I can imagine that it's easy to get pumped up about the lawsuit. But check out the misery in Hashfast thread to see that the only people getting money from that ordeal are lawyers.

I ordered 2nd batch (November) Jupiter a while back. When I saw that BTC price dropped from 300 to 200 I chickened out and cancelled the order. Then, while waiting for refund via Paypal, the BTC price started to go up. I realized that I made a mistake. I sent them an email saying, that since I still didn't receive a refund, to please cancel my cancellation, that is, I wanted to keep my order. I hoped that since they didn't open up a sale for my cancelled Jupiter, they'll let me do that as a nice gesture towards a previous customer (I had an October Saturn). But they didn't do it, and returned my money the same day. That's when I realized that they don't really care much about previous customers.
Among other things I wished were different with KNC:
- They delayed October shipments a bit, I think mainly due to reports of fire, so I don't blame them for that (I blame those who burnt their miners  Angry ).
- They stopped allowing paypal/credit card payments.

But I realize that they are not a charity, so they do what's best for them. I was quite a bit worried during the October wait that once they finally produce valuable machines, they will either not send them to customers, or delay significantly. So, they were honorable in that respect and I really appreciate that. That outweighs many of their negatives in my opinion. Plus, I was lucky that stuff I got from them performed fairly well.
I don't really care that they didn't open up sales for more upgrade modules (i would have bought just one and it wouldn't have made much difference), or more Jupiters (they would've priced them too high). I don't have a Neptune order and I don't plan to order any more mining equipment with them, or anyone else for that matter. So I don't really care how they will treat their Neptune or other customers  Cool. Yes, they could've become more arrogant now, but they left me with some good memories (like that time when they were bringing up the chip overnight and also when I finally received my miner), that's all that matters to me. So thanks KNC.
Needed to get this off my chest.

Anyone else upgrade to new firmware on Oct. Jupiter? Any hashing success or failure?? I see one failure so far.....

October 5-headed monkey. After upgrade, it performed worse (~730 GH) than previously overclocked (I used simple "221", was ~790GH at the pool). But better than previous firmware with default settings (without overclocking).

Can anyone show a realistic projection where the Neptune makes back the initial BTC in 6 months with a delivery past April?

the only way i see it is IF they offer the 6 month of virutal hosting on the neptune for FREE for those 6 months (and of course would have to be up front about what the next 6 months at cost would be before hand) and if BTC goes above 1500 usd a coin

and the above i just stated actually looks more like just getting ROI as a profit

you got to assume the same time they are virtually hosting your units they are SELLING CLOUD HOSTING

that is what screws up the whole equation in my book

can't even get the equip your due ..ie i'd just like to host 1 month or until you ship my unit

sounds like  wait for your unit or do the 6 month contract for free kinda thing to me

not even a fall back on selling the equip as a bail after you start hashing from the above

again you have options sure...but seems they'd prefer you to virtual hash for 6 months and keep the Neptunes in hand and they can then double dip

serve us and expand into cloud hashing ...but man looks like my neptune would get run over by a steam roller whatever version virtual or physical in such a plan

my 2c worth (again i know zip)

Searing

Aw, cut the bullshit. Just start with a new name and don't fuck up like you did with Bitcoin_UK. "searing" was a pretty impressive personality you built though, i'll give you that.

Wow, this thread opened my eyes quite a bit. Even though I still don't understand who is who in this situation, one thing I learned for sure. I won't trust anyone in this forum. "Searing situation" is also quite amazing. But I still like his British? humor here and there.

blockchain.info will refund to the sender after 36-48 hours or so if no miner is kind enough to include it in a block.

Troll much, or are you just misinformed?
You have a different answer?
Please utter it.
2 bashes now on Paladin69, (who was nice enough to answer)
...without ANY explanation....
**** Thanks guys...
I really feel informed now...

The easiest option is to continue to wait.  No, an "automatic refund" will never happen.

The only other option, which requires a good bit of technical skill, is for the sender to manually create a new transaction that spends the same inputs, but also includes a tx fee, and hope a miner picks that one up instead (which will then invalidate the original transaction).

Technically you could say the funds are still in the sender's wallet, but since the transaction has been broadcast, a miner could pick it up at any time and move the funds out to their intended destination address.
That makes sense...
Wish I could add that doggone fee...

Thank you for responding...

The same thing happened to me, but for much smaller amount. I took older copy of my wallet and it got "refunded", it doesn't show this transaction in my wallet now, but is still in the blockchain with 0 confirmations. So, I am not sure whether I have access to all of my balance shown in bitcoin-qt or not.

Maybe I should ask for some compensation too  Roll Eyes
I would have loved to have my miner a few days earlier also.
In reality, I think they did a great job in general so I will not bitch about it. I can just imagine the stress they had to go through after receiving the chips. Marcus' hair is now grey, probably. Granted, my unit didn't have much problems, and I feel sorry for those who had.

Are you guys kidding?
I was contemplating a November Jupiter...
and went thru the numbers, and made all the predictions in my usual way, and I came to the conclusion, that a November Jupiter is definitely worth it, and spent the 17.6 BTC, of my 27BTC I made in the first 20 days, to order it moments ago....
And I'm stoked about it...
Think about it...
The November units may even deliver before HF & CT get their act together!

In a hindsight, it must suck to lose about a thousand bucks in less than day.

Thanks ckolivas, I think I see quite an improvement for my Saturn (at least extra 10gh at the pool). If it stays like this, I hope to finally start reclaiming my life.

Here is what sucks, it's like a Ponzi. Only those getting refunds early (through suing or other means) may be compensated. After they declare bankruptcy (as they will not have enough money to refund everyone), the rest are screwed.

Anyone willing to run their unit with chip fans removed along with me? 'Cause it's a bit nerve-racking, and it will make me feel a bit easier.

ATTENTION PEOPLE WITH DISABLING CORES OR HIGH ERROR RATES:

I got my Saturn a few days back. Didn't hear any noise from possibly loose fans or anything. Hooked it up, ran it for a few hours, it was underperforming a little bit and showed disabling cores on one die. Went to Walmart, bought a new fan and torx screwdrivers, opened the case and saw that one of the fans' ground was disconnected and fan wasn't spinning. Got scared of course and thought that my disabled cores were the result of that few hours of running without a fan (although temperatures never exceeded 60 degrees). Connected the ground, fan started spinning. Anyway, these cores disabling on one of the dies continued on and it was really bugging me. Tried enablecores, changing firmwares etc, nothing helped. Today I found enough courage to start messing with it a little bit deeper. Found out which board was disabling cores (and it was not the one which had fan disabled), changed slots, pushed down on vrm's as some suggested. Heard a click on two of them, and thought, that's it. Put everything back together but the core disabling continued. I was very short from starting messing with resistors on the back of the pcb behind the chip, when it came to me, so here what I suggest you try:
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any loss of warranty or other issues as the result of doing this.
1. Find out which asic is giving you problems (just counting, for ex if 0-131 is disabled, then that's the one connected to the first slot)
2. Shutdown the miner, and then REMOVE the fan (but not the radiator) cooling that chip (unscrew and then it pops out, or just unplug the power to that fan), turn off your own cooling if you added any.
Turn on your miner.

One by one cores enabled and I have 0 disabled cores for about an hour now and hardware error rate is steadily falling. Temperature is at about 58 right now on that chip without the fan, so I reckoned it's not too bad. It appears that kncminers from cold Sweden like warm weather.

If this helps, donations are appreciated Smiley

My shipment appears to be sitting in OH with the following status:
Quote
12    Clearance event    CINCINNATI HUB, OH - USA    4:48 AM

Under "Further Details":
Quote
The Clearance process for this shipment is on-going with additional details required for clearance

and under "Next Step":
Quote
The clearance process will continue once the additional details are provided for clearance

Is this something out of the ordinary, or do all international shipments to the US go through this?

I just hope it doesn't end up being seized by customs.
