Re: Bitcoin withdrawal suspension saga: why self custody is the best
by

Firstly I see no reason why someone on this forum that has ranked enough to be in a signature campaign would receive bitcoins directly to their exchange address and worse of it all a centralized exchange. -snip-

Sometimes people decide to use an exchange wallet address to avoid fees. As we know, when transactions are busy on the blockchain, we have to spend more money to get confirmations faster. I considered using the same method when BTC fees were over $20 during the BRC-20 boom. I almost did it, but I decided against it because if I used an exchange wallet and the wallet address in my account suddenly changed, I might lose my payment. So, for me, it was better to pay fees than lose everything.
It is not an excuse for them to use the exchange's address and especially when blocks are filled with transaction paid fees lower than 1sat/vb. If anyone thinks that way then bookmark this thread for regular updates: [Aug 2025]Mempool empty, Consolidate your small inputs @0.27 sat/vbyte

Re: Communism is not so much different

So let me ask a question. When you buy a home with all your life savings, does it become yours? What makes it differ from the soviets? I mean, obviously they recorded your rights to the building on paper, and now they record it in digital databases. But is it REALLY that different? You don't truly own either. It's all the government's promise to let you access it and keep away whomever should not access it, until they don't.
It depends on the government policies, in my country if I won the land then it's completely belong to me but there is nothing stopping the government if they want to take it and I have no other choice and most of the time they don't even give the right compensation for it and that's almost same for everywhere even if you own both the land and house still government can take it.

The only thing you truly own is bitcoin. The rest are promises.
Gold is yours to,o right? But anyone remember Executive Order 6102, issued by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933, "That order required all U.S. citizens to turn in their gold coins, bullion, and gold certificates to the Federal Reserve in exchange for paper dollars at a fixed rate of $20.67 per ounce."

So if the government wants to take what is in their citizens possession then they can take it in one way or the other but good things with bitcoin is digital so as long as you are not leaking your bitcoin possession data to government by KYCing to centralized platforms and using it on your primary wallet linking that reveals what is under your possession so if you want them not to take away wha is yours then keep your main stash away from your KYC linked addresses.

My only question. Who is she?  Grin

Had to get my youngest to help me out.  Her name is Kawai Ruka a Japanese member of the Kpop group BabyMonster.  You're in luck too - she's 23 years old.  Some of those Kpop girls start their careers at 15 years of age - the makeup and outfits make them seem more mature.
OOps my bad. For a second I was like “Yep, another OF Gurl, Let's subscribe.”

Re: The economics of mass deportation in the US
by

on 26/08/2025, 18:42:27 UTC
Illegal immigrants means there is no tax coming from these people for IRS so if they can deport some and all then the emplyment crisis can be controlled but the employers are good and stable enough to pay the higher salary for immigrants who come legally as labour or locals because the wage will be way higher than what they are paying. That will collapse the business and their profits or even can bankrupt small ones mean they will get much lesser tax than before. In theory the result is different but in reality it will be different. Grin

Re: Bankroll management is not a strategy.
by

Do you agree with me? Or do you think that bankroll management is a strategy?

There are reasons why it is considered as strategy. In gambling the results are based on probability and if we take the dice 1/6 is out winning chance of the bet and we can't say that if we bet 6 times we will atleast win once since the results are respective to each bet but in general more we play and more we stretch the chance of winning is there and with another example if someone bet $1000 on a single bet of any game and going all in their might win and make it big or lose everything and get home with nothing but if someone decided to go with $1 of 1000 bets then it has serious chance of winning and more or less we will end up with more than $1000, so it is a strategy.

Re: australia's weird gambling culture
by
Findingnemo
on 26/08/2025, 17:01:06 UTC
don't be mistaken, they are still gamblers but they are now a lot more interested in sports betting. casinos nowadays in Australia are failing and losing profit while sports betting platforms are the ones winning

is the failure of casinos has got to do with too much accessibility therefore not generating any more excitement? or is sports betting just the new trend which is where the new generations flock towards to? are you still team casino or team sports betting?

Australia is a big country by land size but it's mostly desert and it's population is very low and if you said there's slot machine at every corner of a street then too much of machines and less people to play which is the reason why they are failing not really due to the shift in the trend among gamblers from casino game to sports betting.

And even if it's true that is why modern day casinos got both of them in one place so they don't miss out any potential customer and revenue from them.

There can be lot of IFs and BUTs. And if you are disappointed with something that you missed because you were doing something else then you are not alone. The entire world got the same story with them if we ask why they are not successful in their life. Smiley

Instead, you should focus on your future and that's what happened now, you might be old now but there is no agre barrier for investment and money. You can keep doing it as long as you want and finally remember this "Better Late than never".

And even though such cases are few, it is nevertheless always unpleasant when someone tells you that he had his own opinion, but decided to listen to you, and because of this he lost money.
That is the perspective of someone from the opposite side now what if they don't even blame us but just let us know that they wanted to bet on X but they also decided to bet on team Y because I am going to bet on them can create some guilt on ourselves that is why better don't discuss at all with others prior our betting and then it is okay to discuss how much they won with the closed group but there's another view of jealousy comes in play if I won and other party lost and over time it can also lead to hate crimes and many other things.

Re: Skill or educational certificate
by

on 25/08/2025, 23:26:22 UTC
Because I have seen a situation whereby a guy with  good skill who got a job was unable to give quotation and he lost the job .Formal education is good for everyone.
I can make a good art but if I can't sell it to anyone then I won't be considered as a good artist so we can consider them skillful only if we see them to do what they are good at it. And the solution here is simple someone with a skill but lacks English to the tool to communicate with his client then all he need to do is just hire someone who is good at it so you can concentrate on what is important and that makes you a boss too. Wink

You got good grades in your academics but you lack real world skills then you can't find a job in this competitive market because people are in need of jobs so one must be good at both and also need to sell what they are good at to their employer to get the job.

Just do it alone, that's best for you and your friendship with other. And if you are bet on individual irrespective of others choice and then gather around only to watch the game or to see who won the game then its good but when you all are betting on one together then someone will have to take the blame if you lose the bet. We can say we don't like that and we all share the responsibility among everyone but that's not the reality and that's why there's always misunderstanding happens even between the close partners.

When someone starts receiving more money in their bank account then it is gonna some raise some flags to the tax regulatory body irrespective of the country that is why p2p should not limit to certain extend and for higher limints then the user need to have other source of cashflow that should matches the amount we trade so we can report it as part of the same source too. And it can be done in many ways which I am not denying but there will always be risk associaed with it when we try to evade taxes,  more scrutiny also possible from the banking side and demand source of funds when they think something is off.

Just imagine 100 years fast forward, and someone is reading this thread, and who knows this could become an iconic thread to remember. Cheesy

The answer is pretty simple to the Op's question. Yes, miners will keep mining blocks as long the rewards from the fees is able to compensate their operating expense along with some profit, even if it's a little. And no if the fees are not enough to cover the electricity expenses.

Re: Sounds can make you an irresponsible gambler if you let it
by

I usually mute the sounds while playing the games because it gets pretty annoying for a long session when you just hearing the same sound over and over again. And it is true to an extent that sounds can manipulate the brain and can urge for more but it's more common at young age, like kids and adolescents not for an adult but to gamble legally, you need to be an adult of age over 18+. What I will say is about the animations that does the same or even more effectively than sound but when you mute the effect can be negligible with just the animation.
And do you know that game animations can be turned off as well, most especially slot games since I don't know or I am not so very sure if this feature exist on other games like casino and table games alike.

I also like to turn off music or sound when ever I am gambling because for me, the sounds create distractions, gambling in a noisy environment simply means that one will have to be gambling with lack of attention to the game and the inability to think properly and reason  logically to atleast, better the gambler's chances of wining at the end.

Other disadvantage also is that gambling with sound turned on will make the device battery to run out faster than they should.
I don't think we can turn off the animations but what we can do is skill the roll or spin just get to the results instantly something like a fast forward and jump straight into the results and the name can vary depends on the game and casino.

it's 2025, why not wear a headphone bro. Cheesy

I said annoying in the context of keep hearing the same sound again and again in the short loop which can be addictive for many but not to me.

Re: Is gambling inspiring people to work harder?
by

on 24/08/2025, 18:55:50 UTC
So how do you see this kind of lifestyle? Do you judge them as wrong because their reason is gambling, or do you respect it since everyone has their own way of finding happiness?
It is not the right thing to get motivated because at the end you are just going to spend money on luck where you don't have any control, just leave it to fate then why start working hard in the first place? Let's pray or do something and hoping for a miracle to become rich makes more sense to me. Cheesy

But I will admire their discipline, 9 to 5 at the job and 5 to 9 at casinos. Tongue

Let's say I am CEO of a big job and my annual salary cross 10 million then I would be happy to take that job instead of a business that gives me the same 10 million revenue. Smiley

Business is not just easy, it is hard and it looks like owners are doing nothing and just taking away all the money the company or business generates but no they worked for it to reach this stage and now they are enjoying their rewards and if you are ready to go through that then who is stopping you, be your own boss.
