it's profitable, buy btc on LakeBTC, sell BTC on Bitstamp, deposit and withdrawal with Ripple

The arb is like a faucet, but the risk is greater, you will loss once the price balance.

Re: Random thoughts on flash crashes

The list can go on and on, including Morgan Stanley in 2004, Lehman Brothers in 2001. The question is, why flash crashes happen and how to avoid them?

This stuff seems interesting to me but I lack background, background that is not so easy to find.  Do you have good links for more basic questions: "What precisely is a flash crash?", "Why are they considered bad?", "Are they actually bad?".
The US government seems to believe that 'flash crashes' are 'bad' as after the dow dropped ~1,000 points in only a few minutes the SEC instituted new trading rules that were designed to prevent future flash crashes.

I am not entirely sure why many people consider them to be bad, as I would argue that they are simply the market allowing to "discover" the price of a security on it's own
Market pricing is illusory

Whether Marx or Adam Smith, the market needs to be forced managed by government in the back

Re: Why There Should Be A Bitcoin Central Bank

If Coinbase (already holding peoples coins) is one of the reasons because people like other people to hold their money, then why do you think we need another bank?
you mean coinbase is a bitcoinbank?
Although coinbase is not a bank, but it already has a savings function of banks. So many Bitcoin exchanges are too.

Dear Users,

On Oct 26, Sunday, there's a data error on our ticker API where the USD bid price was unreasonably high. Our production support team conducted a thorough investigation of the trades, cache, and account activities during that period, and found it was caused by a very rare caching problem. Some stale incorrect data was stuck in the cache for the ticker API and was not cleaned up in time.

Note that the actual orderbook and trades were NOT affected. All the trades during that period were normal. There was NO flash crash. Even if somebody attempted an attack during that period, no harm could have been done to the market.

That being said, we take this incident very seriously and patched our system to stop this rare problem from happening again. We are dedicated to creating a fair and secure marketplace for all bitcoin participants, and we are constantly improving our system, technology, and processes to safeguard your assets and personal information. We apologize for any inconvenience this incurred.

Thank you for choosing LakeBTC.com!

find best bitcoin exchange in this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=695082.0

if you like the lower fee, Lakebtc' and Bitfinex' taker fee both are 0.2%, Bitfinex's maker fee as low as 0.02%, even Lakebtc's maker fee as low as 0, just like any CNY trading.

Why you love China exchanges?

They are a chinese exchange.

Yeah, I believe their major staff are chinese, but perhaps Lakebtc is owned by an American or a citizen in European

Quote
LakeBTC is currently owned by Lake Investments Limited (BVI), with Shanghai Trading IT, Inc. providing technical and customer support.

Both Bitfinex' and ANX' companies are in Hong Kong, but their owners should not be in Hong Kong, just like Mark Karpeles is not a Japanese

Compared to Slovenia, these areas are much safer.

Thanks for your attention. Rest assured, LakeBTC has a comprehensive set of risk management and internal control measures to safeguard users' fund and personal information.
How can I know what‘s your internal controls? blab

Compared Laketrader, I think darkpool is not a meaningful feature for most users,
who would trading exceed BTC50 in one order everytime?

Anyone use LakeBTC? How long does it take to verify accounts?
by
Gine.Unnta
on 01/09/2014, 03:46:03 UTC
I had submitted documents in 24th August, that was my second attempt.

After last submission rejected, I talked to one of their staff on facebook, he told me that I have to submit the proof of residency for verification, include electricity, gas, cable, phone bill or bank statement from within the last 3 months.

OK, I did it.

Now over a week, no any actions occurred, is it a scam?

edit: approved.
