There are many traders investing in altcoins. Most of them got their millions in trading altcoins so I don't see any problem in buying altcoins and holding them for a long time. You can make millions in Bitcoin but it doesn't mean that altcoins cannot do the same.
i believe alt coins is the way to go
I added my investments to ETH and Waves. Both altcoin, in my opinion, have the same advantages as the market for tokens. And so far these two altcoins have been supporting me to get a big profit from the spike a few months ago.

Right now, is a very good time to buy altcoins. Market is recovering and the thing is, small market cap coins recover faster. I, at the moment, prefer to buy altcoins within the market cap range 50M USD - 150M USD.

Yea I'm buying some altcoins and will save them for long term investment mainly in ethereum. I also have got some coins which may go over a dollar per token shortly but currently the value of those tokens are low so I bought some coins too. Etherum and maybe bitcoin cash would be good to invest in.

alt is the way to go
It is nice to see continuous recovery the past several weeks. Within the past 4.5 months, my portfolio dove down losing more than 75% its value from ATH to the low around April 4. Since then, it went up and doubled...and while it is still less than 50% my ATH, it is an encouraging sight.
Hope this trend continues. BTW, I am aware things will continue to oscillate (up and down) but as along as the general trend is upwards it is good.

Yes that's the power of BTC, everything will follow btc. So, if btc up then they will all going up. I think it will be more increased when btc hit $15,000 we will all become rich because of what we hold. Just hold and stay we will in the moon again .Hope this trend continues. BTW, I am aware things will continue to oscillate (up and down) but as along as the general trend is upwards it is good.
