How do you protect against bots upvoting? And how exactly does the monetization work for this?
Bot operators will waste their valuable time trying to game the system at UpTweet.If we find accounts that are fake we ban them from the site. When a user goes to assign a payout address to their account we make them do a captcha. And whenever a withdrawal request is made there also needs to be a captcha.
All payouts are manually verified and go out weekly. UpTweet reserves the right to ban any account that may be violating our terms of services.
In the future we will have an algorithm that assigns a confidence score to all accounts. With all this, along with the active war on bots currently happening on Twitter, we believe these risks will be mitigated.

1. The entire platform technology runs off Twitter. When people started getting banned/shadow banned alot of people left. Theres one legendary member in another thread I made that lost an account with 50,000 followers and no explanation. We are an upvoting platform that literally runs on twitter. There are obviously advantages and disadvantages to this play. Overall, the pros far outweigh the cons in my mind. 1. In what ways did Twitter's free speech affect an upvote project?

2. We will build out a confidence score for every user. It's very easy to pick up a bot account from a real one. If an account has a confidence score of below 70 (failing) then those users are not eligible for a payout. All payouts at the moment are manually approved. At scale our algorithm will choose who's real and who isn't. Users who feel they have accidentally been flagged can contact support for manual review once this process is live.

5. We will explore a compliant way to launch our own token to fuel WEB3 growth for the platform.
I would not support this or any other project that immediately goes in the direction of making its own token, as if there aren't too many already. All this tokenization is so meaningless to me, not to mention how much damage it does to Bitcoin itself.
In light of recent events with Twitters new commitment to free speech and its new owner I have decided to relaunch UpTweet.com!
I guess I'm one of the few (perhaps the only one) on this forum who publicly promotes the deletion of Twitter and I certainly support alternatives, but the whole thing must be clean and transparent, without any tokens and similar nonsense. Although, knowing people who navigate the digital roads of the endless Internet, I have absolutely no faith in the fact that they want an alternative to what exists now, even if the devil himself became the CEO of that platform.
If you read what I said we are absolutely not immediately going into creating our own token.
I have been in this space for 11 years... If I wanted to rush a token out of UpTweet I could have done it a long time ago.
We will only build out a token if it's legally compliant, makes sense, and actually adds value to the ecosystem.
Bitcoin is king and we are well aware of that.

If you want to look for investment I guess posting on the Project Development board would be a good idea. As long as your project has a solid background and history, which most projects lack these days, the interest should be good. However, there are also a dozen of competitor out there with the same idea which sadly failed to compete with Twitter due to many reasons. You should point out why your service is different, other than being the "first" to get mainstream.

Many Tweeters wish they got paid for their time and content. Now, nevertheless, staying down for this long, it's the best moment for uptweet to strive. Well, I have a question, Is it a tradition for all tweets to get upvotes? And what price do you intend to pay per upvote?
Excellent question! So here's how it works:
1. The platform has a global retweet rate that pays content creators .001-50 cents per retweet depending on how well the platform is doing with advertising revenue (fluctuates).
2. Content creators only get paid for real retweets. Retweets are UpTweets and UpTweets are Retweets (they're one in the same). The only difference is that on our platform an UpTweet gets you higher up on the list. We have manual verification of all payouts and will be building algorithms to further verify and automate the payout processes.
3. Sponsors however can choose how much to payout per tweet. For instance if Coca-cola wanted to advertise with us, they could put a budget of $1 per retweet, and every-time someone tweets that Coca-cola post, they get paid $1 in their crypto of choice directly to their wallet. We can further gamify this by offering a BONUS if users choose to cash out with our own native token (not released yet).
4. Finally, we have a feature already-built in the existing app that also lets sponsors pay PER FOLLOWING instead of per retweet. What this means is if a large influencer were to come on the site and participate in a campaign, they would get paid for all the followers they have on their account, verses $1 for a tweet.

I have few doubt about free speech commitment. For example, parody/joke about Elon Musk got punished[1] along with some censorship attempt[2].

1. The volatility problem will still be there yes, but still way more manageable than it was in 2013 lol. In the future we will create pricing algorithms on the site so that the global payout rate is always in line with dollar value. For now the rate is set manually by us.
2. I do believe Elon has a serious commitment to free speech. Otherwise, why would he overpay $44 billion for a money losing company? I am following the money on this one... The free speech updates will take time, and have to be implemented in a controlled fashion. Many free thinkers are already being let back on the platform with many more to come.
3. Yes, we do have plans to support the lightning network at some point in the future. We are not Bitcoin core maximalists, but we do believe Bitcoin is king.
