Ok, I think everyone is in agreement that a new, uncluttered thread is called for at this point. I'm gonna give everyone some more time to state their opinons on things since there seem to be quite a few coming in and not everyone has had a chance yet.
As for difficulty, I see it like an exchange price history graph, ups and downs, but as long as it settles at a higher level than before, we are still growing.

waltsmith

here's what i advise, NO POOL SPAM, no auction/prize crap if its not officially from the dev team, both get reported as spam.
Pools should be listed by least amount of fees and best payouts.
Each official reply from dev/helpers should also add it to "FAQ" on the offical forum and link to it for further help. this way we can further slim down the new thread. that forum is setup with the intent to help people without a cluster of crap in one post.
in short lets keep the new thread clean, slimmed down, and push people more to using the official site/forum.
if any help is needed to facilitate this, i'm in to help. i've personally ran and managed many forums in my life, i'm here to help Smiley
I'm a single card miner till i can afford more. cant work due to health issues, so i've got nothing but time on my hands.

if you support these ideas feel free to kick a little donation of gpucoin my way Cheesy GgtBjcMmsAFbMdYxVaU4uKAzggy6RvE44S

Just sent 2500 GPUC your way. Hope you feel better soon.

My ISP blocks gpucoin.net  Huh Huh

here too
I use hotspotshield for access to the site

LOL... which country?

I'm in North Carolina.. USSA. The IP must have been owned prior by somebody evil.

go into your DNS settings and add the domain manually to the allowed list. Or change your DNS settings completely to OPENDNS

I hope someone with deep pockets can pump up the price just before the store opens so that the store is not pricing on the 20 sats this coins is selling for now.

If that happens there will be no incentive for the price to raise because it will not be a discount to be had.

  Thoughts?

Well, dev can easily push the price of the coin up by simply forcing the price conversion (like 50 satoshi, or 100 satoshi) instead of following market value.
That was the whole point of having the store in the first place, wasn't it?

IT makes sense but I remember reading somewhere that he was going to price the GPUs are current value.  If he prices for 50 or 100 sats there is a risk that he will not be able to sell them for that once the units are sold.  I honestly am not convinced this idea will work.  Or maybe I am just getting impatient Smiley

  Phad

Wrong. He is pricing the GPUs based on the market rate against USD. The incentive for pumping it is with the miners/IPO investors and traders who got it to bid it up in order to get the GPU for less. I've got 600k so far. These difficulty rates won't last forever. Get em cheap while you can.

I have no issue with being incorrect; however, there was an announcement on the main waffle site stating that it would be taking advantage of the 2x rewards. Every time the ghash.io jumps, waffle hash loses 20gh. Could be a single miner or could be proxying to ghash. I'm just going on observation and the announcement.
It's a Chinese group - they have posted on these forums as 'sfire' - that is moving the ~20GH/s back and forth.  PoolWaffle disabled proxying to GHash as soon as they implemented the tiered bonus scheme.

@PoolWaffle: WafflePool's profitability does seem to consistently climb a bit whenever sfire leaves.  Is this really just due to luck?  Seems weird to me.

No, it is basic economic. Less dumping of coins on market at once = higher price per coin for the rest of us.

The multipool works off taking advantage of arbitrage opportunities. There is a finite # of arbitrage opportunities given that large dumps drop prices. There are also a finite number of buyers (that doesn't increase proportionately to the sellers in this case). The smaller the dumps, the higher the price of the sell. It is marginal but still an increase nonetheless.

Yes, that would certainly be irrefutable if we were the only multipool.  But we are most certainly not, and if you review our earnings log you will see that we are still mining litecoin at times suggesting that opportunities for arbitrage are few and even then the margins are very slim.  I would propose that any advantage for us would be very small and indistinguishable from the effects of the "luck" component in mining.  At current, a much greater advantage to us is that dogecoin variable block rewards are still on the table.  I wonder what will happen to our earnings rate in a couple days?  And what our earnings log will look like then?

In other words, the profitability of arbitrage is inversely proportional to the efficiency of the market.  In a 100% efficient market, there are zero opportunities for arbitrage.  The rise of multipools, at least within the scrypt mining domain, has led to an exceedingly efficient market, thereby reducing the value of arbitrage within the scrypt market.  For arbitrage to continue to yield profits, scope must be expanded outwards from scrypt into scrypt adjacent markets  There are currently tremendous market inefficiencies in that realm.

scrypt-n multipool would be a good start

ocnsidering wp, is our btc/1mh increases when total hashrate lowers?

It should.

Oh, please please please do explain your reasoning for believing that!

don't you see that they are doing it right now? some family business in gb for starters. and not them directly. next gen will be some family business in us... may be.

What you are doing right now is trying to change the topic because you have recognized that you cannot find any way to demonstrate intelligence on the subject we were discussing.  It is a good tactic, but will not work with me.  I now return this thread back to the topics which should be relevant and interesting to its subscribers.

ok. as you wish. but i am not intelligent enough to tell for sure how much did my post changed the topic from previous post of yours.

Before the "you're racist" bell ringers start chiming in, perhaps they should use google to learn how common it is for some Chinese manufacturers to run special midnight ghost shifts producing counterfeit versions of foreign trademarked products on the very same manufacturing lines that produce the authorized ones, not to mention production of so many other counterfeit goods.  If counterfeiting is so

are you racist?)) greed has no skin colour. if i even was of rainbow colour and of unicorn race, i would presale something that i could use (for testing purposes of course) for profit.

Racism has nothing to do with it. That's where these are manufactured and are being run.

Many stores sell hardware with bitcoin.  I would not have invested in this.

This is an idea that creates a new niche - and since it is one of the first I believe it will be successful.

"crapcoins" are coins that have nothing supporting it, no real service - this is definitely not one of them.

+1. It is a viable economic model in which transaction fees, taxes and many other costs associated with buying/selling of video cards. I think this coin is going to do well.

Just as an aside, Either the CEO paid atomic-trade to list GPUCoin or he himself is trading there but there have been sizable orders up since b4 any blocks matured.

Atomic trade lists just about anything new so that might not be the case.

Just confirming. Has anyone withdrawn their GPU from a pool and had it hit wallet yet? I've not had anything hit wallet yet, and I cashed out quite a while ago.

I usually send 1 coin first to see if it works.

Makes sense. What do you do if it doesn't work, as far as getting the rest out?

Right now, there's a withdrawal issue on dedicatedpool. Not sure if that is effecting other pools.
