Re: Powering my 20 port hub---need advise knowlege

I'd recommend always checking the output voltage of the ports themselves to be sure that you're not going to fry the ASICs when you plug them in.

To do so, find any cheap USB charging cable (can find microUSB or 30 pin iDevice chargers for under $1 on ebay) and cut it open to expose 4 wires (not sure if 30 pin would have 30 wires... seems unlikely, but I haven't cut those open) and then connect the red and black to your DMM for checking the voltage.

It should read 5V, or anywhere from like 4.8V to 5.1V (those seem to be safe ranges, from where things will work and not fry).

For my USB stick rigs, I used 10 port strips like http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-High-Speed-10-Port-USB-EPYP-2-Hub-Multi-Outlet-Power-Strip-Type-/141200097037

For PSUs, I used 5V 5A on each hub. The cheap one I got from China got hot, yet still supplied power to my hubs reliably for a few months (haven't had it die yet). My preference is Amperor 5V 5A, since they are decently cool to the touch when mining.

If you want to use your current PSU, I'd recommend checking out what the ports are outputting. If it's not 5V... you might have dead miners  Sad

I'd just like to say that my BOXER61 (Acer eMachines mobo) required this on the x1 slot.

If you want to get paid in bitcoin, it might take me a day or two to mine depending on how much you want (I've got a few ASICs which can mine a decent amount a day).
I wouldn't mind paying for USPS priority shipping to Minnesota.

[WTB] Icarus FPGA

Hi,
I'm wanting to buy an Icarus FPGA which is capable of mining litecoins.
I don't have many bitcoins, but I've got PayPal. I could also host it to mine for a difficulty window to pay for it, if you want.

So is anyone willing to part with their beloved Icarus?  Wink

Blades aren't worth $500 anymore... Even on eBay they're considerably less now.
I'd buy some at $200 if you'd accept PayPal.

P2pool now available if you mine at port 9555. Only a 0.5% fee on P2Pool

Switched to PPS due to demand. Existing miners had been paid for their time (even though we didn't get a block yet), so if you mine, you will be paid.

Those who find blocks will still get bonuses, but not as much as it was last time (only 10 coin bonus).

First block bonus: 1000 DOGE if you solve it, 1 DOGE if you've submitted over 1000 shares during the round!

Pool address: http://doge.litemoons.com

New pool, but that will hopefully help prevent against 51% attacks from pools growing too big.

Also, if you're on the east coast, this should provide great speeds as it's hosted in North Carolina.

Bonus if you find a block: You get an additional 100 Doge sent to your address linked to your account.

Let's make some money together!  Smiley

Update: Now PPS

If it is gone forever...
Congratulations, you have just made Bitcoins more rare.
So they should then be worth more.

Nice!

Just one question... How did you get the liquidcoin blocks?

I have had issues with the client being stuck at like 1,000 blocks or so and not moving.

Well I registered, but can't find how to build a shipyard.

Depending on which game, you should just click on Buildings (on the left side), then you get a level 2 Robot Factory. Then you should be able to build a shipyard.

All of this propaganda that is dished out only proves that there are many who fear the eminent dominance that $MC will have. Anyone that has all of their trust in BTC has every right to be worried. (Remember, don't get left behind Wink

Makes me wonder when Bitcoin will get a thin client and when/if there will be smaller blocks.

I honestly think Bitcoin is starting to view MicroCash as a threat.

But who will be accepted by big stores first?

Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched!
by
GTRsdk
on 01/05/2012, 21:20:56 UTC
Yes, there is to early adopters, and that is block reward halving much quicker.

Broseph, try to stay relevant. Block speed has nothing to do with block reward, and litecoin is designed to halve the reward at the same ~4yr pace as bitcoin.

Litecoin's reward halves at 200k blocks.

edit: Okay, maybe if Cosbycoin's confirmed it that isn't true.  I had thought coblee didn't change it, but I must be mistaken.

If you take a look at main.cpp in the litecoin source, it shows (and hides) answers.

That was before the reaper LTC GPU miner was released and the LTC rate dropped to nil...

I don't think the GPU miner had much of an effect (to be honest).

It isn't nearly as optimized as the bitcoin ones.
