Can I ask why you inserted a telegram bot and a miner into the program? Does it somehow contribute to the work of your program?

As for the Telegram bot, it's indeed included in the distribution, but it's an optional component. The user needs to install and run it themselves if they want to receive notifications in Telegram.

There's no miner in there, but a lot of cryptography is used—practically all communication between the core (which interacts with exchange servers) and the graphical client is encrypted using AES-256. Additionally, some exchanges require the use of RSA cryptography for signing all requests.

Why these three antivirus programs decided there was something suspicious—it's worth checking with them. We believe it's a false positive. The most paranoid antivirus programs (like Kaspersky/DrWeb) didn't find anything alarming in the binaries.

All binaries are signed with an EV certificate, which isn't easy to obtain. If this were an actual trojan or miner, the certificate would have been revoked long ago.

Board Pools (Altcoins)

When any p2pool node finds a block, everyone in the share chain gets paid. Once you find nodes (of your own, or a fee % of the shares your miners find) then you'll be in the share chain for while. You'll be paid on every block found by anyone on p2pool until your shares expire.

Thaks again for the details. The only one thing which is not clear for me step 7:

------
7- Make a one-time donation to all miners of P2Pool simultaneously (including yourself!);

Code:
bitcoind sendmany "" "$(wget -O- http://IP_P2POOL_SERVER:9332/patron_sendmany/5.0)"
------

My wget -O- http://IP_P2POOL_SERVER:9332/patron_sendmany/5.0 returned a lot of addresses with some amount which, theoreticaly, should be payed to those addresses. But my initial setup _has no_ funds.
If I`ll schedule cron to make periodical payments (when only my miners are connected to the node) then, after a while (when my miners mine sufficient amount of BTC) my node will send those sums to the foreign addresses?Huh Why?

Thank in advance and sorry, if my questions are a bit stupid - I just want to understand complete scheme Smiley

Pointed my miner (75Gh avg) to my pool. After a while graphs shows ~6.0 mBTC in the "Current payout to default address" section, but the pool balance still is zero. Is this a glitch or hidden/donated payouts?

Thanks in advance!

That amount is how much money for -fee is in the Payouts list, I think. Remember that -fee doesn't provide a steady commission on all node income, but it gives you that % of the pool shares randomly. So you'll see variance in the node income even if the miner shares are steady.

Aha, thanks for the explanation. But why the initial payout contained a lot of address? Just because those addresses are in the queue, which is shared between p2pool nodes? By the other words, it is possible that my address will be in this list for something other who decided to bring up the p2pool node?

Hi!

Followed instructions to setup p2pool on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS VM - started without any problems (to avoid bitcoind DB sync I just copied existing database from the other server). The only one thing which failed was one time donation - bitcoind complained about insufficient funds, because the
wget -O- http://SERVER_IP:9332/patron_sendmany/5.0

returned JSON with a lot of addresses and sums for them, but I have only one miner connected! Why so many addresses?

I verified payout address - it is ok:

cat ~/p2pool/data/bitcoin/cached_payout_address
14Y2AKxxNsKkTj4Y615qQfYXTxfiguDHbc

 bitcoind getaddressesbyaccount p2pool
[
    "14Y2AKxxNsKkTj4Y615qQfYXTxfiguDHbc"
]

 bitcoind getreceivedbyaddress 14Y2AKxxNsKkTj4Y615qQfYXTxfiguDHbc
0.00000000

Pointed my miner (75Gh avg) to my pool. After a while graphs shows ~6.0 mBTC in the "Current payout to default address" section, but the pool balance still is zero. Is this a glitch or hidden/donated payouts?

Thanks in advance!

Hey Guys.

There are a few peculiarities they we have been struggling to work out and troubleshoot. Most importantly, the miniplane code is not working yet.

But we still can use miniplane to distribute power via it?

Any problems, which can be solved by software patching are not problems at all Smiley

Cheers.

I have a couple of questions I haven't found any answers to.  I asked a couple times on the other forum, but never got a response.  Maybe I should have started a new thread to ask.

Do the eight chip Drillbit boards have any provisions for hardware and software temperature monitoring?  What are the safe  operating temp thermal specs on the boards?

On a side note...I am a Linux noob.  Could some one help me out by posting a quick guide on how to build the Drillbit modified cgminer source on a rpi with raspbian wheezy?  I've tried doing it the way I do with the main branch, but haven't had any luck getting it to work.

Thanks!

Chad

I`ll post detailed instructions, when I`ll get my boards. Moreover, if DB boards has some additional features available via cgminer information queries - I`ll write a custom munin monitoring plugin to draw nice graphs.

Hey Barntech,

As I see, 8-chip board contain PCI-e connector. Can I insert it into PCI-E slot on motherboard without side effects? Is it compatible by power lines with PCI-E?

Cheers.

As for me, I prefer to get tested boards, since it will be pain in the ass to send them back - at least it mean fight with custom`s officers (try to explain them what is this, he-he). So, it is ok for me to wait 1-2 days more and get tested boards rather to send at least one of it back.

Now with the proper fans installed:

Just some questions:

1) Why do you use other (separate) power supply for the USB-hub? Why you can not use the power from the main PS?

2) Can you tell how this aluminium profile is called? I want to try to find it locally (ordering over sea will make them made from silver Smiley )

Hey guys.

We have more delays. It breaks my heart to tell you this, and it just straight up breaks my heart that it's happening. Please know, I am just as excited about this project and eager to get these miners as you guys, and just as disappointed that they are not yet ready. The last weeks of delays have been absolutely killing me.
...

We ARE almost there guys, though i can imagine its feeling like an eternity right now. Trust me, it is for me too.

Barntech

Hey, Barntech, relax - you can not did a mistake, if you never tried to do something Smiley

I have friends in the company, who are doing R&D for TV hardware. Hardware production is the road with well-masked rakes on it. So, it is better to discover f*ckup before you shipped the boards, rather we discover it a month after we run them Smiley

So, I`ll definitely wait for shipping, no problems.

I assume barntechs inbox i full so I'll post my question here. Maybe someone will have an answer...
What is the difference in days between express and regular shipping? Trying to compute if it's worth it. Thanks.

According to Australia Post, Express is 2-4 days, regular is 5-7 days.

Is it possible to use UPS/DHL/FedEx ? Or it is better to discuss this privately?

Cheers,
Serj.

Hello Barntech,

by "express shipping" you mean UPS/DHL/FedEx shipping or just and "express" option by simple post service? Usually (at least USPS - I faced with this once) can not guarantee you really express shipping worldwide - there is a "small-font-remark" like "only withing the US" (for USPS).

Cheers.
