a bad season it is very difficult to recover and find their best form. At their new club, Antony and Rashford play without much demands, which makes them comfortable and seem to enjoy every game more.

There are many examples of very relevant cases, some players sometimes do not fit the manager strategy, and no one is to blame for this. The question then is whether Antony and Rashford will return to Manchester United next season, after their impressive loan spells with their new clubs. I think Ruben Amorim can consider both players for next season.

I don't think that both of them have much to prove at Manchester united. After falling to deliver in two consecutive seasons and luckily gets a breakthrough from their loan spell, I don't think the plans to return will cross through their minds. Or perhaps, they might make their return if the higher salary happens to be their top priority than having a quality playing time and scoring goals.

Aside these two players, I think majority of the united players has been struggling for sometime now. Same thing happened under ETH. It looks very much like a club/managerial problem than a player problem. Well, let's see what happens next, since the season is almost over.

Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions

Madrid is smart to get top players for free, like Mbappé and TAA, to save about €200M in fees and then spend that money on someone like Saliba, who will cost real money.  Sad but reasonable things to say about Rodrygo. His numbers this season are good (12 goals, 8 assists), but with Mbappé locked in, Endrick coming in, and Bellingham moving up, he can't be sure of a spot. When Di María, Özil, and even Morata were all balled out, Madrid still got moved. Someone could spend €80M to €100M on Rodrygo, which would give Saliba or even Jorrel Hato money. Galácticos 3.0: a lot of skill turnover, no emotion, and a lot of drive

With this Arnold deal almost sealed, I certainly agree with you that Real Madrid should go for William Saliba. At this point, they've already gotten what they needed in terms of every position, and i heard that David Alaba might use the exit at the end of the season, which i think should be an opportunity to get a better replacement. William Saliba will certainly do well and strengthen the defense line when paired with Rudiger, but the big question is, will Saliba leave Arsenal. Arsenal are still very much in the UCL, and peradventure Arsenal wins the title, it will certainly affect Saliba's decision to stay at the club for a longer period, but if the reverse happens, then Real Madrid certainly have a chance.

on 05/05/2025, 17:18:40 UTC

The thing here is, I am not even sure if am doing it the right way, especially in the first few days.
Because I can only do it anytime I have access to a laptop or a desktop, so since the verification process is taking longer than expected, I am even doubting if I did it well the first few days that I started, unlike now that am very much conversant with it.
I will be leaving it to run a little bit longer next time around.

It's even good you have an access to a computer which I think is very important in this case. Truth is, I was quite confused at the first, because I can remember downloading the v27.0 more than a month back but couldn't run the node properly until last week.

First, you need a good internet connection. That was my biggest problem from onset. I even expressed my frustration in this Thread due to the poor service of my ISP. Try to get a very good Internet connection , even if it requires changing your ISP which shouldn't cost you anything.

If your connection is good, you should be able to hit 10% progress in 5-6 hours(which I have done once). I currently run mine at least 5 hours per day which gives me an average progress of 6%(depending on my connection).

Re: RAISING MORE BITCOIN MINDED INDIVIDUALS
by

on 05/05/2025, 10:44:13 UTC

If more individuals All over the world are raised to be Bitcoin ambassadors it would be of great gain not just to the system but the individuals as well.with more people coming to the knowledge of the existence of Bitcoin and it's likes, would be like a catalyst to discovering more of the potential Bitcoin holds and has to offer So there are thousands and millions of people out there in  society that has not heard about Bitcoin and all it has to  offers even if they have the idea they have not accepted it so there should be a way to raise more Bitcoin minded individuals, and one way to do this is by you who has the knowledge to make sure that you share information about Bitcoin around your spheres of influence and control

So this whole idea is about adoption, but I don't think everyone can safely promote it to others around them, probably as a result of insecurity or level of trust. If you even check the current happenings, especially on the internet, you would realize that the internet has literally become a ground for promotion, so I won't advise that we take that risk to promote Bitcoin physically when they might be consequences from those that prefers to go after people's hardwork. If it's even possible to stay quiet for the rest of your life, you might just have to do. Bitcoin already have what it takes to grow and create more awareness.

I'm not sure of how Bitcoin reduces poverty.
Let me just assume that you meant "hardwork" reduces poverty.

One thing about Bitcoin is that it helps to protect one's wealth. One thing is for you to labour, while another thing is for you to see your hard labour produce a good result that will stay for a long time, which I think Bitcoin does.

Chelsea had more presure in this match and they need a win badly and thats why they won. Liverpool didnt care much about this match because they won the title and thats why they couldnt score many goals because they were lacking focus in finishing. Cole Palmer finally played a good match after a long time

Massive credit to Chelsea for their performance today. They had to play better because they were in desperate need of that 3 points. In as much as it's a loss for Liverpool, I don't think they will be too bothered at this point, considering the fact that the season is already over for them and they've successfully secured the title. If Arsenal or Manchester City were to play against Liverpool today, I don't think they would be celebrating much, since they've always been contenders for the same title.

And i believe if it were possible for Liverpool to forfeit the remaining games, they would have done so by now, as there is nothing to prove or play for. It might even be best for Slot to stop playing his key players to prevent any unnecessary injuries in the last three games.

Re: Isn’t it kind of killing the fun if we try too hard to control our emotions?
by
Felicity_Tide
on 04/05/2025, 10:28:12 UTC

~snip

It’s okay to feel happiness and sadness when gambling, we’re only human, and that’s perfectly normal.

Of course we are all humans, and we are vulnerable to having both positive and negative moments in our lives. Now, when it comes to gambling, from records or what most of us are aware of, we know the negative impact emotions can attract especially in a case of persistent losses. So, in as much as sadness is part of the moments, it's our responsibility to find better ways to manage it.

You see, managing negative moments might sound so simple to some people, but the truth is, everyone is not built to handle situations in same way, and that's why some cases might lead to addiction or something far complex, leading to uncontrollable gambling.

Just like you've said, it's okay to feel happy and sad, but how we manage the negative side matters alot.

Re: European Union to ban anonymous crypto and privacy tokens by 2027
by
Felicity_Tide
on 04/05/2025, 08:13:08 UTC

Money laundering, phishing, ransomware, scammers, Ponzi Schemes, cryptotheft will all continue to exist in 2027 but these imbeciles think that banning privacy coins and severely restricting Bitcoin will magically end all these things.

It's like they live on a different universe from the rest of us.

It's so sad that we live in a world where those who ought to give account and say things the way they are, choose to find something else to put the blame on, making a scapegoat out of it. tbh, the bottom line is, they are after privacy, but with money laundering as an excuse, they've found a perfect reason to strike.

There are so many ways people launder money, and I want to believe there are still those who uses shell companies and supposed legitimate businesses. But to them, crypto just seem to be the big deal. What a shame.

Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell?

Having a source of income is not even negotiable. And not just a regular source of income, having a good one also gives you a better chance of accumulating more fractions, setting aside your emergency funds(if you probably haven't done that from day one), and also setting aside your basic needs as well.

You do not need to have a steady job in order to invest into bitcoin.

You do need discretionary income, though...so hopefully anyone is investing into bitcoin from their discretionary income and/or their savings.. not from money that they need for expenses... and hopefully their investment timeline is 4-10 years or longer, since bitcoin is better as an investment rather than as an attempt to trade it.

Yeah, I get the fact,
Discretionary income happens to be the main concept, but I was wondering, where does the discretionary income comes from?, i guess it comes from the main income.

Don't you think that if an investor can increase his or her income, it might also affect the discretionary income positively(at least to some extent), which also helps in getting more fractions?.

And a quick question, I feel I have being quite obsessed with accumulating in fractions consistently, rather than the DCA. Trying to accumulate in fraction has been quite fun though, since I sometimes have to spend more than usual, or spend less than usual due to price difference. Do you think that this approach is quite aggressive?.

Bitcoin started as way for everyone to send money without needing banks or other companies. But because its price goes up and down much people now mostly see it as something to save money in hoping it will be worth more later and it has made money for many people who have held it.

Price going up and down is not a complete reason. I don't think anyone would invest in something that fluctuates(going up/down and returning back to it's normal state), without any attributes of a better growth. imo, the best reason was that, Bitcoin can increase in a long term even while volatility still does it's thing(up and down movement). I was trying to understand it's price growth mathematical model, and I actually discover that it doesn't follow a complete exponential pattern since it's price doesn't necessarily double after a complete cycle. I think the "power law" behavior describes its price movement better, since it's priced increases over a long term even with the influence of volatility.

Having steady job and income is most important thing before even thinking about putting money into something as unpredictable as Bitcoin. If you do not have regular income you will be very tempted to sell your Bitcoin if you have any money problems and that mostly leads to losing money. And idea of buying Bitcoin regularly with DCA is good way for many people because it helps reduces risk of buying at  wrong time and encourages thinking about it as long term investment.

Having a source of income is not even negotiable. And not just a regular source of income, having a good one also gives you a better chance of accumulating more fractions, setting aside your emergency funds(if you probably haven't done that from day one), and also setting aside your basic needs as well.

Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2024/25
by
Felicity_Tide
on 02/05/2025, 17:19:04 UTC

There is no doubt about the strongest teams in Spain, they both have a big flaw, they always want to be the best!
Injuries happen to all teams, they cause discomfort but it always requires concentration on the objective.
Many mistakes can be avoided and above all the coaches could stay calmer before making statements.
The next match of Atletico Madrid aims to quote the victory of the same.
At the moment among the last 5 matches with the best results in the standings without a doubt they are Barcelona and it is difficult to end up playing for the victory
by playing the other matches badly.
Considering that tomorrow they have a match where all the bookmakers for obvious reasons give an almost certain victory, they will continue to gain points remaining at the top.

AFAIK, both Barcelona and Real Madrid suffered so many injuries this season, so it's not as if only Real Madrid were just so unlucky. Even with the injury worries, both teams still won certain numbers of games in a row, and if we remembered correctly, that was when they all started switching positions on the table. We are now down to the last 5 games, which is technically few games to the close of the season. I remembered stating that, the second half of every football season is a time where teams that are fighting for the title ought to put in their 100%.

Barce has been really brilliant in this second half of the season in terms of team performance. I believe we all have seen how their collective team performance has won them game, even when they where not the favorite. Another title loading for them. Not sure of the UCL though, because Inter Milan just happen to be a crazy side. But without the UCL title, Barce have done more than enough for themselves by winning 3 titles (after the end of the season).

Re: UEFA Europa League 2024/25 Season
by

on 01/05/2025, 23:15:00 UTC

This is European football for you, Even though someone had expected a win from the United side, but wouldn't have thought about the goal reaching 3:0 which makes it almost impossible for Atletico Bilbao to turn things around, But could they repeat what Chelsea did against Napoli? a remarkable comback at the returning leg in their round of 16 game, which Chelsea lost 3:1 in the first leg and came back and thrashing Napoli 4:1 in that match that put Chelsea through.

So what are we looking at here, a very interesting Europa League final between two English teams that has been very very poor this season. I literally can't explain how this two teams managed to pull of this amazing performance in the European competition, but they've become a laughing stock in the Premier league. Now, the crazy part is, as it stands, six teams in the English premier League might be playing in the UCl next season, instead of the recent 5 slot that was approved.

I don't see Bodo Glimt and Bibao making any comeback from this. United might have a funny surprise for us as they've always done, but I think they will certainly find their way. Can't wait for the finals. And I really wish 3 English teams can win the three European title this season, but that won't be easy for Arsenal at all.

Maybe this small gap could suddenly become much bigger. Just as many teams have come back from behind in the history of the Champions League, it is also true that Arsenal will be able to make a comeback. Whatever anyone says, Arsenal need a proper striker at the moment. Moreover it is worth noting that Arsenal's counter-attack was not successful, even though Paris Saint-Germain controlled Bukayo Saka very well. I think the giant Italian goalkeeper Donnarumma deserves special respect because it is because of their strong competitive spirit and controlled effort, everyone can see that Paris Saint-Germain is progressing perfectly in the UEFA Champions League.

I was quite surprised to see PSG defeating Arsenal at the Emirates after they eliminated Liverpool few weeks back. tbh, Arsenal was the favorite even though they've struggled in the English premier League in their previous games. They've drew 3 out of their 4 last premier games, but have performed better in the UCl until they met with PSG 2 days back. As far as the league is concerned, there is nothing to fight for.

And as for the UCL game, I don't think the marking of Saka cost them the game. I think it was the absence of Partey. Rice ability to make go runs was a bit limited due to partey's absence. I think Arsenal stands a better chance in the second leg with the presence of all available starting 11. There is nothing to fight for in the English premier League, so Arteta shouldn't risk much when he has a tougher mountain to climb next week.

Re: Do you know how much you spend on various bills a week/month?
by
Felicity_Tide
on 01/05/2025, 15:17:20 UTC

I guess that's one of my problems now. I know how much I'm earning, but somehow I still overspend every month. It's kinda funny because I know how to make a business planm, but when it comes to myself, I can't even manage my spending properly.

Thanks for your topic! I think it's time I take this seriously.
I'll start making a monthly budget now.

One thing I can assure myself of, is telling myself that I don't need certain things at a particular moment, and I rather prefer to keep my money instead. But at some point, I would realized that I have spent more than usual in a very short period, (especially when it has to do with something that is going straight into the stomach). I can remember having a walk with a friend few days back, and he was literally complaining to me how he has spent so much. After telling me how much he has spent, I realized that my own situation was even worse.

The thing is, things like this will certainly happen, but as long as we have that discipline to always deprive/deny ourselves from certain things at some point, we should be able to manage the whole situation. Planning is important, but we all can genuinely agree that we sometimes fail to live by own rules.

Re: Trump has cut his first official deal with the Ukraine. Thoughts anyone?
by

on 01/05/2025, 08:09:07 UTC

If I remembered correctly, Trump invited Zelenskky to the whitehouse few weeks back(can't remember the specific month now) to discuss the way forward and also see if he could come to a certain term that was set in ending the war. The interview went viral, and we all saw Zelenskky a bit reluctant. There were so many issues pointed out, like how the Biden administration spent tax payer's money in financing/supporting Ukraine in the war, and Trump emphasized that it will definitely not happen in his own administration.

So, if I understood correctly, US is indirectly charging Ukraine, just to settle the war?.
No way
There is definitely more to this story that the public isn't aware of.
Just like the first reply said, if care is not taken, the war might be prolonged.

So did Trump get a win by playing Putin?

Or did he get a win by playing Zelenskky?

I think Zelenskky is being used here.

Please correct me if I misunderstood anything.

In whatever you analyze, don't forget that Inter Milan visit Camp Nou. This is the same Camp Nou that no team goes to claim possession during the time of Ronadinho, Ettoo, Yaya, Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, Suarez, Neymar etc. Nothing has changed. Inter Milan getting early goal, and finally was able to bounce back and got with 1 point is a great achievement. Please, give them their flowers.

Do you think flowers will be enough?, I think we have to give them something far more expensive, because they really did the unthinkable today. The thing is, we underate the serie a sides alot, but for Inter to take the lead in two separate occasions, it shows that they have more taste to qualify for the next the round. Barcelona were also able to come from behind in that same two separate occasions, but can they pull off the same trick when they travel next to Italy?.  I would have loved to see Barce in the finals, but as things stands, Inter seem to be a stronger threat here, and I literally wonder what would be going through the minds of PSG and Arsenal fans that watched tonight's game. Facing any of these guys is definitely a nightmare.
