please add cryptohunter

Please specify good reason, tnx!
He is a senior member and acts as if he is the god of crypto, calls everybody hurting his ego noobs. Said all coin2 holders are noobs trying to talk up c2, and look at the ranking of c2 today. whines about new coins as scams if he cannot mine them on launch

If you can't mine a coin on launch then why wouldn't it be a scam coin?

Seems like a troll to me.

Either way I think you should probably back up the wallet.dat just for safety.

since i was ignored many pages ago.. guess what ?

PLEASE update the first post with the truth about whether Quark was premined or not !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i will keep harping.......... even if the dev did a vanishing act (and almost certainly changed names and made a new coin)

do you guys ever clue in when a dev never posts on a coin topic ever again and a new coin comes up ? get the hint ?
you have been pumped and dumped on and sitting their holding your bag trying to hype up your dead coin is a waste of time.. wake up guys come on

people out there started spreading rumors and lies that Quark was premined really REALLY badly and that the coin launch was sooooooo unfair.
and guess what ? the Doge tards you guys attract ate it up whole and never even doubted it.. they took it as fact. (and dumped QRK for Doge)
and what blows me away is the dev had to have seen this going down last few months and still to this day never even brought up the matter on page / comment 1

need services ? no you need to repair the massive severe damage Trolls did to your coin and start dealing with these lying brats.
kids treat this all like some high school game spreading lies on purpose to damage a competing coin etc
the solution to that is not adding some dumb ass useless service for a dead coin.

Hey coin dev.. wake wakey mofo ..where are you ? or should i say what name you using now ?

Imagine if Bitcointalk randomly decided to cross reference account logins and then posted it all publicly
can you guys honestly say it wouldn't matter ?
Why is it NONE of you out there care in the slightest who posted the coin ?

blah blah ..i waste more of my time, nothings going to change ..only solution is to walk away ..this entire scene is a lost cause and it's only gonna get worse and worse
until the cops, fbi authorities etc crack down.. and they will ..just wait & see

It was obviously not premined. There is no need to address and put any focus on something that isn't needed.
Quarkcoin First Block - 2013-07-21 and announced on 2013-07-21.

I have a couple of basic questions and would appreciate it if someone could address them.
1) The developers have repeatedly stated that they will "Walk Away" from the project once it is released. As Zerocoin is a protocol, probably with flaws needing to be fixed or tweaked, how will the future development and management of Zerocoin be safeguarded ?
2) Without a Blockchain, how will you be able to "prove a transaction" later on (if used to buy goods from an online store etc.) ?
Thanks
where did you read, that they "walk away" after release? they worked 1,5 years on that, would be a little bit strange if they would do this, its their baby.

That's what Satoshi Nakamoto did.

Or did he?

Very bad position for QRK at this voting

That site is extremely manipulated by bots and such. It's such a pointless site wouldn't bother with it.

Re: Quark Android Wallet Beta Testing (from HashEngineering) [w/ native hash!]
by

on 23/02/2014, 20:17:03 UTC
Last week (16FEB) I send 0.7 QRK to my Android Wallet.
When I look to the block explorer it indicates the following:

Send 999.9 QRK

When I click on the 999.9 QRK, it indicates that 0.7 QRK is send to my android wallet and 999.2 QRK to the following address: Qf5NfxzS4e7ymMMtw9BDNp85PUKro84yHX

That address is unknown for me.

According to the block explorer there is 999.2 QRK less in my wallet, than according to the paper wallet.
When I check the balance of Qf5NfxzS4e7ymMMtw9BDNp85PUKro84yHX this is 999.2 QRK.

What happened and can this be explained?

It sounds like you accidentally set up a transaction fee on your desktop wallet. It's also possible that you downloaded something and someone is trying to steal your Quarks.

quark is instamined not premined  and dogecoin is a clonecoin .

You can't really call it instamined. They just used a new economical model that help create stability in the coin. It is definitely an unique point of Quark.

Worldcoin doesn't have many orphan blocks for 30 secs yet.

but you are right, fast coin is riddled with orphans.

hmmmm. interesting, I post this, cause personally I think speed is crucial, and as such I decided to see what everyone thinks.

Speed is definitely important factor. Speed, security, and stability the three top thing should be considered in a coin. Network security is also important.

You should probably use coins that is actual on equal playing fields and have actual info displayed with source.

Anything after 30 second will cause too many orphan blocks.

I guess in crypto world there is no too big to fail company. Mtgox knows that when they let people withdraw btc.. they will be left with 0 BTC. And nobody will ever trust them again.

Most alt coins are affected by the down market of BTC because in order to buy altcoin, you need to go to dollar > BTC > altcoin.
Is there anyway for us to make USD > Quark?

All the places you can buy Quark.

VaultOfSatoshi.com - USD, CAD
CionMKT.com - USD
C-Cex.com - USD, BTC
LiteBit.eu - EUR
Cryptokopen.eu - EUR
Bittylicious.com - GBP
BTC38.com - CNY
Beedui.com - CNY
BTC-8.com - CNY
Lilion Transfer - USD,EUR,GBP,RUB,etc
Cryptsy.com - BTC, LTC Video1 Video2 Video3

Re: Quark Android Wallet Beta Testing (from HashEngineering) [w/ native hash!]

Actually, now I have 2 question/comments regarding the "request coins" function:
1) Is it possible to send the QR code with the request? I couldn't do it, but this would be nice to be able to scan an email request with the phone.
2) When I test the request coins function, the message adds a ? to the QRK address...also if I "include label" with the request, it looks like this:
amount=40&label+coinmama%20QRK...Its a bit hard to decipher.. also the request was for 40 QRK, not 20QRK

Right now, I don't believe it is possible to send an email with a QR code.  Instead it is sending the Quark URI.  An example is here:

quark:QLtLcRLMCshyFisUR2e3YSSqwbR4DjdT46?amount=40&label=Hash%20Engineering

This should be readable by a Quark Client and I just activated this feature in the Quark Wallet.  If one were to click on this as a link from a browser on the phone, it would activate the App.  Not sure about other apps understanding this URI as a link.

quark:QLtLcRLMCshyFisUR2e3YSSqwbR4DjdT46?amount=40&label=Hash%20Engineering <-- this is a link

In your example, the amount was 40, but your label was "coinmama QRK", which is translated as "coinmama%20QRK"  The %20 represents a space ' ' in a URI, which should not contain spaces.

Basically this request is not meant to be readable by people so much as usable by another Quark program that can read it and do something with it.

That's a pretty cool feature. Keep up the good work.

Re: If an altcoin were to overtake Bitcoin, which would it be?

Bitcoin depends on a small network of mining nodes who support their operations by generating a fixed profit of 3600 bitcoins per day.  The available daily operating budget to keep Bitcoin from freezing up is thus $3.6M or less (at $1K/BTC or under) to  generate the current 25 million GHash/s needed daily.  A representative miner “pickaxe” is a Butterfly Labs Monarch costing $2000 and using 350W of power to produce 600 GHash/sec. Thus the current Bitcoin mining network has sunk unit infrastructure costs of at least $83 million and (at $0.10/KwH) ongoing electricity costs of at least $35,000 per day.

Both costs are rising faster and faster. Exponential growth of Bitcoin’s hashrate (see blockchain.info/charts/hashrate) means mining rigs and energy use will skyrocket out of control, sooner rather than later.  Bitcoin, and clones like Doge, are thus by their very nature destined to fail.

NXT is the sustainable solution to this problem.  By using cooperative transparent forging, not competitive gigahash mining, NXT does not have an exponential forcing function at its core that drives its costs and energy consumption ever higher.  A NXT blockchain support network of 1000 Odroid U3 nodes has a one-time unit infrastructure cost of only $60 thousand and uses only $48 per day in electricity – forever.

You should look into Quark. What you describe is exactly what Quark tried to solve and is pretty successful so far in their economic model and still keep it decentralized.

Quark stability has been pretty incredible.
