Re: Signs of an irresponsible gambling parents.
by

How do we expect people don't judge quickly if the parents were involved children in gambling? It is totally the wrong way that people gambler with children. If they want to try luck in gambling center, please let the children to stay at home!

We would have then stories 2 years old kids alone at home for hours, while the father goes gambling. I would disagree with out, but add that each situation require individual approach. Imo its safer to take a child with, than leave it at home, no matter where you need to go. You can explain your child about gambling, if his interest to it appears after watching you gamble. But you can not help or safe your child if he is at home, but you are away.
in my opinion it is best to just get someone to take care of your child if you are leaving

usually right there should be two parents so at least there is always one that is left behind with the kids when one is away doing work or doing something to entertain themselves to gamble and if both parents need to do something get a trusted family member or a nanny to watch over the kids
They just need to grow up face reality that they aren't kids anymore, they need to be responsible for their family.
They need to prioritize their family over gambling, instead of wasting their money in gambling why not spend it on more important things, save and open a small business instead of relying on luck.

Re: ⚡Satoshi Strike - An online tank battle game where you can earn sats ⚡

Hi all Smiley

This is my first post on this forum. I hope I chose the right category for this. If not, apologies and happy to move the post wherever it belongs.

I have been diving into bitcoin lightning development lately and created a browser game where you battle with tanks against other players.
You pay a small fee to enter and can win part of a larger pot if you win. It's pretty self-explanatory (WASD to move, mouse click to shoot) and also quite addictive  Cheesy

To play you just need a bitcoin lightning wallet (that ideally supports LNURL withdraw). Also, the game is currently only optimized and really playable on desktop and there is no mobile version yet.

Happy to hear what you think!

PS: I can't seem to find how to add a screenshot here, plz help
I like the idea, using retro game to gamble with other players.
I tried it on my mobile phone played with training bot, got destroyed easily might be hard to play on phone but I enjoyed it.

Re: Should you follow instinct?

I usually play crash games so I only trust my instinct on when to place bets and when to cash out.
There are times that I am grateful that I follow my instinct to cash out early cause it bust at the exact time that I cash out, there are also times that I regret it cause I feel like I would win so I get greedy and go all in with a good multiplier set up.

I've seen how gambling affects a grown ups productivity and concentration in their work place so imagine how much much more it would do to those students.
Any addiction could cause a distraction to students it isn't just gambling, they need to learn what to prioritize and focus on what they really need to do.

Re: I’m rich… because gambling is my entertainment.
by
GideonGono
on 02/06/2025, 16:37:26 UTC
They say gambling is just entertainment, and honestly, we can’t deny it, when you think about it, we’re literally paying to be entertained. And the stats don’t lie: most gamblers end up losing in the end.

So if gambling is an expensive form of fun, that must make us rich people, right?
‘Cause like they say, when you gamble, you’re just throwing money away. And fellas, that’s what rich folks do, they throw money around like it’s nothing.  Cool

So I'm proud to say, I’m living the rich life, one bet at a time...
Well, I think it is a positive way to say that we lose at gambling, and it is true that most of us are paying just to do it, so might as well be proud that there are times in our life that we live as a rich person (LOL).

Re: Will you place a bet on a humanoid robot boxing match?

This would be interesting, but I still wouldn't bet on it right now, maybe if this would be something that would be recognized and be normalizes in the future then I would consider betting in it.
For me it isn't just a robot boxing match, it is also the skills of those who controls them and the creativity to those who manufactured the robots.

I used to do this before, however this would only help me to stay out of gambling for awhile, make me regret not stopping, and cashing out.
I don't see any reason why I need to continue on doing it so I stop keeping records of my wins and losses.

Re: Pizza day

Today is Pizza Day, and BTC made a new ATH. I wonder how he would be feeling right now for giving out 10,000 BTC for just two Pizzas. LOL, I wouldn't be able to leave with myself if I were the one, and to my greatest surprise, he says he doesn't regret it.

How would you feel if you were the one who gave out 10,000 BTC for 2 boxes of pizza?
He used it as a currency to pay for what he wants at that time like most of us did in the early stage of Bitcoin.
No one knows that the price of Bitcoin would rise this much, he didn't regret it cause he moved on from it.
I also think that most of those who are active in crypto at that time has already sold their coins when the price increase. drastically from the previous years.

Re: Will buying Bitcoin be a dream one day?
by
GideonGono
on 22/05/2025, 12:44:33 UTC
But why? You can always purchased a small fraction of Bitcoin on exchange even if the price go skyrocket on exponential level. Small fraction of Bitcoin is still a Bitcoin. We don’t need to hold 1BTC to invest on Bitcoin because even small fraction can be worth a lot in the future.

I recovered my old Bitcoin wallet with 0.001BTC few months ago while I considered this amount as dust Bitcoin way back 5 years ago.

Now it’s worth 103$ which is already huge amount for me.
Exactly, we could always buy small portion or Sats if we can't afford a whole Bitcoin.
This is what I always tell those who are close to me and says that Bitcoin price is too much they couldn't afford it, there is no need to buy a whole Bitcoin, only invest what we could afford we could always buy a small portion of the coin.

Re: Can Bitcoin help a poor country or nation
by
GideonGono
on 21/05/2025, 12:42:38 UTC
We need to know that crypto doesn't perform any magic. If the country is poor, the government should help its citizens  upgrade to a certain level where they can help themselves.

If you live in a poor country, how can you afford to buy crypto to help someone? Crypto isn't always the answer to everything. For some, spending a little on cheap coins might pay off, and they might have a big success story, but that’s not always the case.

Crypto doesn't end poverty, in fact, it can make you poorer if you don't know what you're doing.  if you have the right knowledge and resources, it can help you make a lot of money.

I agree with this, it is an investment and not all investment or investor would succeed in it.
They need to understand or know that there is a possibility to lose some money when investing, don't be blinded by what they see or heard on social media, not all of those successful stories about crypto are as easy as it seems, there are so many things to consider.

Re: Will you retire after $BTC reaches this amount?
by
GideonGono
on 20/05/2025, 16:36:35 UTC
This question is for those people holding $BTC and other huge crypto assets. if $BTC later reaches $1 million, will you retire from your work or still continue to work?
Asking this question because of what i saw in a friend portfolio and he claimed if it later reaches certain amount he will finally retire.
It would depend on the situation, if I hold a certain amount that could support me for the rest of my life and my current work at that time is affecting my health then I would definitely retire and enjoy my life, but if I am enjoying working then I would rather continue to work than to be bored at home.

If you have been in crypto for a long time you would probably get used to it by now.
Bitcoin haters or trolls would always be there when the price drops down, they would always make some noise or have something to say, but when the price rise up they would just stay low and be quiet.

Re: What are some of the dumbest arguments made against Bitcoin?
by
GideonGono
on 16/05/2025, 12:47:06 UTC
Bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme, investment scam, and only used for illegal purposes only.
Back then it is what most people think about Bitcoin specially those who doesn't really know anything about cryptocurrency, most of the time the negative comments comes from those who doesn't really know a thing about it.

I wouldn't feel guilty about it, just look at it as working as a middleman your friend's friend wanted to bet and you just help him.
The extra amount that from it would be your fee since he already set the amount that he wanted.

Re: Who exactly is a “HODLER” ?
by
GideonGono
on 14/05/2025, 16:44:06 UTC
Who exactly should be referred to as a HODLER?

As we already know, hodlers are people who hodl bitcoin for long periods of time; they are determined not to sell for the long term irrespective of the price change.

Now here comes my question: If those who buy and hodl their coins on a noncustodial wallet where they have full control over the coin are referred to as hodlers, are those who also hodl under a custodial service where they don’t have full control of the coins also regarded as hodlers?

If you leave your coins on a custodial exchange, the exchange is the one holding your coins and not you. What's available in your balance is what they can manually input. Since you don't have full control of the coin, you shouldn't be considered a hodler.

Not your keys, not your coins (and not being a HODLer)
Your keys, your coins (and you are HODLer)
You already answered the question in the first sentence when you define the word hodlers.
It didn't say what wallet needs to be used to be considered as a Hodler or where they need to hold their coin.
Hodlers are those people who bought and hold their coin for a long period of time.
Now if those who owns Bitcoin for a long period of time and had it sitting in trading sites and didn't sell it aren't consider as HODLers then what should we call them?

I really hope that this one is different from the previous cycles, and we could experience a stable and healthier growth.
If the market continues to move this way, we might actually be able to see a new ATH soon.
