Re: [ANN][DAO] 🚂 The Movement | Unstoppable Organisation | Airdrop Ends 31.8

So, activity currently has no specific released rubric. This does not surprise me. Whoever the dev(s) are, this sort of thing goes awhile before getting addressed.
However, this does make me wonder: if someone who has posted a lot and contributed get's labelled an "idler," what is the recourse?

Will members be able to call for a vote in order to define activity levels if we don't agree with the default levels given? Furthermore, going forward will members have the ability to commence votes/referendums? It seems like we might be reaching a point where one aspect of this project is hitting some controversy, should not that be cause enough to call for a vote?

Will members have the ability to create a round of voting to deal with issues as they arise? if The Movement is member-controlled, and we cannot, through some process, be able to organize a vote to solve issues, what real power do the members have?

Just wondering!

Very exciting to see what happens with this project after August 31st!

If you are interested in joining a Space Technology/Exploration sphere, plz PM me so we can start to get organized! I would like to produce a whitepaper on how blockchain technology can help the space sector.

🚀  I applied for a Space Exploration/Promotion/Research Sphere, with an eye on how cryptocurrencies can help fund space projects and also look at whether blockchain solutions could be valuable for Space technology. Hopefully it gets listed! If anyone is interested in that kind of thing, feel free to PM me and become a part of it!  🚀

Me too... I sent my 2nd vote and a sphere application like 7 hours ago and they aren't showing up on the spreadsheet yet. Can anyone else confirm similar situations? I really want to be a part of this and don't want to get low shares due to the penalty -- I don't think I sent the second vote with the subject "Vote #00002" but I followed the correct structure in the body of the message -- will the bot ignore my vote if so? Should I do it again, or is that spam and/or trying to vote twice? I don't want to screw this up!!

I just don't know if I should be concerned or just relax and know the bot will catch up.

7. Is Voting mandatory?

Yes. You have to participate in at least one vote to verify yourself.

All Applicants on the Spreadsheet that fail to vote by Friday, 11 August 00:00 UTC, are imposed a charge of -70% Activity.

As the name of The Movement implies, this DAO is designed to operate quickly and efficiently.

Crowd-sourced from the ground up, Participants decide the future of the Movement.

Sorry to post so much put I'm a little worried and kind of confused about this... I sent my first vote in days ago, well before the deadline. Then just like an hour ago I PM'ed the second vote about the early member bonus.

Does the rule described here mean, one must send all votes before 11, Aug. 00:00 UTC, or just "at least one" vote? Cause I assumed it was the latter, but if not -- I'm pretty sure my 2nd vote was past that deadline by many hours. Am I going to get dinged -70% activity?

I agree with the AdobeWriter, I think it would be very helpful to extend the deadline until the 12th. And/Or decrease the penalty! It's hard to keep up with everything if you are deeply involved in the crypto world and also have irl jobs... Not really trying to excuse myself or anyone, but it might be better to be a bit less draconian and open. In school, at least, the common policy was to mark down a late assignment one letter grade, or 10%. Unless a late vote really, really screws up the system I just can't figure why the activity penalty is so high.

Ok, just my thoughts. Seriously though, I'm done posting for now! XD

Oh, also want to mention I voted for the Early Participant Bonus Structure.
Also I changed my sig to the The DAO Movement one and changed my web location settings on my profile... so hopefully I'll get that +5% activity bonus! Smiley

i would be pretty sure that when the tally will be made it will be retro active so all you newbies voting for 3000 wont even be considered as the newbies have to be voted in  also! that is why there is a separate pool for newbies! and only the founders can let a newbie in...
keep voting 3000 and that will certainly get my vote of VETO

I voted for 3333. An odd number, so there can be no ties. Also, this allows interesting hierarchies if people decide for it... eg: 3000 regular founders, 333 council members for sphere delegation and management, 33 elite high council members, 3 in the executive triumvirate. Or whatever, just my wild fantasy...

3000 is not a very big number, especially if The Movement grows to maybe like tens of thousands, than a hundred thousand and beyond. Also, what's being voted on is a a hard cap. If we vote to limit entry to like, the end of this month, I highly doubt we'll even reach that cap.

Re: [ANN] Denarius [DNR] - NEW "Tribus" PoW Algo >> PoW/PoS Hybrid >> Satoshi Core
by

Question... Is it true though, according to the whitescroll... eventually if demand increases enough the speed of DNR will slow down? But with 30 second blocks you still won't be waiting bitcoin length of times, but longer than the current instant wallet transfer and then ~2-3 minute confirms? How slow can it realistically get if the mempool backs up with transactions?

And, given that, it it a little irresponsible to promote this as a superfast coin? Cause right now it's lightning quick, but it's expected to slow down some degree, afaik... Personally, I think that with its low max # of coins and it's PoS features it's more interesting to me as a store of wealth, but still with the ability to spend your DNR faster than BTC.

I think it would be smart to promote it as something like "digital platinum you can spend like cash." That's a pretty cool concept, I think.

Just wondering and thinking out loud.

Tipping & Chat bot was added to the Slack as well.

Web Wallet is coming soon, 2FA is almost fully completed. A lot of users are requesting that I wait to release it until we are on NovaExchange.

edit: couldn't get on the slack, but figured out the problem... the link on the OP works fine but the link on kingcarsen's signature is defunct/erroneous.

After I release the web wallet open source I will move back into coding Denarius itself. Then some awesome advertising campaigns for twitter and signatures here will be coming!

Very exciting! Can't wait to take part! I can also help make graphics and other promotional stuff.

I have noticed I get better hash power with algo's like skein and lyra2v2 using my GeForce 1080, while it's basically pointless to try and mine scrypt coins. Anyone know which algo's work best with nvidia gpu's? Is there objective info on this? Thanks in advance.

Re: Digibyte is Dead?
by
Frobisher
on 25/06/2017, 23:11:34 UTC
I don't think it's dead. I remember when DOGE was trading for like 28 sat and people were saying it was dead. But DGB has a lot going for it, as far as I can tell. I think there was some over-exuberance that put the price over what it's worth, and we're seeing a perhaps equally irrational correction. But in my estimation it does have value and I do think it will eventually be a $1 coin. That could take a long time though, IDK.

People say stuff like "Bitcoin's great but you can't buy a cup of coffee with it." Digibyte is the kind of coin you could buy a cup of coffee with. So that's gotta be worth something.

I don't get why this isn't on Nova or Cryptopia yet... Are you just going for big exchanges? Why not start on smaller ones so it can at least have a history of market-determined value behind it? I see someone listed it to add on Nova exchange, why not use some of that huge premine to create a giveaway for voting for it?

Looks like there's a lot of miner interest in the coin, I'm sure traders would like to play around with it too.

edit: nm, looks like it's hit 250 votes already, so it will be listed soon! Awesome! Very exciting!!

Cool coin idea! I like the algo and the (relatively) low coin amount. If you can keep it a CPU-only mining coin I think that will give it a lot of value as well.
