Also based on the previous post it would seem this was indeed an inside job...

Mullick and the LK7 dev were set up as the scapegoats earlier this year. Both are likely alts of Paul Vernon and/or BitJohn and/or one of their inhouse devs.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=99433

All things seem to point to Bitjohn as the lucky7 dev - aka JLong187.  He is from the UK and I'm working on tracking him down.

So it looks to me like the community knew the source code was bad LONG before Cryptsy allegedly had their coins "Stolen"  To me this plainly states that Vern and Cryptsy are liable for their HUGE NEGLIGENCE.  The code was bad - it had a virus. Cryptsy didn't verify the source and just uploaded it to their site.  WTF?Huh  Did they not stop to read this thread?Huh?  Nice job Vern.

So we have installed a bunch of S7's on our network along with our existing SP35's.  Every time we power on the S7 racks our whole network goes to shit....We have >150 SP35's and just installed >200 S7's.  They are all static IP's on our 10.x.x.x VLAN. We've got layer 3 switches, and Pfsense router that can handle over 8 million simultaneous connections..... I don't understand what the ants could be doing to cause such havoc... Any thoughts would be appreciated.  Day 3 of no sleep trying to figure this out....

One other thing - has anyone else seen a large variance in the hashrate from hardware side to pool side?  We don't even have them all running yet and we see about 30% difference in the hash rate.

We're all entitled to our own opinion, and clearly you don't like BTCS, spondoolies, or.... well anyone and that's ok.   You do whatever it is that you do.... I'll stay long on BTCS and see who comes out better over the next 12 months.  :-)

Frightening really, I know of individuals digging into their own pockets to the tune of 100,000 USD to 200,000 USD to buy equipment for themselves in the early days. Here to be struggling to raise a meager 750,000 USD through some Micky Mouse OTC company is shocking. Could of easily tapped +/- 7 x long standing customers for a bail out and kept their points. Does not bode well for the future.

There are so many conditions on BTCS' "investment" that I can't make head nor tail of it, pages of terms in the additional documents. There aren't any additional details on the Spondoolies part of it but there may be additional conditions. Also Spondoolies will be getting an additional ~$300k in sales from BTCS on top of the direct investment.

You know what I find most interesting here....  BTCS is a publicly traded company, and is subjected to all the rules and regulations of the SEC, IRS, and FINCEN.  They have to publicly disclose every single thing they do.  They have done this and been in compliance for years now.  Unless you are a thousand dollar an hour SEC lawyer you won't be able to understand all of the filings. They're not for you to understand.  They are for their own compliance with the SEC.  They are doing things the right way.  Albeit slowly, but correctly.  They get called "Mickey Mouse" (Which I think is laughable) when they have their company listed on the OTC, (which is where most start ups begin) they've successfully raised almost 10 million over two years, merged with a larger hardware company, have a solid multi year business plan, a huge mining facility, and are virtually debt free.  Yet and still so many of you guys knock them for this or that... They are a BUSINESS.  That means like everyone else here they want to turn a profit.  They're following their business plan and based on their publication will uplist to the NASDAQ this year, and release the SP50 after they fill their own data center.  Their loyalty is to their investors and stock holders.  Why would anyone of you think that they should be loyal to someone who is a miner or someone who is "in the BTC community" instead of a stockholder or investor?  Come on guys.  If you want to make some money on this deal - I know we all do - Invest in their stock.  They are the only publicly traded company in this space, and furthermore, imho they are one of the few who we can bank on doing what they say they are going to do.  We may not like their decisions and we may not agree with them all, but you can bet they will follow through.

Ok this is pretty cool.  I'm mining at Aika pool and I started off with my laptop running an Nvidia 525M I'm seeing a hashrate between 550,000 - 991618 khash, but it's not showing up pool side.  It's not even showing that the worker is online....  I rented a rig from MRR just to check it out and that rig shows up fine with the same settings.... Advice?  Thanks.

Does anyone have a good recommendation on what version of mining software to use for X11 GPU mining?  I can't seem to find a good stable one.  I tried CCminer, and several versions of it, ending with 1.7 which ran on my nvidia cards, but gave me an error.  Something like result does not validate on cpu.  Thanks guys.

As long as you go into it with the understanding that you are not going to make back whatever you spent on the device - not placing any value on any "fun" or learning you would derive from the purchase - go hog wild !

I don't know where you get the statement that you won't make anything back....IF mining were not profitable NO ONE would do it.  Now granted you shouldn't go into it if you pay crazy rates for power, but if your power rate is reasonable then you most certainly can make money mining.  Accounting for the diff going up at $25k per unit the SP50 would pay for itself it in less than 9 months.  Everything after that is profit.  Even if the diff shot WAY WAY up so what. Instead of taking 9 months to ROI it takes 12 months. The point is, as with any investment, you have to be patient.

On the semi side, it's not that hard nowadays to step down to 20 or even 16 nm. The fab capacity and technical expertise is there, readily available.

16 nm readily available.....

"The fact that the 16nm production process is not yet widely available and ready for mass production would however mean that the first ASIC chips made using it may be pricier, at least until the yield of good chips is high enough. The development of very complex chips with thousands of cores is another thing that will require a serious financial support"

from crypto mining blog....

Seriously - 16nm desgin, fab, and implementation would be DRAMATICALLY more expensive and require a tremendous lead time.  Obviously Spon has done some amazing things with their current die size, and I can't wait to see these things in real life running.  I think it was a savvy business move, and a technical feat to do what they've done.  Hats off to them, their engineers, and their business leadership.  This is why they are the industry leader.

I could run 2 of these in my garage at home, and would if I had the opportunity to buy them. Hopefully that will happen in the future.

Congrats, Spondoolies!!

You have an insane garage sir!!!

at 16750 Watts or 16.75kW based on 220V (Standard US 220V service)  that means you have more than 150 amps available.  This compare to most homes that only have 200 amp service for their whole home. :-)
Also that would mean 80 amp breakers for each circuit.... or I guess you could do 6 15 amp 220 V circuit per machines...  That will be one HOT garage!!!!

On the plus side.... Your garage will be heated all winter.  :-)
