There is an pretty complete description about POS and how the weight is calculated in the Bitcoin wiki. Have no idea if the XC implementation matches this design but it should be a nice base. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Proof_of_Stake
Thanks kimmy But it still does not explain how the network weight is calculated.....
Can anybody explain how "your weight" and "network weight" is calculated ? What is the formula ?
What is relationship between those two ?
Please don't troll. Thank you
Not sure if Dan or anyone else has ever given the formula but in my experience, as your weight increases, you get closer to your next stake reward. This may not always be true though.

Can't answer you question but is has been a long time sinds if seen trolling going around here I would like to know it myself also
Yes I would like to know the exact formula too.
It seems like something like "your coin age" X "Staking amount"
But how is the "net work weight" calculated ? Is it the aggregated weight of all individual wallet weight ?
Can Dan or somebody explain this a little bit ?
Pump
Can someone help us with those questions ?
Thank you

Anyone see the trend to the accumulation bots. This can't happen forever, hint, hint... But if it does, at least the damn bot's for once are causing the coin to rise.
I've been reading up on XC and it looks solid - I bought my first 200 XC yesterday and today (woohoo!). One thing I haven't been able to figure out: if I accumulate 1000 XC and create an Xmixer, will I lose my ability to stake and only collect Xmixer fees? Or can I both stake and act as an Xmixer?
If I have to choose between running an Xmixer or stake, which do y'all think is more profitable? Thanks XCers (goats ?)!
at the moment staking is more profitable until the mixers fees are fined tuned...anyway yep you will have to choose one or the other for the moment
The goat thing started as a joke and actually still is a joke, but I think because I have been with XC(and my name is Mountaingoat) for a while now and goats are just funny in general people started using them as the official unnoficial mascot of XC.
mintpal v2 at 23th of september.. on tuesday they will write that v2 will be at 26th of september, then 29th of september on so on.. when we are planning to have XC/USD exchange?
Retweeted. To all my 626 folowers. Even i still don't know what coinjoin is, either
626 as in san gabriel valley???
You mean 626 as in san gabriel china town ?
San Gabriel? I wish I would know what are you talking here about... 626 is (was) the number of followers I've got on twitter, which since went up to 629, as of this morning
626 is the area code for that portion of Los Angeles County, California...
They have a 626 night market in orange county, california too. Hahha.
So many cali people here. I just had dinner at 626 yesterday
Final adjustments to both the XC_OS and REV2 are being completed, once that is done I will have a date for shipping.
If the delay is a concern, its possible to get I could ship sooner with the current code.
Dan
The upcoming release also brings back the minimum requirements for running as an XNode.
Running an XNode will generate profit through trustless mixing transactions as well as serving content for the CDN and future technologies.
Back to 550 XC for the Xnode? Or another figure?
hopefully lower do we want to lose the decentralised part? it is back centralised if only the rich can have Xnodes
I believe that EVERY WALLET online is an XNODE. Amount does not matter.
This is true to a point, but to enable the startup option "-xmixer" and collect fee's from trustless transactions you will need at least 550 XC's in the wallet.
I believe everybody thought that no requirements were needed for the xnodes and the anon transfers. everybody is screaming from the rooftops that every wallet is an xnode => the thing needed for anon transfers...
I should have been more clear - This requirement is only for xmixer's
every wallet is an xnode, and you can use the anon transfers with out having 550xc's
Can we have lower it to 500 XC ?
Many of us have many many many address staking at 500 XC if the requirement is 550, then we will have to increase the amount and therefore reset the timer for staking...... Thanks
probably a stupid question but: I just installed the XC app (windows) and it keeps saying 0 active connections?? What am I doing wrong? Do I have to configure anything else? Have tried to disable my firewall but still no connections... thx
I had this problem before. Make sure your Norton 360 or similar anti-virus program is turn ON. They wont let you conncect if it's not on for some reason. As soon as i turn it on , my wallet can connect. Let me know if this works.
