Re: What cancer is keeping Bitcoin and the crypto market behind

We are the cancer. People control the market, specifically our emotions. The price of bitcoin is in our hands and we are the reason for this drop. If we could all just hodl and not sell, with new money coming onto the market, bitcoin would be worth a lot lot more.

And I thought 50 to 100 entities are holding around 95% of bitcoin and those entities are not newbies. They been around longer than any of us Smiley

Today it was beaten by Bitcoin obviously.

Yep every time the whole market is falling BCH is getting beaten badly. I really don't understand who invests in that shit anyway. How about give it a rest and see how the market evolves without it Cheesy

Bitcoin Cash is just another alt. It has no more or less bearing on things than any other major coin. Almost all of them regularly post higher gains than Bitcoin percentage wise because they're all smaller.

2018 is nowhere near the worst year yet.

The one and only reason for these lulls is that giant bubble that you might have noticed. Bubbles pop when enough people realise they stupidly overpaid for something and run for the door. It takes a long time to rebuild confidence in valuations once it's been torched like that.

I don't think size really matters, It's not just an alt, it's competing with bitcoin, with intentions to take the throne and the name is similar. Market cap isn't too small either. Let's not forget there is lots of manipulation in the market and maybe whoever cares about bitcoin being always on top doesn't want to give it any chance. Anyway in my view it's cancer that needs to go away like the other pretender BTG, first slid out of top 10 and then top 20 Smiley

What cancer is keeping Bitcoin and the crypto market behind
by

Year 2018 has been the worst year for the crypto market by far! So what is the cause, the CANCER of it this year huh?

In my view the cancer is BCH (Bitcoin Cash)

As you all know bitcoin is the main driving force of the whole market and as long as gains made by bitcoin cash BCH are higher than the ones made by Bitcoin sorry folks Bitcoin will not let it grow that way.

That's my simple view to why the market sucks this year. In my view bitcoin cash must die if we are to go up. Notice how as soon as bch starts moving up faster than bitcoin the show stops there. As soon as Cash is down bitcoin and market is breathing again. I am pretty sure if bitcoin cash slides to 5th in market cap it will slide to 6th and then leave the top 10 all together very soon. Maybe we will all have a breather then.

Post what you think about this theory.

@claymore

Dear Claymore,

Please tell us, is the miner actually 0.3 to 0.4 MHs slower under linux vs Windows for AMD Polaris cards? It seems that way for all rigs at equal settings.

Re: Does anyone use Bitpay?
by

Bitpay wallet is a total scam!!! They claim to have integration with coinbase, and offer to buy bitcoins using a higher exchange rate from coinbase than you would if directly buying at coinbase. So Anyway I thought by buying through bitpay integrated system and paying the premium would save me from paying a transaction fee to transact the bitcoins from coinbase to bitpay. I double checked the amount of bitcoins I would be receiving, now after actually going forward with the transaction and buying the bitcoins I ended up receiving an amount of bitcoins MINUS the transction fee anyway. Basically a MUCH lower amount than claimed by their app prior to buying them!! Total scammers. Ruined my purchase. I was no longer able to purchase the product I wanted because I was short of bitcoins. Now I need to transfer bitcoins again to the darn bitpay wallet and pay the network fee again to buy the items I wanted.

What a scam.

The new micron card is the best memory ever. 32MH/s and over. Those are not the old micron chips we used to see. Can someone post the optimal strap to use? these can go like way up up in memory oc.

Hi, Is there something wrong with the late teamviewer versions alongside the most recent windows 10 version? Claymore becomes stuck at "start building OpenCL program for GPU 0..."  if I am logged on with teamviewer. If I am not logged on it starts mining as normal. Once I logon GPU 0 Hangs in open cl and miner continue with the rest of the cards. Thats ofcourse because I have  -wd 0 and -r -1. Otherwise everything works very well until you connect with teamviewer. Is there any setting to be changed?

bump, this is really bugging me on 2 different miners with latest version of windows (1709 fall 2017 update) I am still uncertain if its windows, teamviewer or claymore miner at fault.

Where do I get a wallet for this? Bitfinex and HitBTC both refuse to generate a new address.

Is there a way to lower the power limit below the minimal 50% on Nvidia cards?

Not through software man.

Either way i advice against it since around the -30%, the speed slowdown counters any gains from the power efficiency.

There are some 1060 cards with power limit way above what it should be and even setting 50% doesn't allow to get anything below 1.0 volts Sad I then used the temp limit to operate them at 750mV and around 1500 MHz... This kept the speed same in ETH especially on micron chips those cards cant go beyond 23 MHs so they dont need any core power at all.

Wonderif we can trick the card somehow to use low voltage

@Claymore

I am noticing strange behavior on one of the rigs with 6x 1080 Ti mining Ethereum with Claymore.

The cards starts mining at 36.1 MH/s and the do fine until there is a problem with the network connection either an actual loss of ping with the pool or a manual cable disconnect. Once the connection is reestablished the cards resume hashing at 35 MH/s instead of 36.1 MH/s. Upgraded to version 10.1 and the behavior persisted.

I just received my first D3 - I was shocked to see 20GHz average!  Smiley   AND very happily surprised to see that I had the option to control the fan speed!   (50% works perfectly and is much less noisy than the auto-tune S9!)

Just wanted to say "hi" to the thread... I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions.  (i.e., pool questions / firmware / etc.)
Sounds like a happy man to have a received a D3 miner capable of doing 20MH/s Cheesy Have you checked whattomine.com recently? Hate to break it to you, but your profit is $2 a day and heading down fast!

This still is not a news thread.

This is a speculation thread.

And this will remain as a speculation thread before there is a good reliable source for this information that we can go look at ourselves.

Period.

Why do you all even care if there will be a D3+ or not? No miner on X11 will any sense at this point. Those specs are already a useless heater specs. 30 GH/s is nothing for X11 the way it is now.

Unbelievable how I keep seeing threads here by retarded D3 optimists. Is Bitmain paying you to post things such as, "hey u all don't know how to mine, D3 will roi in 6 months, just wait for price of dash to go up"? No matter what the Dash price does, I currently wouldn't buy a D3 for $400 and that's because after the baikals and novemebr D3s are delivered at the end of November, you will be seeing network hashrates around 700-1000 TH/s maybe more. And guess what the revenue will be then? It will be at most 3$ a day with electricity costing almost as much. So YES a $400 NOISY HEATER is what you'll buy. There were plenty of warnings about this but nobody believed them, even the final dash batch sold out at an unbelievable pace Sad

Every x11 owner is going to have a hard time and Baikal owners will prefer other profit algo. End november even around 10 cents per kwh can be negative.
Baikal?? LOL, that company is a joke. I wouldn't buy toothpicks from those assclowns. BTW, all you doom and gloom prognosticators. When critical negative mass is achieved on X11 profitability and most of these people that overpaid for units and overpay for electricity are losing money, shut off their machines.....what do you suppose happens to the difficulty then?Huh

LOL. Nobody will switch them off until they are free heaters so 0 profit or loss is guaranteed for everyone in December with even a 10 cent electricity cost, eventually some will sell them to people with free electricity so difficulty will keep going up for now.

Pray for a new super coin on X11 Cheesy Or why not just fork ethereum on to X11 like they forked bitcoin gold to equihash.. at least we will be doubling our ethers the same way bitcoiners are now "doubling" their bitcoins with segwit2x if you know what I mean Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Stupidity all around really like Cheesy

i ordered 2 d3 november 20-30 batch each costs 1800$
iam little bit worried that i cant get my roi 3600$
but i have free electricity what do you guys think about it?
In early December you will be making $15.00 - $20.00 per day. You'll be fine. Not the Money river so many were looking for but that was never real anyway unless you got the first ones. The only people who are gonna get Digitally raped by big square ASIC, are the morons that bought from resellers.
That's for both miners in total and considering the free electrocity Smiley
