That begs the question, where does the NLG come from? Nocks is the seller. They may call it different things now but that was the setup

At this moment there are 477M Gulden in existence of which 415M are circulating.
Of those 477M 190M was created in 2014 and the other 248M are since then found by miners as blockreward, that's where the NLG do come from, miners. Oh, and witnesses nowadays.

I could explain how some of those Gulden that Nocks sells come on Nocks but it would feel awkward to do so.  Nocks is an exchange.

Nocks is not a store that hangs a pricetag on a product at a price they see fit.
It's an exchange where the price is determined by supply and demand.
See https://www.nocks.com/trade/NLG-EUR

Now as an extra service you can buy Gulden at Nocks using iDeal or Bancontact but that's a frontend where you actually do a marketbuy on the exchange.

If you own a Raspberry and have GuldenD running on it there are some settings that could influence how well it works.
If you are totaly unfamiliar with navigating a linux systme from the commandline and your RPI is working fine you do not have to do anything, if it ain't broken don't fix it.
For these changes you need access to the commandline, either via VNC, SSH or by connecting a keyboard and monitor (TV with HDMI will work fine) to it.  Then edit the file Gulden.conf using the command:
`nano /opt/gulden/datadir/Gulden.conf`

1) When Phase-3 went live there were problems with high CPU and memory usage.  We found some workarounds by then that alleviated the problem but are not necessary anymore since version 2.0.0.9 (Or even counterproductive now):
----------
maxmempool=20       <-- remove
dbcache=20                <-- remove
maxsigcachesize=4    <-- remove
rpcthreads=1              <-- remove
par=2                           <-- remove
minimallogging=1       <-- remove, this is now the default on RPIs

2) 'tweaks' that _are_ usefull on RPIs.  (If you made changes to these before please check the values given below)
---------
maxreceivebuffer=1024   <---- default = 5000 which is a bit high imo (5MB).
maxsendbuffer=256         <---- 512 is also fine.
maxconnections=60         <---- Around 50 or 60 is fine.  Do not go higher than 75 on an RPI unless you know what you are doing.

These settings also apply on more beefy nodes running on a VPS although there you can go way higher on maxconnections= but that depends on how powerfull your (virtual) CPUs actually are.

3) Add the adress of one or two (more than two is not necessary) known stable and up to date nodes.  By doing this your node connects to this one first which means it will probably elect it as the 'preferred download'.
----------
addnode=83.161.66.135
addnode=185.167.206.35

All of these also apply for beefier nodes running on VPSes and whatnot with the exeption of 'maxconnections='.  More powerfull machines can go with a much higher number there depending on the exact power of your (virtual) CPUs.  400 or more is cool if it's faster than an Intel Atom and has 2GB RAM (ymmv).

I saw this article in German language but do not know if it is interesting or not?

https://www.bitcoinmag.de/gulden/gulden-kaufen

In general the article is fine.
One flaw is that the article classifies Yobit as suited for something which would be a bit far stretched.

I had Mammon in Support-Chat through the website yesterday and we walked through the steps to solve his problem.
He hasn't returned so for now I asume the problem is solved.

Version 2.0.0.11 of the desktopwallet has just been released.

This is a recommended update for everybody, especially if you have witnessaccounts.

You can download it from the usual places:
Gulden.com/download or github.com/Gulden/gulden-official/releases/tag/v2.0.0.11

⭐ Merited by Poloherb (1)

12th July the PoW reward will drop to 80 if the miners have upgraded?

IF. Than, Yes.

Actually: NO

On July 12th 2018 - 16::00 UTC upgraded miners will be able to begin signalling their upgrade status in the blocks they mine. Every 2016 blocks (roughly 3.5 days) the quantity of upgraded blocks is measured and once a sufficient percentage signal upgrade Phase 2 will become "locked in"; after this another 2016 blocks window period is allowed before Phase 2 becomes fully activated.

When Phase 2 activates the witnesses can start filling their witnessing acounts and when the threshhold for the amount is reached Phase 3 will activate, and THAT is the moment PoW-reward will change from 100 to 80.

See: https://github.com/Gulden/gulden-official/blob/master/technical_documentation/PoW2_activation.md

Gulden iOS Development Update

These guys are getting the hang of it, tease away Boys!! 👊

http://guldenbites.com/2018/02/28/ios-development-update/

Why did they break from the PoW2 release to do iOS?

They have a dedicated mobile wallet developer. So he’s doing his part.

That is a relief, this wouldn't of caused any delays on the PoW2 release then?

No, this wouldn't have.
After the release of PoW2 and Segsig the wallet still needs to be able to read the blockchain as it is now, so all the backwards compatible code is there anyway.
This IOS-release will basically have many of the good things (like UI-improvements and codebasecleanups and bugfixes) that 2.0 will also have but without the 2.0 specific features present/activated.   A somewhat clean codebase is modular so this is relatively easy to do.  Also one might regard it as a partial sneakpreview.

Great, I show that stating Gulden is not a company to be false by providing a printout of the Dutch chamber of commerce that clearly proves it IS A COMPANY

So RichPissman came up with proof that a company named Gulden.com B.V. does exist.  That wasn't a secret.

If one looks close at the proof (From the dutch CoC) one can see that it was founded in nov aug 2017.  So the first 3 years there was no company simply because it wasn't needed during all that time.
The company was registered because of a particular issue that needed solving for which a company was required instead of only a natural person.

Some bad mention about Gulden on national television the big crypto show by RTLZ

https://youtu.be/ZgiIIwcyvik?t=1140

What a bunch of loosers, got in Crypto 3 days ago and think they are Legends...I only see two little bitches!
They will eat their words in a few days..

Bonuspoints: one of the two works at the company which is the main sponsor for the very TV-program.
Then again, it was a quick question about personal opinion about a quick list of coins mentioned which makes good TV for the n00bs with a tie.

The minimum amount of coins is 5,000 coins to witness.

The minimum amount of Gulden to be able to witness is:
-   5000 Gulden for a period of at least 331 days.
- 10000 Gulden for a period of at least 1 month (30/31 days?)

I downloaded Mac wallet 2 days before, and install. sync until 24 % then stop and says no block source available ..... how to solve this problem..

tq

What works is this trick::
1.) Go to Menu > Help > Debugscreen
2.) Choose the tab 'Console'
3.) Type this: `addnode 83.161.66.135 add` and press

Looks like this:
https://gyazo.com/1ea1490a702be175e039b94d90d6126e

It might take 1 or 2 minutes but after that you should see at least one peer and the tab networktrafic should show some activity.

I really doubt Gulden has any use case in a world of blockchain. Just another token based on a flimsy concept? That is my impression.
Buy something which actually has utility.

Mwoh, I just payed my real lunch in a real lunchroom out here in the real world.
Use case?  Check.

And apparently the update is going to remain closed source, so none of the other far more successful coins can steal this awesome super duper secret technology.

Had you paid more attention you might have noticed the sourcecode is and will be available for viewing, reviewing, compiling and what not.
Just not free to use/steal/implement by other coins.

Those values in $ are correct.
At that moment in time there was that difference between Bittrex and Nocks, which is fine.  It has been the other way around too.

Today I have noticed Gulden is ranked 146 on www.coinmarketcap.com

This CMC is -a- way to benchmark one coin against others. Each may decide for himself how valuable this tool is and how comparable one coin is to others.
Just for fun go to CMC, click on [Coins] and select Filter_Non-Minable, Gulden ranks differently there, for what it's worth.

That "Polymerbit 1000 GULDEN" note looks nice. Does anyone know how it works? How do you charge/load it with the 1k NLG?
On their website there is no information about it.

It's meant as a cold storage.
You load Gulden on a wallet, write the recovery phrase on the note, doublecheck, cover with tamperproof sticker and you have cold storage, delete wallet from device.
Can be seen as a collectors item too since they do look very cool.
