Any concern about screengrab malware on Android?

Is there any concern about viewing a seed phrase via electrum or another mobile wallet on an android device? Is there any malware out there that could be monitoring one's screen?

Since Coinbase is no longer available to Canadians starting August 1, I'm looking for alternatives.

I couldn't find any recent feedback on Quadriga - anyone use them?

Re: Question about seed phrases

Another question, I've always assumed with the seed phrase I'm able to recover all of my account information.  As in if my phone is lost or destroyed I can use the seed phrase to restore my HD account and all the private keys associated with it.  Just want to confirm that this is the case and that I don't need to backup my private keys separately?

Question about seed phrases

I'm a very novice bitcoin user, so apologies for the stupid question.

I have a few wallets on my phone, each of which provided a backup seed phrase.  Two questions:

1) If my phone were to explode and I needed to restore my wallet, do I need to use the same wallet?  Or can a seed phrase I got from mycelium be used in electrum if I wanted?

2) Is there no risk of people just randomly entering 12 word seed phrases in the hopes or recovering an active wallet with funds in it?

Thanks!

There's a pool or 2 that use child-pays-for-parent. Try sending the output of the tx to another address with a high fee - enough to cover the size of the original tx + itself.

I tried doing this but my wallet only lets me set "high priority" and I only sent a relatively small amount of the received amount (but more than what was originally in the wallet, so part of the output that I received).  Unfortunately that didn't work.

Then I sent some of the unconfirmed received amount to a wallet where I can choose any amount for the fee....then I sent a transaction with $10 in fees from that other wallet.  Still nothing.

I received a payment of roughly 5500 bytes but the sender only used a fee of 5 sat/byte so it has been sitting unconfirmed for almost 3 days. Is there a way to pay someone to seek out this tx and include it in a block?
You may be able to simply cancel it and resend it.
Bitcoin core includes a command "abandontransaction", but I've never used it and don't know the requirements.

Unfortunately I am the receiver not sender

It is possible to talk to a pool operator.. I think Kano has done this in the past. You'd think there would be a "bribe a pool" service by now. I think there is an actual wallet with a feature to add a fee to be collected if a targeted TX is included.

Post in Kano's tread, maybe. If not hopefully someone can link you the guide.

Great thanks, I've posted in that thread

Hello. Sorry if a bit off topic but I'm hoping someone can help.

I received a payment through bitcoin over three days ago which is still unconfirmed. The sender only used a fee of 5 sat /byte (tx is roughly 5500 bytes) so obviously that's the problem.

Is there a way for me to provide a payment on the side to someone to locate this tx and include it in a block they mine? I'd be happy to to send .05 btc just to finally get it confirmed.
