Not the first time....what a crap coin, lazy dev team, such a bad code, those flaws are unaceptable.
Verge dying in 3,2,1...
doubt it will die.
Vergetards are so set in their cult like ways that they are willing to take any attacks on their precious little scam coin.
The attacker(s) knows this and is utilizing this to his/her/their/its advantage.
If you have a community who is willing to let itself get fraped over and over again and give you millions of USD worth of crypto to dump on their fucking
heads, well, you'd be a fool not to take advantage of such vergetards.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The verge community is strange indeed. To post on their subreddit you'll need unfair amounts of karma.
Posts that legitimately challenge technical aspects of Verge are often taken down without reason.
For the moment, it seems unclear the future regulations in the US. Maybe this is useful for you to read the 2018 US Joint economy report, here: https://www.congress.gov/115/crpt/hrpt596/CRPT-115hrpt596.pdf The chapter 9 is fully dedicated to the crypto world and the wills or regulations.
Thanks, very interesting to read. Although it tends to support "Bitcoin isn't real money" overall.

Regulations for a payment gateway

I'm looking into developing a multicoin payment gateway like coinpayments or bitpro.cc
It will be based in the US. Do I need to to check regulations or is paying taxes enough?

Who cares? He created one of the best payment systems. If he/she wants to remain anonymous let him/her.
Nah, just kidding, I'm Satoshi Nakamoto

Sad to see how such a great service can fall so hard and fast
I wonder that the project will constantly improve its technology to compete with new projects in this field so that users after 5 years of free use will continue to trust and use at low cost? This is a powerful community engagement strategy!
They could probably abandon the outdated hardware and move to some other country where there's free electricity too and extend the time
Well, they might do. But, how if they abandon the project after a 1 year running a project like this? The legends still remains the same.
I have a hard time understanding the concept of free electricity. Where can you get electricity for free? Isn't it at least low cost?
Maybe they are using something free with a fair use policy. Anyway, every free service has a limit, a limit which you will quickly reach when mining coins.

Awesome, paid a 179 dollar BCC invoice and it only cost me 9 cents in fees!
Any plans to add classic ether?

If you're only interested in transaction speed and fees there are plenty of viable alternatives to both Waves and Bitocin, for example Litecoin or Nano
Used changelly a few times now and although it works their Captcha system is really horrible. I've been clicking on street signs and store fronts for five minutes now! I hope they remove this because now I'm going back to shapeshift which doesn't bother me with this nonsense

An easy solution is to download "Ethereum" and create a new wallet.
Ummm, No... Ethereum is a completly different CryptoCurrency... It is NOT related to BTC at all!
I think you meant to say... download "Electrum" and create a new wallet. For the record, Electrum is available here: https://electrum.org/#download
Ahh lol thanks, too little sleep when I posted this

An easy solution is to download "Ethereum" and create a new wallet. It creates a "seed" which are just some random words in a specific order. You need to remember (for example store in a password manager) this seed but never share it with anyone. Now transfer the Bitcoin funds to this new wallet. The backup is the "seed". As long as you have that you can access the coins from any computer at any time.
Like RGBKey says it's hard to comprehend this at first. Think of it like your coins are stored in the cloud. Everyone who has your exact seed words can access them. It's secure because guessing the seed is basically impossible.

Looks like an Android wallet name. If you have access to a Unix machine check the filetype like this to get a clue: "file bitcoin-wallet-backup-2015-03-08"
Oh and don't send this file to anyone to avoid losing your coins!

Ethereum has been a solid coin for the past few months.
I also used plenty of Bitcoin Cash in the recent weeks and it's working rather well, overcoming some problems of regular Bitcoin. Although I can't assess if it has any long term future.

Even if you don't believe altcoins have a future, many people have become rich trading in altcoins.
depends on the use you make and how to store them. I recommend you to create a wallet-qt, I think it's the safest one. keeping them parked in the various exchanges is always a risk due to the increasing number of hacker attacks. Always enable the 2fa factor for protection and many wallets are very secured in a way that it has own authentications.
True, the wallet is probably what matters most to users. The protocol itself is safe as well, no fake coins have been generated so far.

Guess it will hit almost 6K soon before dropping to somewhere around 4K.
And I remember a few weeks back people complained when the price dropped to 3K because they bought at 4K

Remember when people complained about price drops? Well if you bought at 4200$ you're having a nice raise
