Re: [ANN]Cryptocurrency's killer app: disrupting web ads via RaiBlocks micropayments

The devs should fix the wallet/sync issues first and i think this is the only roadblock. If you guys have noticed the trading in back cryptopia for XRB, it was very active and active trades equals profit for exchange sites.

If other exchange sites list those dead/scam coins, I don't see a reason why they won't accept XRB (in the future).

The devs fixed the wallet/sync issues. A lot of people haven't upgraded. Even cryptopia is on the old version.

After two days of syncing my wallet is stuck at block 183325 (361251). How can I safely withdraw my coins from cryptopia?

1 - backup your seed account somewhere
2 - intall the 7.8.2 and launch it , unlock it and wait 30mn if its not syncing
empty your %USERNAME%/appdata/local/Raiblocks folders
relaunch the wallet and wait 30mn to sync
reload you backuped seed wallet

For me relaunching the 7.8.2 about 4 times in space of 2 hours does thee trick

Why should people have to "relaunch" a wallet 4 times to maybe get it to sync?
Why should anyone "wait 30 minutes"?
Why would the wallet be "locked" by default which you claim inhibits syncing?
Why no sync PERCENTAGE indicator?

Otherwise, the wallet is interesting and has some very nice features... so poor usability is unfortunate.

Cryptopia is a very highly respected, rock solid exchange which is going to overtake Bittrex soon...
I want all new, innovative alts to succeed... but XRB will now have a long uphill battle  Angry

It is a new type of coin. New things have bugs. At least the devs have been working hard on this issue. I bet it will improve a lot over time.

What you want is a typical clone coin that just works because nothing new was tried.

Try fonziecoin. It is exactly that.

What are the main critiques of LISK? What is the main value?

I keep hearing people say its shit and great but not a lot of reasons for each (besides price is way down, but they have a lot of BTC).

I am looking for what is the TECHNICAL VALUE for lisk to exist vs ZEC, ETH, DCR etc.

Main critiques: devs doing nothing

Main Value: none

novaexchange should probably add MRAI.

Will help get some volume on their there

Tux too. They want to make a name for themselves. They are betting on pepecash, but RAI is going to be the big winner summer 2017.

XRB / BTC market is paused

Due to excessive support load from recaptcha click farmers, death threats to support, account abuse, deposit spamming and network syncing issue Cryptopia have been forced to close the XRB markets, We do apologize for the way this has happened but the safety of our other users and Cryptopia staff must take precedence over a single coins abusive community, Please close all open orders and withdraw ASAP"

who the fuck gave death threats to Cryptopia support?

Fucking hell.... Roll Eyes

3rd world hobos who spam captchas instead of going back to the fields, but to be fair, cryptopia doesn't seem to be very professional in this case. They should just block accounts who spam them or give death threats instead of actually delisting a coin that gives them volume and has a good future ahead techwise.

Also someone mentioned that the minimum deposit should be raised to 500-1000 to filter out people who mine to the deposit address. So many things could have been done instead of instantly delisting a valuable porject for a few toxic individuals.

Go ask ur mutter to take u some milk from that saggy boob. U sound like a pantcrapper, like a little italian hobo with no basic understanding of whats the aim of being involved with crypto, all u can do is beg ur comrades to stop sending death treats to certain characters. Did u know that compelling someone to stop doing what they like to do is equal to stealing their personal freedom. Someone likes to death threat someone else, stay away and dont intrude on their comfort zone. Let them threat each other if they please so. What u are doing is worse than world war II, 1920s hunger strikes and homo beating.

No one can tell which side you are taking. It is just nonsensical rambling. Do you like or dislike hobos?

Everybody can see that :
1/ The coin is old, older than most but was never traded in exchanges. Usually, exchanges make minimal research, before listing, and they didn't list XRB before. It seems the chain was broken at some points, as i noticed. By chance, was the code audited since ?

The dev probably laid low for a long time. Maybe solving catchpas and building his stash of his own coin. That's fine with me and a pretty smart move as well. This coin is 100% distributed from solving captchas so to get an interest in it, the dev needed time off from developing in order to build his interest in the accepted way.

I think it's great. Others will complain. But what else can he do? It is an open source project.

2/ Developments were rare, it seems. Dev, at one point, disappeared. The last developments are from the community.  How reliable is the dev. now ? What was the explanation for quitting at some stage ?

How reliable is any dev? It is up to the coin and community. If the market cap falls flat, maybe he will disappear. If the coin gets listed at bigger exchanges and he can turn his interest into a salary, then the coin will do well.

Like everything in life from riding in a car to eating food to taking a bath, it involves risk. The question is how well can you read the dev?

Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★
by
Fonziecoin
on 28/11/2015, 07:28:07 UTC

CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY

REPLACEBYFEE

Here, I'll quote for you, because we all know clicking is hard for millennials.

I'm sure if early investors knew that VIA was becoming a glorified token to further development work on Bitcoin and Drak's OKCoin account they would have though twice about investing. Saying "well the code will be featured in Viacoin too!" is such a copout. If they wanted to beg for BTC to further develop Bitcoin then be upfront about it, but pitching us a new alt coin that claims to fix the problems of Bitcoin while taking these solutions to Bitcoin is deceptive.

The whole selling point of Viacoin was to do things on its chain that Bitcoin core devs supposedly refuse to implement. Yet suddenly every innovation produced for VIA is actually getting in the Bitcoin code, which makes the original argument for VIA's existence null and void.

Look I know Drak, Todd and you Icebreaker are a bunch of autists who don't think like normal human beings and you think it is perfectly acceptable to ask for almost half a million dollars for a few hundred lines of code but some of us live in the real world where such obscene salaries would normally command in the business world at the minimum a 50-60 hour work week for a whole year and personal cell phone access on the weekends.

This business of Drak getting on twitter everyday, yacking about what is going on in whaleclub, and accusing Gavin of driving people to suicide and then occasionally popping in once a month to write a line or two here and contributing little to the Viacoin github is unacceptable. I'd fired his ass a long time ago if he was on my staff.

The question is has he delivered 600 BTC worth of work and effort into Via? the answer is a solid NO.

What's funny is you got guys like Dave Zimbeck who himself alone built Bithalo, Nighttrader, a working decentralized marketplace with Bitbay, 2-party smart contracts and is in the process of finalizing pegging and all while managing to stay active with his community on an at-least weekly basis and yet he gets called the scammer!

This whole place really is like high school made up of cliques.

What makes this critique sting so badly is that the truth pokes out sharply in places.

Btcdrak's explanation that the pathway of innovation flows from bitcoin to viacoin is disheartening.

Can there be a philosophy change with VIA? Alts should be an incubator for groundbreaking technology, not merely a test tube for incremental improvements to bitcoin itself.

We will be changing the ticker symbol form XFC to FONZ since the other coin with the XFC ticker remains listed at C-CEX.

The repository will be updated soon. This change will also be reflected in any future releases.

Blockchain still has some good connections and running smoothly.  What's the latest here?

This is FonzieCoin. You're summary of the latest news is perfect: The network has good connections and the chain is advancing smoothly. Would you expect a coin named "FonzieCoin" to behave any differently?

Now on 20 sat. How many coins exist after POW?
(i saw something around 500 M coins.... it would mean 100 BTC marcet cap now... It seems quiet high for now. Any reason for it?)

The current supply is 260,490,278 XFC.

I haven't made any announcements about anything. Mining is over and the supply came out to a little more than half what was expected.

This is a very fair coin. Maybe the buyers feel like the worst they can do is break even?

They look so official and totally not photoshopped right?

You have to photoshop an ID badge? No color printers in Poland?

If you are going to fud, you must do better than this.
