I got to add up to the whining mass that's gathering.

Ive attempted to trade the last 14 days, and it's a mess to say the least.
Apart from being unable to login most of the time (502,520) its impossible to make any trades.
Or atleast in the manner you want to make trades!
"Invalid response from server. Please try again."
"Your order MAY have failed. Please refresh the site.~"

I ended up with almost twice the amount of wanted BCH after such errors, cus trades still occured but no balance showed.

I have not tried to withdraw any funds but this is because I'm unable to enter the withdrawal-page rather then having actual transfer-issues.

Let me say this loud and clear; This is NOT an acceptable way to handle service and customers. Especially not when the base of operations is economical funds. Shame on you, Kraken!

ps. I will withdraw all my funds when Im able. Im out of trust for Kraken. Sorry. ds

Oh, Im glad to see progress in this thread!

I've been holding xc for quite some time. Its a lil sad to see them at just a few % of its former glory...

It makes no sense for me to sell em.
xc is one of the alt-cryptos I long-term bet on when I decided to stop daytrading and just invest my btc and leave em alone.
Great move to reduce stress I tell you! Smiley

So, anyway.. im longing for the day when you get ahead in the crypto-race.. Smiley best of luck in your development of xc, block, w/e youre up for atm.

so, whats up at this end of crypto?
I once saw a coin with remarkable potential. What happened?

Is it like with many other coins?
Dev has a great idea,
work like hell,
shit start poppin up along the way,
development ongoing in steep uphill...
This is where many quit and the coin goes into scam-mode..

Is this just one among other, or are there still any progress behind the scenes?

I hope so. oh yes.
Crypto is still in its youth, and the mobile versions has some serious potential..

As for buying another house, my next permanent home will likely be on a seastead or sailboat. I left the US and do not see returning unless they have a USSR moment.

Rental car will be difficult, most places I have traveled to in Europe I opt out of getting a rental and just get a hotel in the city and walk everywhere. I always book my hotel rooms through expedia which accepts Bitcoin so there's no problem there.

For things online that require a credit card, I used to rely on brawker.com but now I need to figure out a new way. Hopefully the Bitcoin community fills the vacuum that them leaving has created..

Within short your credit card issues will be resolved.

A big step in BTC-reallife adeption is around the corner;
You will soon be able to "precharge" a CC with BTC. Smiley

@op; This, sir, is a genius brainstorm!  Grin

I've spent countless night thinking on the subject "adept or perish/block chain" and time after time I get a little confused why no government hasn't adepted already and made their own BTC 2.0 and let people change it vs country-currency 1:1.
With some programs and apps it would make life sooooo..oo....ooooo much easier for 99,9% of the population.

Why aint this already real?
My answer always boils down to three words;
1; Banks
2; Money
3; Power

The block chain is the future, it's UNDENIABLE!

Once again; Thanks for a genius brainstorm!

Stop, wait, wuuuut?

Bitcoin is just a application where the block chain is used as a value/currency.
You ought to see that using blockchain as a currency is like.. driving a koenigsegg, but never faster then 10mph.

BTC will never be able to take the leap that a new coins with better features will be able to do..

Some of these new coins is what will change the game of crypto. THEN you'll get the btc-race you really want.. (for a while)

The release of BTC-precharged creditcards!   Lips sealed

Re: Wait.... what's wrong with "Obamacare"?
by
Grg
on 03/12/2014, 01:23:52 UTC
Im thinking about writing a long and over-developed post about how retarded America and its fcked up politics, de-railed moneysystem, healthcare, medicine, how-to-war... and so on. But I realize I'm at a Bitcoin-Forum and I assume that if you found your way here your mind should be quite enlightened already.

So I jump all that shit and go straight to my point:
Health-care should be free and for everybody. EVERYBODY. Obama-care is a small step in the right direction, but its far from civilized. (IMO!)

Yeah, now is the time to start whining about % of salary at insurances and shit..
Let me tell you; If everyone push a % of the salary at the government and the government DONT WASTE IT AT SHIT there wont be a problem to have a working healthcare, education, w/e you want....

And to everyone still whining something like; I dont want to pay any tax. Hell no MORE tax then I do at this moment!
Make a calculation..
How much do you earn? Whats your monthly % payment for insurances and similar to keep you safe in the social society you're living in?

I live in a country where ~30% is tax up to about $40k/year. Somewhere around there tax start to ramp up to 50-something% at $70k >70k =55%~
No, Im not sure about these numbers but consider em as a guideline for how my situation is.

I dont have to care about health-insurances. The fee for any illness is $15. If I break my hip, loose a toe, smash a teeth, blast a kidney.. Ill still get it fixed (if possible) for $15.
Meds wont ever cost more then ~$1500/year.
Im allowed to study wtf I want. If I'm serious about my application I should make sure to have grades to be accepted. But $ is NEVER an issue.
I have decent/good roads to drive on. Dang, I could go on, but I think I made my point.

Curious about how I think a society should work? google any Scandinavian health and/or education-system. They are all somewhat on track.

IMO;
USA is fooked up. Way beyond repair.
I'll sit on my chair, enjoying the chaos made my human stupidity.

I agree

logic dictates that we are are at the mercy of a minority that is looking after their own interests, they have the control.

is it you or I or the masses who is going to rise to power and change the way it works, no.

The ones that want power obtain power and in most cases for their own interest.

Not for a second should anyone trust the person next to them as their own interest will always come first.

Yes there are people doing good in the world but they usually do not want power.

Whatever social changes occur do so due to the benefit to the economy that drives the interest of the money lenders.

Do you think a motor car (one of the biggest money spinners in the economy) is always affordable even on low income for the benefit of the masses, no it is affordable to ensure that you get to work and contribute to the economy and continue to buy fuel.

Why is it a house for most people takes 30 years to pay off and has never decreased in affordability, it is to ensure that the interest is paid for as long as possible.

Other things keep getting cheaper but not the essentials (house, medical etc) to ensure the most profit to those that benefit.

BOOM!

I like your clairvoyance!

Re: Which Crypto Currencies do people think will last? Apart from ....
by
Grg
on 02/12/2014, 17:43:23 UTC
Define "last".

In a year; BTC, LTC, DOGE, DRK will still be around... along with shitloads of other dying/crippled cryptos

In 10 years? Impossible to say, but my guess is that there will be some Anon-crypto, probably decentralized (eg xc, xst, sdc... Whatever gets flawless and functional first)
BTC will probably be outrunned by some smoother, faster, more functional crypto that is designed to be a general worldwide crypto that will piss off Visa, Mastercard, Banks, accountants...  Grin

There will probably be some government/company-developed crypto around too. (Ethereum?)

Shortterm;
My crystalball tells me that the anon-crypto that manage to merge with openbazaar (or similar) will be a winner when the DarknetMarkets gets shut down/users start moving to OB.
This would be a winner with the massive and insane cashflow it would provide.. atleast for a few years.
The key would be to have the crypto easy available for the crowd. (eg pay with visa-card for crypto)

-Grg

ps.
A thing within Crypto that I never understood is why no genius make a coin "complete" before release.
To get publicity it should be released in a basic version and be updated every 2 weeks or so to keep the interest up/cashflow in.
In eg 6 months/12 updates there would be a functional, perfect coin for whatever reasons were decided when the idea of the coin originated.  Huh
ds.

edit; Trying to make more sense.

Re: What is Ethereum?
by
Grg
on 02/12/2014, 16:43:15 UTC
I'd try to explain Ethereum like this;

Bitcoin uses Blockchain-tech to provide a currency.
The blockchain-tech is so friggin genius made and is suitable for WAY more then just keep track of a currency/value.

Ethereum uses this tech to provide much more then a coin/value. Its somewhat a genius move, but cryoto/blockchain could be even more then this.

Like Stealthcoin said; There is a major risk with a currency under Ethereum.
Even though I doubt the idea and concept of Ethereum, but this kind of development is exactly what Crypto needs!

Re: [FIBRE] | BLOCKNET | 625k | FibreDark | FibreLock | FibreMixer | FibreGateway |
by

  • At equal fiat price, half the supply means twice the value.
  • At equal supply, a coin priced at 1 mBTC can grow 1,000 times respective to BTC.

So I use 2 ratios that show growth potential of a coin relative to BTC :

  • Potential Growth_actual = PGa = (BTC supply / coin supply)         /  [coin price in BTC]
  • Potential Growth_total   = PGt  = ( 21 million / max coin supply)  /  [coin price in BTC]

The PGt for Litecoin for example is a mere 25 (@0.01BTC/LTC), while the PGt for FeatherCoin is still over 300 and Worldcoin could grow 3,000 times in order to reach BTC valuation.

With a PGa of 42,000 plus great innovation and solid developers, Fibre is a no-brainer investment...

There are still alot of X,Y and Z in the equation of any alt-coins. But I really like the rawness and basic truth in your post.

Thumbs up!  Smiley

Re: 2014 Proof of Honor (POH) Awards - Nominate an Individual!
by
Grg
on 22/11/2014, 01:30:28 UTC
From OP:
" Coins Source will, with the help of the community and those who have the best
interest of this market at heart, open up a voting process and reward this badge
as a sign of honor and respect. It will be with consideration to technology,
philosophy, and those aiding in the movement of the original Bitcoin philosophy.

PoH will stand through time just as the Nobel Prize did in its ideal situations.
It will be awarded to those who believed in an idea enough to make it successful
and in turn push this environment towards a more positive future."

Yeah, sounds great!...

Will there be any selection-process among the nominees before the actual voting?

I have a suggestion:
Let the voting be between people that has proven themselves.
Really proven themselves!
Im talking about that persons that has done 'AAaawesome' things should be dismissed unless they can back up their invention/coin/tech. Dosen´t have to be open source, just reliably proof that it is more then just a possible price-hype-Pn'D-tech...

This would rattle out doubtful nominees and make sure that the PoH really stand for something, and reduce the risk of a shill-account-winner.

Just my 2 flippin' cents..
