Re: Is MtGox hijacking money from SEPA transfers?

Hello,

I'm new in this forum, but not new @MtGox.

In the past I have done several SEPA transfers - with  similiar amounts of money.
And - yeah Mt. Gox - it worked well. I received the money at the MtGox account within 3 to 4 days.

But now it takes more than double the time.

https://support.mtgox.com/home (June 21, 2011)
"We have been receiving reports of severely delayed withdraws to countries in the SEPA region. It appears that the volumes of transactions being handled by our bank in France is exceeding our daily limit, which seems to be holding things up. We are working to get these limits raised both for our daily/weekly/monthly volumes. We apologize for any delays in processing."

That does look like amateurs!

I getting pissed off!

Is there any other "european citizen" waiting for a EURO bank transfer executed at the time of the crash?

Re: HOWTO: create a 100% secure wallet

Hello,

using two wallets is really a great thing for security, ... but:

** Poll: Who is really doing so? **

Be honest. How many of us really use two wallets?
One for daily buying and selling. One for saving.

2% - 5% of the people in the forum? Maximum.

What did I get it wrong about wallet encryption?
by

on 27/06/2011, 09:57:49 UTC

I can encrypt my wallet file to protect it against theft.

But in order to perform a bitcoin transaction or to check one - or generally to work with the bitcoin client -
I have to unencrypt the wallet file. Right?

So where is the protection. A virus only has to wait some hours.
Or even better: My bitcoin client is always on.

Ok, I can split up the wallet.
One big wallet for saving and one smaller wallet (10 BTC?) for buying and selling things.

But again. At some time I have to put my big wallet online. A virus only has to wait.

What did I get wrong about your security concepts?

Hello MagicalTux,

thanks for the quick response.

I did write to info@mtgox.com:

"Our help desk is experiencing unusually high traffic currently. We regret to inform you that you will experience some delays (currently 48-72 hrs) in us getting back to you."

I have to wait TWO or THREE days!
In order to get a feedback.

Why do you not just release the money from your (french) bank account into MtGox for verified accounts?

How do you add (or withdraw) funds ?
by

Hi,

three questions to different geolocations:

1. Question to euopean people:
How do you add funds to MtGox and Tradehill?

SEPA transfer (Euro Bank Transfer) and cash look like the only reasonable methods.

Dwolla is not possible: "Dwolla Corp ... provides accounts only to those who bank in the United States."

International wire transfer (USD), via the SWIFT network: fees are quite high and I have no clue how long it takes. Heard of 3 weeks.

Australian AUD deposit (AU) - only for "Down under"

2. Question to people from Asia:
How do you add funds into Tradehill and MtGox?

3. Question (@ US guys):
Do you hold money or funds at Dwolla or Liberty Reserve? Or at MtGox?

Is MtGox hijacking money from SEPA transfers?

Hello,

I have transfered some hundreds EUROs to MtGox via SEPA transfer at the day of the crash.

It still is not in my account although MtGox has resumed trading.

At the moment I have no access to that money:
I can neither buy bitcoins nor can I withdraw it to my bank account.

Is MtGox hijacking my money?
What about SEPA transfers of other (european) people made shortly before the crash?
@People outside europe: Do your Dwolla funds arrive at MtGox?
