Re: 📌[ANN][SAGA][Cryptopia][NO ICO][Masternode 90%] SagaCoin | PoW + PoS ⚡

How are the rewards splitted ?
Are the block rewards splitted between miners (25 SAGA for the 1 year) ? Masternodes get 180% of the block rewards (45 SAGA) and POS get 20% of the block rewards (5 SAGA) ? Does it means every block, every 120 seconds, 75 SAGA are created and distributed between miners, masternodes and stakers ?
Please tell me if this is right or not, I'm new and trying to understand the technical aspect of cryptocurrencies

I don't understand either. What is "time"?
The number of two week activity periods that have passed since you joined. Keep in mind that these periods are fixed, and don't depend on when you made your account. You can see all activity periods for a long while here.

Ok, now I understand how works this function. Thanks!

activity = min(time * 14, posts)

ı understood nothınk from that.

can someone translate thıs to mathematıch. what ıs thıs (,) as ı know there ıs no mat symbol lıke thıs am ı wrong ?

I have no idea, is that English ?  Grin

Seems to be a function inline. Where min would return the smallest number between posts OR time*14.

I don't understand either. What is "time"?

Question about SHA256 address
by
Fizak
on 29/08/2017, 13:23:13 UTC
So, a SHA256 private key is just a random 256 bits number. Does it means that I can use a bitcoin address on any coin using the SHA256 algo?
What about others algo?
I think I missed something.

Re: Alot of ICOs around, which one is scam free?

You should read their whitepapers and do your own researches. We can't tell which ones are scams.
My opinion: Most of them are scams. They are all start-ups, asking for huge funds for products that have not even been created. This is only speculation. Be careful with these investments and don't forget portfolio management.

Considering the fact that there will be (most likely) hundreds of nodes, it is not something THAT easy to DDoS all of them, but in case something like that happens the answer is, yes. There is a possibility that they can see your IP (even though chances are not that high) and possibly make a DDoS attack. If you are really keen on running bitcoin nodes (or any altcoin nodes in particular) you can check out some cheap VPS providers and host your wallets on VPS's alternatively, VPN is your option.

Thanks. So DDOS is the only threat of running a full node?
I have to open some ports to run the node right? Would It make me an easy target for malware?
I don't feel comfortable to run them on a VPS since I want to store my coins there.

Is It safe to run a full node?
by
Fizak
on 25/08/2017, 14:51:27 UTC
Hi guys
Is It really safe to run a full node? Does it make your network/computer vulnerable to external attacks?
I would like to run several full nodes, for different coins. What are the risks? I should use a VPN to avoid getting DDOS right?
Btw I would like to stay as anonymous as possible
Thanks

Re: Steemit.com: Blogging is the new Mining

For some time I have been interested in the way steemit works. I have read the whitepaper and the FAQ. There were some significant changes in the area of the service and it was not clear what was up to date and what was not. There are also a few issues that I could not find anywhere relevant information. I have gathered in one place many issues and I would be grateful if someone with the right knowledge shared that knowledge with me.

1. How does SP affect the value of the vote? - accurate calculations showing how SP affects our upvote at 100% VP.

It is linear. The exact calculations are complicated but to keep it simple twice as much SP = twice as much reward value (assuming 100% vote power). There is also a hidden vote power that kicks in if you vote too much (more than 10 full-power votes per day) and reduces your votes proportionately (if you full-power vote 20 times, each will be half as strong).

So if we want to optimize our curation rewards, we should vote 10 times a day, each 2.4 hours, right?

Re: Steemit.com: Blogging is the new Mining

Hello guys, I'm pretty new to Steem.
I read a lot about Steemit, and I have a few questions on Steem blockchain.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
So Steem is a POS coin that powered by witnesses (is that just another name for nodes?). They are verifying transactions (like on the BTC blockchain) but they also have to store all the content (accounts and posts) right? Do they need to operate hard drives like with Siacoin?
Also is all the content on Steemit stored on the Steem blockchain ? accounts, posts, comments, votes, muted accounts (I saw that you can't see on Steemit.com which users muted you but you can still see it by yourself on the blockchain right?), website url... And is it possible to delete that content or once something has been posted, i'll stay on the blockchain forever ? I mean, it can cause several problems, serious problems. What happens if someone publishes illegal content? It can be copyrighted content, like movies or music, or even worse : pedo, terrorist propaganda (lel).... I know that only text can be uploaded on Steem, pictures and videos have to be uploaded on third-party websites. But still, it's forbidden to distribute access to illegal content even if photos and videos are not uploaded on the site in question. And a .com public domain such as steemit.com can be easily seized.

Thank you in advance for enlightening me (btw maybe everything I said is retarded and I didn't understand anything at all but I had to ask you about that, it sounds very important to me lmao)

edit : Finally, I read that you can upload pictures directly on Steemit
