Safe to run BitcoinCore 0.11.0?
by
GigaWave
on 12/11/2018, 15:50:31 UTC
In a bind and would like to run 0.11 temporarily. reason being the need to use WinXp. Could run up to 0.13(being EOL for xp support), if it makes a difference, seen notes claiming reports of crashing though for 0.12X+

Would like to make some transactions, and intended to use 'prune' mode.

Thank you!

Replying to first person in line and will work my way down.

Everyone, Please use the shipping info included in my post. The prices will be almost identical if I pulled them up. I have to refrain from giving out quotes as everyone asks, then I do the work and I never hear from them again. Huge waste of time. I'm not trying to mark up shipping prices, I will only ask the real cost.

Thank you for the interest everyone!

S1's are under clocked to ~100GH for power efficiency.
Have a total of 8 would like to sell in pairs(so 4 pairs) as shown in the picture, 835W PSU and power leads included.
Either escrow or local purchase. Located in Tampa, FL. Will ship, buyer pays shipping.

UPDATE BELOW PICS

If you would like shipping quotes please include detailed info in your PM/post.

Asking $30 for each pair.
S1 pair:

Total of 4, asking $130 each
Dragon 1TH:

Detail of S1's:(Just compiled these #'s, only about half of S1's are underclocked)
180gh  350mhz
150gh  250mhz   680W (single psu for both miners)

130gh  250mhz
130gh  250mhz   305W(single psu for both miners)

180gh  350mhz   375W(single psu for each miner)
180gh  350mhz   375W
190gh  375mhz   400W
130gh  250mhz   150W
190gh  375mhz   400W

73gh    275mhz
130gh  250mhz   245W This last pair, one blade(of two per unit) blew capacitor right after I got it from bitmain, some what common, supposedly if you desolder the cap, you can run without it as its not required I believe.(search forum for more info) Other half works fine.

As I said above I do have the server power supplies setups identical to the picture. I didn't test all these like that as many where not setup and I didnt want to screw and unscrew 12 screws for each miner so I just used one psu with pcie connectors to do the single psu test.

Dragon T1 details:
All consume 1000 Watts, and hash 1000GH/1TH
One of the dragons is using two PSU(as seen in the pic above, one atx internal and one server psu external).
And one has a flaky psu, It kinda works when if feels like it. Biggest thing is once it gets going if it shuts down, it can take many hours before it will power up again. Honestly I would just consider it dead and say that one needs a new 1000 watt psu. The other two work well.

Anyone tried them before: http://www.michigan-colocation.com/index.php/server-colocation/bitcoin-miner-hosting

Do i have to ship a PSU to them? They are quite cheap tbh and save me VAT.
They are actually quite expensive.

I would recommend centerus hosting, carlos will help you with your PSU needs.

I think he charges ~75$/kW/m, so around 30$/S3/m.

Operator is flyonwall (sales at centerus.com or call me at +1-425-738-0222)

See that website, it even specifically mentions S3s.

Anyone using Centerus care to chime in?

Well, as I start this reply it's 1:23pm.

I just OC'd all four of my S3's to 237.5, I have a dentist appointment at three. So after I hit the post button. I'm gonna do a single refresh on all four to see web stats. After that I'll let everything be til probably around 4pm when I get back. If everything looks good, I'll leave them all on 237.5 for 24hrs.

If after that, everything still looks good. Then about this time tomorrow or so I will take the proverbial plunge and try 250 on one of them for 24hrs. If that holds good, then I'll set the second at 250 and let run 24hrs, so on and so forth til I t all four on 250 if I'm lucky.

Between 237.5 & 250, is there any other freqs, I think I saw someone say 240 or something a few pages back.
Ok, so back from the dentist, checked on the four S3's and no x's but I did however notice something weird and maybe it will wind up between now and tomorrow. Anyway, below are as of this post... Elapsed Time, Gh/s(5s) & Gh/s(avg) as well as the HW & the Diff a & r figures.

My curiosity is in tthe avg speed of miners 1 & 3 while 2 & 4 look good. Haven't done the HW% math, maybe someone could for me ? lol.

Oh ya, all four are OC'd to 237.5

Miner 1
Time: 2h 23m 11s
5s: 451.62
Av.: 445.94
HW: 269
Diff A: 867,072
Diff R: 2,560

Miner 2
Time: 3h 6m 23s
5s: 471.79
Av.: 474.91
HW: 927
Diff A: 1,222,656
Diff R: 4,096

Miner 3
Time: 2h 56m 37s
5s: 468.71
Avg.: 458.37
HW: 86
Diff A: 1,109,504
Diff R: 1,536

Miner 4
Time: 3h 6m 6s
5s: 501.62
Avg.: 475.88
HW: 54
Diff A: 1,244,160
Diff R: 1,536

About this time tomorrow I'll use actual pics when it will be ~24hrs that they will all have been up on 237.5.

Power consumption?

Just my two cents. Running these things on 240V power and in a cool environment are crucial to running stable(read, 'working').

Re: How many S3 on 240v 30amp circuit?
by
GigaWave

13.  You should only use 80% of a circuits capacity. Keep in mind it's unlikely you will stay at 240V exactly, As you increase the load, the voltage will likely drop. You could easily end up at 230v very quickly.

Note: Use this information at your own risk.

Please work on you sentence structure. It's very difficult to understand what you are saying.

Back OT, I wonder what the efficiency is of these things. Must be pretty bad considering the price.  Would make for nice backup PSU's though.

I'm on the creditors list and have not heard anything. How long ago did you guys receive mail from the court?

I got a letter about 10 days ago.

After receiving this letter, is any action required?

I feel a fail-safe coming on.....or DDoS.

..stats hash rate going rouge.

...NVM...seems it a miner that went rouge...how nice.

... feel my spell-checker going rouge ... or possibly chartreuse ...

Heehee.

Rouge:
1 :  any of various cosmetics for coloring the cheeks or lips red 2 :  a red powder consisting essentially of ferric oxide used in polishing glass, metal, or gems and as a pigment

String me up and hang me, I typed 'ug' instead of 'gu'.

Funny thing is, it could still applicable.

"Rouge is the French word for "red" and may refer to: Contents. 1 Compounds (often red in color)"

..that's actually what I was going for. Wink   ...god this forum software needs to be updated....aren't I dreaming....BOT!  Acronym that should be used a lot more on this forum too..wow are we not winner's here or what!  That's enough for now.

I've been mining with Eligius for a long time, but have spent the last 24 hours with "this user's payout in our next block."  Over and over again, it does not happen.  Given that there is no pool fee, I am not in any way complaining, but I'm confused - one or two times, sure, but over and over again?  Stats link: http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1FrAmpQVXzCiNiNdZ1E1deFZQgnZuYZqzA

We've had some pretty bad luck over the past day. Bad luck = less likely to get paid when estimated.

It seems I received a partial payment of my total due balance. Didn't lose the unpaid portion, it stayed in the total due.  Never noticed this before...anyone?
Stats link?

PM'ed you.

I would guess it's because your paout priority made it so you were the last one the mined block, and the full payout didn't fit in that block, so it payed what it could. But what was left unpaid was under your payment treshold, so you were no longer in the payout queue.

This sounds plausible. I don't fully grasp programmatically how the payouts work though.

I'm not to worried about it, just wanted to make sure it was not a bug as I have never noticed it happen before.

Per. above, I do want to point out, I was over 3 times higher than my threshold.

Any info on getting this thing connected?

I mean, shouldn't I have to put some sort of password into it, to access my wifi? I do have an antenna, and the miner will be across the house, so wouldn't it have to log into the wifi?

I just can't wrap my head around how to access the ant's control panel/interface...

Look in user 'dogie' signature a few post up and start reading.  This has been covered countless times.

Any luck with Bitmain helping you?  I had one explode, looks like wpgdeez'z below. Except it was the cap under the 12V+ header.(One farthest left in the below picture)  Funny thing to is, it was the same side of the miner. IE, the side opposite the control board.

Still haven't found the cap cover. Sure did give off a nice spray of sparks.

Heres what you don't want your cap to look like ...

They gave me an RMA number for their account with UPS and UPS didn't know what I was talking about. I haven't bothered fixing it, maybe i'll get someone to solder on a new cap and see if it will hash again. Not sure what caused the CAP to pop, I would think some other underlying issue.

Yeah, I would like to know more about them. As in exactly what they are doing.

In my case I had a power outage and the PSU did not come back on. Unplugged and replugged the mains power about 3-4 times within about 15 seconds trying to get it to power back up. On the final try the cap popped. I removed power from the one blade and everything powered up fine.  Still no idea what the issue was.
