I don't see any option to change the deposit address, which is needed to make sure the new owner can log on and I can't.
Why does that matter? The account is view-only unless you have the private key for the payout address.
Yes, it finally dawned on me. Thanks for the help.

yes but he can log in again and change it again...
How?

=squeak=

edit: to change withdrawal address, you have to sign something using your address (as I understand the procedure). once the withdrawal address is changed to whoever the account is being sold to, then changes made to the account from that point, can only be done by signing with the new address.

You understand correctly. Utilizing message signing with btc addresses basically eliminates the repossession of an account. I say basically, because there are always holes in systems, if not in the software, then in the person.
I appreciate that you react to my post, but it isn't getting any more clear for me. I will explain again what I want to do and what is unclear to me:
An account consists of:
- Deposit address --> to log in to the account on Pyramining.com
- Payout address --> to which the rewards are paid
Now I sell my account to another person. To do this, both addresses need to be changed, as I see it:
- Deposit address --> A deposit addres he only knows (so he can log on and I cannot anymore)
- Payout address --> His payout address (so he gets payments)

Now in my account details, I only see an option to
1. Change the payout address (by signing a message)
2. Sell the account to Pyramining (by signing a message)

I don't see any option to change the deposit address, which is needed to make sure the new owner can log on and I can't.

I'm probably missing something obvious. I'm not an expert, which is one of the reasons I want to get out. It would be great if someone could explain it and help me to transfer the account to another person.

Edit: I think I figured it out.
To change payout address, I sign message with old payout address. Then only the owner of the new payout address can change it by signing, so I can't do that anymore. Being able to log on doesn't make any difference.
That's how it is?

Current situation:
Log in: deposit address
Payout: payout address

So after changing the payout address, the new log in address is the new payout address instead of the deposit address it was before that?

New situation:
Log in: new payout address
Payout: new payout address

That is how I understand your comment, but I haven't heard this before and it isn't mentioned anywhere as far as I've seen.

I'm selling my account to a 3rd party. Do I still need to contact pyramining to change the deposit address to transfer the account?

I looked through the thread history and found a comment in which pyramining said he would look into implementing this, but I can't see it has been.

Its right there inside your account info. I have used it several times and it works like a charm.
That is a tool for selling it to Pyramining right? And a tool for changing the payout address only? As I said I want to sell to a 3rd party and for that I want to change the deposit address aswell, because that is the means to log on.
Or am I blind that I don't see it?

This is just so sad, I invested 10+ btc may 2012, and what I get is 400ish satoshi a day... You should show a little more respect for your early customers.
You have to figure out a better plan then the current one.. :/ or give me a better deal to sell back my account..

I agree so much, I invested 13 BTC in ASIC when it still had to be deployed. When ASIC was deployed, old deposits benefited from ASIC as well. ASIC didn't last long and now with the new infrastructure the 1st generation ASIC deposits are left behind. I feel like I'm in a gap between early adaptors and the new deposits and that I am least likely to see my bitcoins ever again.

So I`m guessing pyramining is most likely dead.
Or he somewhere on Hawaii.  Roll Eyes
He responded in this topic on the 17th of february, that is recent. It happens often that he isn't around here for a month.

Read pyramining's last posts. He mentioned that he will soon implement a system for changing the addresses by signing a message so accounts could be traded.
Also, Pyraming has changed payout addresses manually in the past, so it is possible. But an automatic system would be awesome Smiley
He has indeed confirmed this.

Consider this:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=430079.0

Its risky but as I want my coins and because of the risk I'm selling for quite some less then the remaining payout.

Its a bit more than risky - current break-even point is over 500 weeks. No wonder you are selling for "quite some less" Wink
The risk is if he is able to deploy next gen hardware soon and keep up with the curve in the future  Wink

Its 113 pages long. Can you provide a summary? Smiley
Well, if you filter for posts from Pyramining you get an idea.

Then that would just be view from site owner - not exactly impartial ....
There is no other information, and you wanted to know what Pyramining is doing, so that is your source.

New hardware? Well great, if it appears. Problem is, everyone else is actually bringing new hardware online every day.

New ASIC hardware is added when people invest consantly. I'm talking about next generation hardware that is about to come online.
Sure it's a gamble, it was for me when I invested at the end of 2012.

Look at increased network hashrate in last few days. NexGen is happening .........
True, but there is still the possibility of getting a bit ahead of the curve.

How do you do that? Build your own ASIC device? Smiley
That is kind of what Pyramining is doing.

Is it really? I just read the home page and the FAQ page and it seems much more interested in talking about sponsors, affiliates, referrals than any ASIC devices.

The 2nd entry in the FAQ is:

------------------
What does the pyramining logo represent?
The logo represents a monument to The God of the Blocks, who (trough worshipment) provides us better luck while we are mining for Bitcoins. :-)
-------------------

Honestly, who give a toss?

This is pretty clearly a failing pyramid scheme. Its not people building their own ASIC devices, sorry.
Read this topic about his progress.
