Experiences with solarcoin
by

Soon I'll be moving to my new place where I have solar panels installed. So now I'm thinking if it would be usefull to register my  solar-installation so I can retrieve solarcoins.

Does anyone here have any experiences with solarcoins? Is it a coin that can be trusted?

Claymore v.12 in Linux after 12 hours seems pretty stable even with modded Rom

Currently this is the biggest weapon of Claymore vs the Optiminer

In Linux:
Claymore is slightly more power hungry vs Optiminer
Optiminer gives slightly bigger hashing vs Claymore

But

Claymore's stability is a winner since you don't have to be there to reboot because everything is stuck like in Optiminer (stuck to the point that you can't reboot remotely)

If Claymore breaks the 2-day straight without reboot it's the winner for me

Regardless of that Claymore thanks for a great job and that you always deliver and keep promises
This shows character...

Indeed it does. His miner has been running here stable for over a month. great work.

I've been thinking of patching the memory straps of my HD7950 cards. They both have Hynix VRAM so they should be suitable for this hack. Is it enough for me to follow the steps on this page: ?
http://www.overclock.net/t/1554360/tahiti-memory-timings-patch-for-hynix-vram

Basically: download the BIOS file, open it in VBE7 and save it & use the patch tool to implement the BIOS file?

Here's a pretty complete guide on mining Zcash Headless on Ubuntu 16.04 using AMD R9 boards. They are kind of power hungry, so I would recommend something like the AMD RX480. Claymore's linux miner is definitely the way to go right now.

https://blockoperations.com/build-6-gpu-zcash-headless-mining-rig-ubuntu-16-04-using-claymore/

A great guide. Wish I had the money to build and use a rig like that (perhaps with other GPU's)...
Electricity is expensive in Belgium though...

Can I add these to my config file or does this need to be done every time I boot?

GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

These can be added to the config file. Put "setx" in front of every line and you are good to go.

To start.bat file - correction Wink
yeah indeed, was a bit too hasty here.

7990

270
270x
280 - 195
280x - 235
290  - 290
290x - 320
370

guys which pool u r using, cause dwarf is giving too low earnings from last 3 days

have been on suprnova.cc for 10 weeks now. very good earnings. switched from flypool and nanopool, since it seemed they were stealing shares.

Same here. Moved to suprnova from 3 different pools. Only here is more true to calculation.

just switch to dwarf now. 7 hours without a block is time for it to catch up.

Been on dwarfpool for a few days. Earnings were indeed low due to lack of shares. Same with Nanopool. I will give suprnova.cc a try tonight.

Flypool work very well with zcash, payout are rather high Smiley

Flypool does work well indeed. It's always been stable and a good lot of shares. Never had problems with it but it's not the first time I've read they are stealing shares. I will compare to suprnova and draw my conclusions.

Can anyone explain me what "Compute units" are? They seem to be different on my 2 cards? I believe it depends on the GPU manufacturer?

v9.3:

- improved stability and compatibility with various drivers.
- slightly improved mining speed for some cards (1-2%). About 340H/s on stock 390X.
- fixed issue in Linux version with GPU SEGFAULT and high CPU load.
- added support for round robin DNS.
- some bug fixes and minor improvements.

First results indicate a very small improvement of a few more hashes on both gpu's. Each around 203h/s. Slightly overclocked.
Can someone post current hashrate of HD7950 in Linux with version 9.3?

I'm curious about something here. I've been mining on flypool and I saw this: (there is a bar missing between 4 and 6 AM)
http://imgur.com/a/PRvPx
There was mining activity between 4 and 6 AM. why does it not show the amount of valid and invalid shares?

Is there something wrong on my end, or is it a bug at flypool?
this kidos

Keep your comment to yourself if you can't say anything that makes sence...Got nothing else better to do, kiddo?

But what's not understandable, you just do not pay extra, if you mined on other pools must beat note that it is common practice.... The percentage is somewhere more, somewhere less, flipped back, this topic is as old as the world

These 2 sentences would make more sense if you just encrypted them and post them (without the decryption key)
Or to rephrase...there is no translator that can turn this post into English...

GTCG: It's not your end and its not a bug. It just means that during 5 AM no blocks were found in that pool
There are better pools than flypool though....

Thank you for a comprehensive comment. Will switch over to dwarfpool and see what it gives.
I think Zoryk is on funny stuff Smiley

Z-cash: what's a proper way to backup your wallet?
by
GTCG
on 27/12/2016, 20:26:13 UTC
Hi everyone,

I'm a bit confused of how to backup my Z-cash wallet. I've done the following so far, but I am unsure if this is enough:

- Generated a T and Z-address on the Z-cash network
- Wrote down both these addresses, together with their respective private keys
- made a backup of my zcash.conf file, which contains my login and password to connect to the Zcash-network

If my system would crash I would reinstall everything, import both T and Z addresses together with the private keys and reinstall the zcash.conf file.

What I'm wondering about:

- There is also a file called "wallet.dat" on my system. Do I need this file as well? Or is it actually the only file I need to backup my wallet? I have seen you can import this file as well with zcash-cli...
- What about the username and password in the zcash.conf file? Do I need to use the exact same username and password if my system crashes and I have to restart from scratch? What exact purpose do the username and password have?

I had a setback installing Ubuntu in dual boot with Windows. Ended up with a crashed system last night due to some unexpected trouble so I went back to windows and will give it another attempt later on...

Anyway, does anyone know what the performance is of a HD7950 with Claymore with Ubuntu?

7950 working in 88 sol/s with driver 15.12 Sad with 16.9.2 work fine.

That's it? Doing 220 on it

I get 200 on the 7950. You seem to do a bit better I see.. Are you overclocking it? What drivers are you using?

I have no improvement with Claymore 9.2
Both HD7950 cards are running at around 200H/s.

Another news: due to a lot of requests I got, finally I reconsidered my plans about Linux version, I will release it in a couple of days.

This is great news. I installed a dualboot system so I could use your version to mine Zcash. I've had trouble with other miners. If you do this, back to Linux it is for me!
