I found my Antminer S2 dead today. No leds, no power indications at all.
I replaced its power supply with a 1200W one, still nothing.
So i suppose its getting serious, could it be the blade board or the maybe the controller???

while its running, pull the board furthest from the psu (number 1)
it will continue to hash and you can work on that one blade and check the thermal paste, i can almost guarantee its been applied poorly.
if so, reapply and shove it back in (not necessary to power down though the inexperienced will disagree)
if its still freaking after you pamper it, get on to bitmain and send it back for a better blade (no need to send the heatsink)
check the S2 SOLD OUT thread for images of the thermal paste applied in house

After monitoring for few days i can safely report it was thermal paste issue.
When i removed the board's heatsink..almost 1/4 of the chips were not covered by paste at all..
I reapplied nicely and no downtime ever since, thanks edgar
Over the last month my S2 randomly stops hashing. After a single reboot everything is fine.
When i log in this is what i get:
Board temperatures are around 60℃ average and the "Stop running when temperature is over 80℃" option is disabled.
The room is not air-conditioned but this never stopped the S1's and S3's do their job.
Thoughts?

what is left from the lot is an unused antminer s1 and two bfl single 60 power supplies.. and it would be nice to avoid buying another psu..

Since the 393MHz appears to be the "sweet spot" for overclocking with an acceptable rate of HW errors can someome provide me the exact power consumption of it?

If You have no physical control over hardware, you have no real control over it. Linode with backdoor access, MtGox with audit login leak and so on. Learn to assemble server hardware and then put the server software on it.
