Re: What host is recommended to use

Host Gator is good.

Liquid Web better, but they are more expensive and you can't put as many sites up unless you want to pay more. All in all, better service and sites loaded on it are actually faster.

You can watch it on Netflix

Re: What would you do if you can have all the bitcoins you want?
by

First thing would be to sell a bunch of them for fiat. Next would be to buy a car and maybe a nice watch.

I would then buy a house, retire, play video games, watch Netflix, read books.

I still like The Walking Dead despite what others say. I have been watching reruns and some of the older seasons still weren't so bad.

The webisodes are good too.

Leverage is really nice too. It is lighter hearted and a bit easier to watch and the things the characters do is really interesting. It's kinda like an M Night Shyamalan twist each time, lots of fun.

500GB and almost 400GB of it free.

I guess I don't really store a lot on it.

Re: How often do you check bitcoin price?
by

on 07/03/2015, 20:45:10 UTC
There hasn't been much action lately. It used to be 5 times a day or more, now not really.

I mainly check once a day mostly and then look at alt prices.

Seems there are few reliable exchanges now, which really sucks.

First, it was coinmarket.io, then it was mcx and vircurex and then mintpal and bter.
Mintpal was already problematic when they had their first couple million dollars lost. The second time everyone alreadyd had fair warning.

Water, just plain water.

I used to drink a lot of juices and pops, but had to cut back.

The pops were bad for my teeth and stomach. Juices were tasty, but had a lot of sugar.

I was also drinking lots of iced tea.

Have you looked into CoinKite?

I saw some vids awhile back and they seemed solid for retail and POS.

They have a card system which seems high quality and they are already established.

DRK would be good. I don't have any, but I may put some money in.

BTC is always the big kahuna. I would stay away from LTC.

I was looking at AeroME, they seem to be working on something for March.

I am hoping people won't reference tulips.

In the next few years, BTC could be sub 500.

I believe afterwards, it will start to rise and it will keep going.

More and more are adopting mobile payment systems and BTC could fall into this.

Probably just BTC and DRK. Keep in mind, I don't have any DRK, but I have been watching the price charts and it seems solid. Anything else is pretty risky, but if you can vet the developer and you find a good one early, you could put some money in and maybe make a good return.

Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin?

Mining is probably not a doable option with so many factors coming into play.

Maybe when BTC prices have risen then you bought your equipment, then prices dropped again. You would also need free space and free electricity, otherwise, it becomes really challenging.

You could get into alts, but they are really risky.

Re: [ANN] [AM] AeroME - Decentralized Marketplace Exchange

I am thinking this may be the next big one. Think about it, if it is, we are getting in at the bottom. It is a good place to be for any investor. The impact that the platform will have is exhilarating. The prices are therefore insanely cheap right now. I have been watching the charts and there are lots of people accumulating, or at least one whale accumulating. The price will shoot up most definitely upon the platform's release. I cannot wait until the platform launches. DRK hit almost 3,000,000 satoshis. There is no reason AERO ME will not reach or exceed 200,000 or even 300,000 satoshis.

There are a lot of crap coins out there that don't add any value, but they are worth a lot. Is there a chance that we will see 100,000 satoshis or 250,000 satoshis on this? That should be where this coin sits, at least in my opinion. XC was dying and a lot of people have given up hope. If this coin shoots to where it should be at 100,000 satoshis plus, it should bring more faith back into altcoins. Otherwise, it is just one pump and dump after another. Is this [Suspicious link removed]d? Will it reach 100,000 satoshis?

LOL, cold hard cash. That would be fantastic. However, it would probably work out better as an ice sculpture.

Re: Where is the value?
by
GreatWinter
on 12/01/2015, 18:32:55 UTC
What gives Bitcoin its value?

Supply and demand?

Surely, as more merchants accept Bitcoin, more bitcoin gets sold for $$ driving the price down. The lower the price, the more people will panic and sell their BTC or trade it for goods, thus reinforcing the cycle.

I am getting to the point now where I am so tempted to sell my own BTC. I don't normally waver on things like this, I believed Bitcoin had a bright future, but my belief is shaken now.

I can't see anything in the near future that will increase the demand side of the equation....

You may hear a lot that the value is in the blockchain. It is a new technology where there is information kept in a public blockchain. The reality of it is it forms a decentralized network forming a currency that can transfer value for goods and services and that one single Bitcoin alone can run an entire economy. There is a lot of value in that.

Bitcoin 2.0

What will be Bitcoin 2.0?

I remember reading awhile back that Bitcoin is considered the beta technology and that something will come out to replace it with all the bugs worked out. It will be considered "Bitcoin 2.0" Mark Cuban supposedly commented that he won't touch Bitcoin, but he will dump a lot of money into Bitcoin 2.0. Have you heard of Bitcoin 2.0 or have an inkling of what this might be?

Re: Who said the BTC price doesn't matter? BitPay announces layoffs
by

on 12/01/2015, 15:41:29 UTC
That is kinda sad really. I thought of BitPay as the next Google or the next Facebook. The layoffs could be a sign that they are no longer growing and that interest in BTC is starting to shrink. I certainly hope it doesn't turn into merely a fad. Who knows what the future will bring for BTC and maybe there will be a positive effect later on for BitPay.

That type of thinking is a bit on the extreme side, but you never know what will happen. The good thing is it is hard to track in a lot of ways. The safest is probably to use some anonymous solution so that it cannot be tracked or linked to an address.
