Do you sell because of the rise/deep in the market, or do you sell because you actually needed the money and not because of the deep/rise of the price, or you're the type that just jumps in pick some profits and jump out?
I am a long term holder of altcoins. I sell my tokens (both alts and bitcoin) when I am broke, and when I need some money. I don't sell because there is a deep in the market, I sell because I need to. So, what about you?
I try not to sell tokens and coins when I need money. Not the fridge! With this approach, a lot of benefits do not get! I sell coins and tokens when their price is high enough. Often coins and tokens pump artificially raise the price. This is a very common phenomenon.The smaller the capitalization of the coin, the easier it is to stamp. Do not pay attention to it, because for earnings you need to know in advance where the pump will be.

In my opinion, the Ethereum will remain the best blockchain network after the last updates. EOS has little chance to push it, but this project will take away part of the future ICO market. Ethereum will overcome the crisis and recover in price. The fate of EOS is not difficult to predict.

I think that both projects are good and have their own niches in the market. Very simply 
. I read and analyze all available information about the coin. After, if the coin I like, I keep watch for a while. After that I decide to buy this coin, if it seems good to me.If we are talking about top altcoins, I choose only out of sympathy. I think they are all good and will grow in the same proportion with bitcoin. It's a matter of taste in the end.
