GTX 1080 Test on Decred with ccminer-rel1.7.5-blake2s-x64 on Windows 10 ( 2700 mh/s )

.

Hmmm... so it's not just my 980TI that freezes for nearly 30 seconds when the difficulty is changed by the stratum on Suprnova when doing Decred (at 14:09:45).

Any active pools besides exapool?  p2pool seems to be down for the last few days.  Miningpoolhub has been offline for a couple months and who knows how long since Suprnova was up Sad

Report your hashrates. I have only tested it on the gtx960M (768 cuda cores)

980 TI -i 31 1641mhz I'm getting about 3285 which is +42ish vs Mod#7. -i 31.9 bumps it to 3292.   edit: these are numbers reported by the miner.

Further testing....
980TI
Yiimp reports roughly the same hash rate (must run at least diff 2 which causes reported hash rate to vary depending on luck solving the job).
Suprnova poolside (diff 1) reports a MAX of around 2.65GH with an avg of roughly 2.45 at -i 31 (and I did let it run for over an hour and kept an eye on it the entire time) using Mod9 whereas Mod7 poolside shows 2.7-3.5 averaging around 3.1 (data taken today and from DAYS of monitoring).  Mod9 -i 31.9 was averaging about 2.3GH (see offtopic discussion at bottom of post for more info).

750TI
-i 24.5 1339mhz (primary display) Mod7 614MH, Mod9 620     (Mod7 -i 24.2 reports about 602 with MUCH less screen lag)
I am getting better poolside reports with Mod9 580-720 vs 470-630 Mod7.  I am also significantly more likely to solve a job with Mod9.  This is just an eyeball estimate but solve rate seems to have gone from 60-75% to around 85% on my 750TI.  It is uncommon on Mod9 to have a string of 3 or more jobs fail to find a solution whereas Mod7 often had runs of 5-7+.  The 980 TI also reports a higher solve rate on Mod9 but it's not as profound.

Conclusion:
On my equipment, Mod9 appears to be a gain on compute 5.0 but something is broken on 5.2 cards, the poolside hash as reported on Suprnova is significantly lower.
Also, the --show-diff flag is broken in Mod9.  It always shows (diff 0.000) for every solution.  This flag was also broken in the 1.5% miner fee version from a few days ago.

Offtopic:  For the 980TI I actually get better throughput using -i 31 than -i 31.9 (as reported poolside).  The typical job time is about .8 seconds vs 1.1-1.2 for the higher intensity.  These numbers I can see when I have a run of jobs for which it did not find a solution (don't use -q).  I am a bit more likely to find a solution meeting the difficulty requirement of the job at the higher intensity but the slower processing time lowers throughput.  This made me scratch my head more than a little bit...why the higher solve rate at the higher intensity?  But I've watched the numbers stream past for hours.  Tried -i 31.5 and it yields same results as 31.9 for throughput.

Is it possible to solo mine?  I've updated to the latest wallet and tried 4-5 different versions of ccminer (NVidia cards) and all I get are "JPSON call falled, unable to get work".

So I tried the 1.5% fee miner posted a couple pages back.  On my 980TI (using exact same config), it was about 1.2% faster than SP mod #7.

What really shocked me was seeing the stratum difficulty actually change while mining on Suprnova.  It started at 1, then went to 2, then 4 then 8.  When it switched from "fee mining" to my personal mining the stratum difficulty reset to 1 but then never increased.  I've tried creating new miners and I can't get the difficulty to go above 1.  Whether I mine with the 980 at 3.2GH or pair with a 750TI for a total close to 3.9GH the difficulty never changes.  Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix my stuck stratum difficulty?

Is there a particular reason Decred is tanking? I assume someone else has a better private kernel out there, it's no longer on par with Ethereum. Maybe even perhaps 40%~ better then SPs release. Could also be getting raped by FPGAs already.

if you look close they are following the same cycle of pump and dump, between 0.004 and 0.006, i would buy massively at 0.004, it will probably return once again at 0.006, but don't forget that pos miners are dumping for free

The bots on Bittrex are working HARD to push the price down.

sp - in ccminer have a problem with neoscrypt solo mining. Can u fix this ? (i tested all your version and tpruvots version)

I haven't been able to solo mine with an SP build since build 69.  I was solo mining a quark coin.  You can download it at https://github.com/sp-hash/ccminer/releases .  I'm sure this version is missing lots of speed enhancements and might not even support the coin you are trying to mine, but, it was the last I could solo mine against the wallet.  The release notes for build 70 mention a fix for solo mining a neoscrypt coin.  I'd start there and proceed to newer releases.

I can teach you why the kernal is displaying low numbers for low difficulty shares. (and for single cards with a low hashrate)

Take a look at at
https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer/blob/windows/Algo256/decred.cu

and line 259

      if (h[7] == 0 && cuda_swab32(h[6]) <= highTarget) {

We don't care about the 4 first bytes of the hash and assume they are 0. This is to spead up the search.

Here is a found decred block:(hash)

0000000000000d1ec551b6e0b734dbfa31e95059aa84e50f7db2ab244499c87c

0000000 000000d1ec551b6e0b734dbfa31e95059aa84e50f7db2ab244499c87c

but when a pool asks for  a low difficulty share
f.eks find a number that is less than this:
00000ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff ffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
We are not submitting the shares that have anything else than 00 in the low byte of the first 32 bits. (why should we when we know that the solution doesn't give a block)

If I mod the kernal to search the top 32bits only (h[7]) <= Target the mining software will work exellent at low difficulty, but not so good on higher diff.. We are searching for blocks with 14 leading zero's So I believe the current kernal is good, and the pools are fucked..

Why should we when we know it doesn't give a block? BECAUSE POOLS WORK THAT WAY, DUDE. Not submitting those is literally burning cash. The problem isn't the pools, it's you.

This would explain why I often have 3-8 consecutive submits without a Yes!  I found no solutions that met this preset minimum, it wasn't that I didn't do the work.  (single 750TI setup, for now)

Decred #4 received.  750 TI at 1368 core went from 528 on tpruvot 1.7.4 to 625 on sp miner

Well done.  Will probably drop the intensity back just a tad to improve responsiveness when I'm using the pc.
GarlukKY  is your 750ti stable at 1368 core clock?  I find all mine stabilize at 1345.

On Decred I've been running it for 2 weeks at 1329, stable as a rock.  A few hours ago I tweaked it up to 1368 (+180) and its been solid.  On Quark it would crash the driver and usually recover every 24-36 hours at the lower OC Sad

I'll reply back if I have any issues at this OC.  I decided to try to push it a little more in response to what fenomenhaa said in post #10485.

On 11/25 I moved 30,034 MUE from miningpoolhub to Bittrex.  I checked today and it still hasn't arrived so I went to check the block explorer.  The "official" explorer is offline so I checked the one at cryptoid and it looks like there has been a huge fork.  Miningpoolhub appears to be almost exactly 400 blocks behind.

Hi guys need help how can automaticly ccminer restart if the miner stops is there a program or a comand to control that?

Thx in advance

The easiest (and dirtiest) way is to have your miner batch file run in a loop:
:start
ccminer.exe ...
goto start

and have another batch loop running which restarts ccminer periodically:
:start
timeout -t 1800
taskkill -t -f /im ccminer.exe
goto start

That will restart ccminer every 1800 seconds (30 minutes).

That's beautiful... If only a program like MultiMiner was compatible with CCminer... Last I checked it was because CCminer doesn't have a API so other programs can't hook into it.

Wouldn't the first batchfile continually start up lots of instances of ccminer as there isn't a timer and it's a loop? Does it check to see if one instance is running?

This is what I use:

set app=ccminer.exe
set algo=quark
set address=stratum+tcp://xxxx:port#
set user1=xxx.x1    (your username and workername for the pool)
set user2=xxx.x2
set password=x     (your worker password)
:start
  start "gpu0" /min %app% -a %algo% -s 1 -d 0 -i 19 -R 3 -o %address% -u %user1% -p %password%
  start "gpu1" /min %app% -a %algo% -s 1 -d 1 -i 19 -R 3 -o %address% -u %user2% -p %password%
  timeout 600 /nobreak
  taskkill /im %app% /f
goto start

It will autokill and restart every 10 minutes.  Very handy for those pools that have a vardiff that doesn't play nice.

sp  could you please put the http protocol back in the source code. I can't wallet mine. And djm lyra2v2 is the same. thx

I didn't remove it, not sure why it isn't working..

He's probably talking about wallet mining with GBT - coins are moving to newer BTC codebases, which have getwork removed.
This works with release43  but not with release 62 for wallet mining.

ccminer.exe -a quark  -q -o http://localhost:port           < computer  1
ccminer.exe -a quark  -q  -o http://192.168.0.102:port  <  computer 2   Both on the same hub.

Somewhere after release43 it stopped working. Maybe around release50.

Build 54 is the last sp_ build that will solo mine against your wallet.  I have not tried B63, but I'm assuming it will also fail.  I have tried every build from 54 to 62.
My solo test shows it still works in r56 but fails in r57
ccminer.exe -a neoscrypt --no-gbt --no-longpoll -o 127.0.0.1:3333 -u phoenixcoinpc -p x -d 0 -i 10 -l T16x2
I tested r54,r55,r56 & r57. never downloaded r58

Maybe I should say I've not been able to solo mine on Quark algo since b54.  I just tried b56, it just sits there doing nothing.... just like in your screenshot.  B57 does not generate an error message for me, but it also just sits there doing nothing.

First off, thanks to the coders for all their hard work.  It is very appreciated.

Since Build 54, I have been unable to solo mine quark on my 750 TI.  The recent builds all work just fine with pools, but 54 was the last that will connect to my wallet and actually mine.  Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen.
