Re: what do you guys use bitcoin for?
by

Are you guys currently using bitcoin to make payments or making purchases with bitcoin? maybe for invest only? I'm just wondering if bitcoin  will recover from that tesla did.
I use my Bitcoin as an investment I would avoid using it as long as I have cash.
I also think that Bitcoin would soon recover after this and it is normal for Bitcoin to drop down at some point.

For me everything has been changed because of how fast things are on the internet,
People became greedier, lazier , and of course smarter I think we have been overwhelmed by how easy things has been because of the technology and it is the result of it all.

Re: What make people panic sell?
by

on 13/05/2021, 16:13:40 UTC
We saw the past from $10 to 60k is going up and up. So it sure it will reach $500k next destination.
But why the hell people panic sell now after it reach this high amount?
Do people really still think it goes to 0?

There soulnd't be any sale presure given the history that we see Bitcoin only going up in value
We sell it to take our profit, We all have our own reason why we sell and of course you also do.
We couldn't just hold it and just watch it grow when we are starving or we need some cash to spend,
Sometimes we sell what we can even if we don't really want to do it in order to survive.

Re: Is someone worried about the recent decline of BTC?
by

on 12/05/2021, 18:14:35 UTC
No need to be worried about it if you are a long term investor or holder.
You would get used to it and would just ignore it because you believe that it would recover and even go higher in the future.
The only one who would be worried about it are the newbies and short term investors.

The only problem we have right now to use our BTC as payment for everything is the seller or merchants,
There are only few that accepts it and we are lucky if there are some near us.

I wonder what genre of movie it would be to make it interesting for non crypto people too.
If it would be a docummentary movie then I think it would have to be educational so the newbies would also learn from it that up till now we still haven't found the real creator.

They depend on the people who would give out some help but because of the pandemic everyone is also having a hard time.
So thumbs up for you and all the people who are doing the same thing helping others.

Re: If bitcoin price had not crashed in 2018
by
Gotumoot

The Bitcoin boom that took place in 2017 which lasted to early 2018, if it Market has not crashed then, indeed  Bitcoin would have made lots of young millionaires than what we have today.

The beneficiaries of this current boom are mostly the rich!

Am using myself and that of my friends as a case of study.
In year 2015 we were schooling then, and there was no money for us to invest, we wanted to invest in bitcoin for future purpose, we saw the potentials of bitcoin and what it outcome will be in years to come, I remembered selling my TV and some other household items, and my friend also selling his musical instruments to invest in bitcoin. We were happy doing this because we believe in the future.

In 2017 during the first bullrun, we couldn't sell any of our assets because we were still schooling, the primary purpose of our investment was to have something to live on after our education, but fortunately the market crashed before we could graduate.

And after our graduation from school we couldn't help it, we needed to start a new life, hence selling our assets were the only option.

It hurts these days seeing the price of Bitcoin going higher and higher.....
Sometimes I just look out for what to put the blame on, If I should put it on the government, because if there was job available after our education we wouldn't have sold our assets, or if I should put the blame on heritage. of course if we had come from a wealthy background, we would have be rich and there won't have been any need for selling our assets, rather we would have bought more.

Something it looks frustrating, and I know am not the only one that has had this experience.

I will like appreciate if you can share your experience so far here with us.!
If the Bitcoin price had not crash in 2018 for sure the price would be way too high right now and there would be new wealthy people because of crypto.
Maybe even young people who have been around before it hits the ATH of 2017 and those who have been doing bounties before it become so polluted with scam projects.

Re: He said Bitcoin is a Scam: See What happened to Him
by
Gotumoot
on 14/01/2021, 15:19:14 UTC
Cryptocurrency industry is an industry like other industries that need caution from the players. It was yesterday, one of the members of a WhatsApp group i belong made series of comment, and in all his posts he said Bitcoin is a ponzi Schem, people doing btc are thieves.

Well, as a crypto expert (to an extent) i knew what has happened to him and i needed to educate him on what he should know about bitcon. I asked him what was his basis for this kind of derogatory comments, he said i should never mind, i later gathered that he gave his money to another person to invest in crypto and the person screwed him.

I tried to explain and educate him with the following;

1. How to invest in bitcoin.
2. the importance of trading or investing yourself.
3. why Holding and Timing are very important.
4. why it is scary to entrust your cash into someone.
5. Why knowledge is one of the most important tool you need in this industry.

He later admitted that he made a mistake.

If you were in my shoe, what would you've told a person that says bitcoin is a ponzi scheme created to scam people?

Most of the time I would just let them think what they want but sometimes I would also defend it.
It is just tiring to defend it to almost everyone who would tell you that it is a scam.
Back in 2018 when I lost most of my money due to investing in BTC peak price in 2017 I would always hear that it is a scam so I would just ignore them.

Well I was already planning to invest few days ago so I think it is now my chance to buy now.
I don't have plans on investing huge right now I don't want to risk everything that I have, I don't think that I could handle it if I loss because of my greed right now without any back up for it.

No one knows what would happen next so let's just enjoy it.
I didn't even believe nor think that it would get back at $19K last year because of the pandemic,
I was expecting it to slowly go down but it was the other way around.

After 3 years of waiting for new ATH we finally had it and it keeps on getting higher and higher since it broke $20K.
It is great to finally see it go this high after being low for the past 3 years.

Re: What's the point of so many cryptocurrencies?
by

on 07/01/2021, 07:14:20 UTC
Hi,
I was browsing about 50 pages here https://www.blockchain.com/prices?page=50 then I gave up and googled it...there are more than 2000 cryptocurrencies!
Why?
The fiat tends to reduce thanks to EUR, what's the purpose of so many cryptos?

thanks
Because Dev's wants to have their own crypto and be the best on their field.
Every crypto have their own function and purpose so every developers wants to create the best and overcome the one's that is already there.

Because in the past few weeks, the price situation has started to improve, so I prepared a good strategy so as not to make the wrong investment ..
I like having eth, how about you ,friends?

Feel free to give your opinion ...
ETH is the best for those who are also having trouble picking up alt-coins.
I know that you and I are not the only one who are having a hard time deciding what alt-coin to buy so we might as well stick to only the best alt-coin that we know.
We shouldn't jump into the alt-coins that are being hype and getting a lot of investor into FOMO state.

My thought we are in bull market just forget new experimental coin smashing up 50x -100x in dex and next week rekt , so old is gold avoid fomo buy old coin 👌👌
The project that gets FOMO could really get rekt in a short time but as an investor or trader would you let the opportunity to gain profit gets out of your hand?
Even if the risk is there people would ignore it to gain a huge profit as you said those could smash up 50-100x in Dex all they have to do is get out before they lose money.

Re: Should we all not have our own bitcoin?
by

Should we all not have our own coin?

@VitalikButerin has eth
@rogerkver has bch
@chaumdotcom has xx
@SatoshiLite has ltc
@adam3us has btc

and 8000 others have their own coin.

I think everyone in the world should make a coin with the same supply.  That would be more legit than working for another mans supply... Or have 1 coin we all earn at the same rate upon creation of supply.
Sure create more crypto for everyone but what's the purpose?
Does those who belong in 8000 more who owns their coin have a value?
What's the use of creating your own crypto or coin if it wouldn't have any value at all?
You could see that there are already tons of worthless crypto around so why would we create more just for our own?

Re: Bitcoin, Spouses and Divorce
by
Gotumoot
on 12/12/2020, 18:51:37 UTC
Hello Folks,

I was listening to a Bitcoin podcast the other day and the speaker mentioned that one person had written to him asking for advice - his wife had heard about Bitcoin in the mainstream media and the price rise and was pressuring him to cash it all out immediately or she would leave him.

I don't know how that particular fellow ended up but it got me thinking - for those of us with partners who are not into Bitcoin, have you ever had pressure put on you to sell it up and are they even aware of how much BTC you are actually holding?

There is a bigger picture here as well, with some people holding hundreds or thousands of BTC and the price continuing to go up - how might the court system view Bitcoin in the context of divorce and separation?

It certainly raises an interesting point.

Thoughts?
LOL What the hell if this happened to me I think it would be better off without her.
It is your investment it is for both of your future so why would she even pressure you and make the decision when she doesn't even understand it?
If you're in that kind of relationship it is better to leave seems like your partner isn't really supporting you to have a better future but instead just making it harder for you.
Chose someone that would support you and believe in you not someone who would just pressure you.

It is good for all of us that they are interested in it at such an early age.
They could be successful investor in the future and they could learn a lot from it .
To be honest I envy them there are so many young ones who are now early investor and earning their own money because of crypto,
But back in my days when I was at their age I didn't care much and just been playing some online games with my friends.
