GPU Rejected Share question
by
FloridaCoin
on 21/02/2018, 23:08:17 UTC
I have been looking for a reason for this error. I have one of my Zotac 1070ti AMP editions that keeps getting this error "GPU4 rejected share: [23, "low difficulty share of 0.062499046325683594"]". I am running 5  - 1070ti at 200 core/1000 mem/105w and 1 - 1060 at 200 core/750 mem/105w. I am mining on Suprnova pools. I have moved the GPU to other positions, changed the riser and adjusted the OC up or down.

I am still a newbie at crypto mining so any help or pointers would be appreciated.

H81 Pro BTC MB
8GB Ram
G3250 Pentium
Ver 008S Risers
1000w EVGA PSU
SMOS 32gb USB3 stick
DSTM 0.5.8 (equihash)

Thank you.

There are very much "Give us this and give us that". Please take your 2% and go to EWBF and stop bitching like an immature child.

I wonder how long any of us would work for no pay? Developers want to get paid for thier work the same as we expect to be compensated when we work. Costs and Fees are just a normal part of commerce.

DSTM keep developing and supporting the program and my little miners will happily send you your pay.

Here in NE Florida there were 3 cards listed this morning. Nothing worth checking out.

Re: Are 1070 TI's the next best GPU for mining? 4.7 sols per watt
by
FloridaCoin

Original post was actually 106 watts - all of my 1070 ti cards right now are set in the 104-106 range to allow the rig to hit my "6 amp draw" target.
Anywhere from 100 to 110 watts has given very similar efficiency, though 104 *seems* to be the sweet spot by a hair.

+200 +700 has stood up so far as "best" for the clock settings - higher = unstable rig, lower loses a little hashrate.

Keep in mind that my sample size is still pretty small - a few EVGA SC models and one Zotec Mini, though I DID just get a MSI Turbo card in that will be going into my next "rig rebuild" project probably tomorrow.

I have 5 Zotac 1070ti AMP editions running since thanksgiving. One of these days I will get the last 1070ti for this rig. I have my eyes on the MSI Titainium 1070ti's for my new rig.

QuintLeo,
Have you what OC settings are you running on your 1070ti rig? I am following your original posted settings of 108w/+200 core/+700 mem. I am getting 4.4 Sol/w avg. on DSTM 5.7 in SMOS.

I am running 5-1070ti Zotacs at +200 core, +700 memory, 60% power (108w). You can look for an excellent write up on the 1070ti by QuintLeo. I got the settings I am using from his post.

I am getting 2400 H/s on equihash.

Doesn't SMOS use EBWF not DSTM?

Simpleminer-NV-v1118-kernel4.11.12-nvidia384.59-noaer has both DSTM v0.5.6 and EWBF-0.3.4b available for use. I was using the latest BBT's Multu-Miner on windows.

Rookie observation and question here.

I have been running SMOS with 5 Zotac 1070ti AMP editions (Micron). Today I loaded up windows 10 (1703)(Afterburner)(Nvidia driver 388.71) and ran DSTM and noticed that I was getting about +.2-.4 sol/w difference then I get in SMOS with the same setings. +200core / +700mem / 110w.
In SMOS I am seeing 4.29 to 4.37 sol/w.
In windows I was seeing 4.4 to 4.7 sol/w.

Is it normal to see a performance difference between OS's? Drivers? I was always taught if your going to drive it you need to know how it works, how to fix it and most of all how to make it go faster  Grin

Thoughts on repurposing my old computers
by
FloridaCoin
on 23/12/2017, 17:06:34 UTC
I have upgraded my personal computer during the black friday sales and was thinking of turning it into another 6-8 card mining rig.

The specs on that machine are:
I5-4670k or (I3-4130 <--spare)
8gb DDR3-1600
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming MB

Has anyone had any experience with this motherboard? or would you sell off the system and by newer hardware? I was curious because it has 7 PCI-E slots. I would most likely run SMOS for the OS.

hmmm my results are a little better on DSTM vs EWBF

I messed around with my latest zotac 1070 ti mini's for awhile and I never really got them above 4.3 sols/watt -- im no OC guru though / I'm at
175 core 700 memory and 110 watts on DSTM

Like your input and mindset here + by the time the new cards roll out I imagine everyone buying now could have made their money back lol so why wait Cheesy

I am getting about the same sol/watt as Vosk on all of my Zotac 1070ti AMP editions running DSTM (+200 core / +700 mem / 115w)(Micron memory). They have been running stable since I put this rig together. I have one more open slot on this rig I am debating on trying an EVGA card this time.

Good Morning,

I have a couple of questions from an old newbie. lol it's all Vosk's fault  Grin

1. I am going to be building my first 3X 1080ti mining rig. (No Risers)
2. Which model 1080ti's are reccomended? Is it worh throwing a mini in the line up?
3. I am wanting to build it on a ryzen 1700 processor and motherboard, which mobo would you use?
4. What size PSU would you install on it?

On a side note this unit will be living in the garage year round. Do you think it will be able to survive out there without climate control?
We get freezing temps a few weeks total time in the winter. My biggest concern is the summer with high 90's and 80-90% humidity.

Thank you in advance for any information you can toss my way.

Have a nice Sunday.
