The who.is for the domain shows it was first registered on January 6th of this year. I wonder if it has had any legitimate sales in the past three months.

It is interesting to see these physical products that pull some cryptocurrency related data to display as "fashion". These shoes in particular remind me of the much-ridiculed necklace that showed NFTs on an updating display and represent an interesting trend during public adoption of cryptocurrencies in general.

Centralized authorities can have benefits, namely to restore order against the will of parties. The important factor here is who needs to consent: the authority, which can help in the case of theft but can also misuse its power, or the actual user, who is powerless to force another user's hand. As centralization lessens, people will have to become more directly responsible for their actions and risky behavior without trusting any higher level protocols that could handle transactions but fall under the issue of having to trust another party.

What will be the next city to adopt this initiative? What do you think?
I'm actually pretty surprised that it looks like California is not doing anything about bitcoin, with the Silicon Valley and all the big companies headquarters I was expecting something and instead I don't recall any news about cryptos in Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc.

It will be interesting to see what's gonna happen especially in Miami.

Increasingly it appears that the revolutionary technology of Silicon Valley has stopped becoming revolutionary, it has become the mainstream standard- not the oddball. I would expect the trend of other non-Californian but heavily tech-invested cities (like Austin) to become new epicenters for cryptocurrency moving forward.

Still, other U.S. politicians have taken a tough stance against crypto. Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren recently called for tough surveillance of crypto, to prevent Russia from potentially evading sanctions through the medium.

Good luck trying to determine which addresses belong to everyday Russian citizens and convincing all intermediaries to avoid doing business with them...

I agree. Something is heavily skewing that stat. Does anyone have a link to the 1/3 number? I wonder why exactly the number is ~4x higher percentage than other polls. Maybe some localized area that has unusually heavy support for btc?

  • Visa and MasterCard stopped their services in Russia.

  • Russian people started to use cryptocurrencies as a way to overcome the sanctions.

Cryptocurrencies always work for the common man- not the institution, not the government, only real people. I just hope that this isn't misrepresented as "Russia" rather than the innocent people residing within its borders.

Hey guys I found the private key for this address 12ib7dApVFvg82TXKycWBNpN8kFyiAN1dr it contains 31000btc it was mined in the early 2010 may 13 to be exact the owner lost access to the private key am not the owner and this are not my btc but I have the private key and access to the address the owner should please contact me so I can return the private key but must provide proof he/she owns the address I will take some fee of course cause I found the key but please if you own this address contact me your btc is still intact and it's not going anywhere if you need proof I have the keys i will gladly sign a message for you or move btc out of the address and move it back in again this is not a joke i repeat i have the private keys to this address 12ib7dApVFvg82TXKycWBNpN8kFyiAN1dr the owner should please contact me so I can return the keys

Based on blockchain.com, https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/12ib7dApVFvg82TXKycWBNpN8kFyiAN1dr?page=5, it appears that the address has been consistently receiving btc for the past couple of years so even if you miraculously have found the private key, the account may have some kind of purpose- I have no clue what it is, maybe a burner address or some unconcerned billionaire's long term savings.

Maybe I downplayed too much previously as there would most likely be some effect, but I find it highly unlikely that this specifically (Kazakhstan ban) would cause any practical disruptions but rather just more bumps on the road.

Could this truly be Satoshi's wallet?

Sounds to me like someone remembered a forgotten laptop. Wouldn't surprise me if satoshi transferred some of his btc one day but with so many other potential individuals it is highly unlikely that any specific event was satoshi.

I think its unlikely to make a noticeable change if 1) you aren't looking too close and 2) you aren't running a serious mining firm in Kazakhstan.

Since the largescale interruption of the Chinese markets hasn't made *that* much difference, I find it hard to believe this will have much effect on btc at large.

Even the legally registered ones were closed.

The ideal conditions of freedoms for the user will always extent its freedom to a bad actor. When you are free from the control of a centralized authority, you are not only free from its interruption but also from its mercy.
