PPLNS= you have to mine for a day or so before you see proper payout. You get paid after you stop mining as well.

I've finally bit the bullet and switched over from solo mining (litecoin)

I set my CGminer to p2pool.org:9327 along with the address in my litecoin client as my username.

Should I have also downloaded the p2pool program?

Anyway, does this all look normal? Been running for about 4 hours. Nothing showing in my wallet yet.

HW errors make all that work meaningless. MEANINGLESS.

People who complained about not being able to buy cheap coins earlier will not buy cheap coins now because there are risks involved Sad

HIS will take a month with 3 weeks if it sitting in the RMA warehouse if the card dies under warranty.
XFX has a faster RMA turnaround but not great.

Do go voltage unlocked and consider the warranty..  If the card dies, the warranty is what will matter.
Google bitcoin mining comparison and read the wiki.  If it is a fast BTC card its usually a fast altcoin card but you need to search 1st.

Get riser cables.. Cards too close to one another can cook each other to death
You can figure it out from there if you can figure out how to build a rig you should be good.

Is gpu the only thing that matters? Because I'm pretty sure my dad can get as many free junk old computers from his workplace as he wants.

Yeah and all those old junkers will have multiple PCIe slots and decent power supplies..  DOUBT IT!

How can you do anything with that?  Any prediction you are going to make 20 mins from now when MtGox catches up is asinine.
* ErebusBat wishes we had a decent exchange with stop loss / take profit orders.

I have the answer. Get out of BTC you don't have the balls for it.

Heat sink not sitting well on GPU or fans not moving or clogged.
my bet is heatsink/GPU contact sucks

I had a XFX HD6870 that was an RMA replacement would heat up until PC crashed around 104c.
Removed heatsink, cleaned, applied some new thermal compound.  zero issues now. 77C under full load in a 75F room

Order placed on 2012-11-04 02:08:41
Order # 12315
Selling price: 65 BTC

BFL has stated that this unit should ship within 2-4 weeks.  I will send it via USPS Express Shipping if in the USA or USPS Priority International if outside of the USA.  The cost includes shipping.  They stated that this should give anyone at least a two month lead on orders placed with them today.

E-mail is best.

Thanks!

I wonder how long the board redesign and remanufacture is going to take after figuring out they need more chips per to meet hashrate guarantees.
If I were them, then from the viewpoint of ("need to meet a hash rate target by any means available") I would choose to ship extra single-chip boards. Re-designing is a burdensome process with no guarantee of timely success.
Unfortunately, that's not the product people purchased and as such they should be then offered a refund instead.
They can get a refund ... they can just ask for it.

A friend of mine spent 2800 BTC on BFL orders. Something tells me they're not going to give him a refund.

yeah sure they wont.. yeah sure...

Bah, just hold your coins until you have millions of dollars worth in FIAT.. Cash out and don't pay a dime.
Leave as fast as fast can be for a nice tax haven country on a private plane with a few suitcases of whatever currency you fancy....
