Even if the address is known, is it possible to find the responsible party and retrieve the funds? I also ask because I lost a significant sum of VERI and I know the address to which it was sent. Maybe there is hope? Needless to say, it's been tough watching the price skyrocket!

Reluctantly I'll admit I fell victim to a phishing attack, which is strange because I'm usually very careful when it comes to not clicking links in emails. The email came in the form of a slackbot notification which linked to a phony MyEtherWallet site, so I entered my private key and less than a minute later my wallet was empty. You should only access MEW from your bookmarks, and I know this, so I can only blame myself for being so careless.
Wait so what Reggie calls advanced Hackers, was the MEW slack phishing scam? You're joking right? He also claimed they thwarted 2FA.

Whether VERI's market cap is a scam to you or otherwise is another story, but for you to give false information is a deliberate scam.

I think the recent hints from Reggie are enough to drive some action... You know it's going to be VERI exciting! Seriously, a deal with a top 10 exchange?
I expect price to at least double from here, if not triple, once the news is out.
I think there's a couple of bits of news coming:
1. Exchange-related (as in getting listed on a mainstream exchange)
2. The top 10 stock exchange deal.
Both of these will make the price explode.

People on here are OBSESSED with market cap and treating coins like stocks. This is a whole new world. You will do well to drop your stock market paradigms.

2. It's not a "stock market paradigm". It's an accounting paradigm in which (like any other accounting paradigm) value does not 'disappear'. It's simply accounted for somewhere else.
Dudes what are we tokking 'bout really, some dude said a price at youtube (actually talked about parity with btc, so if btc is $500, then there's that.) sure fantasize a bit, but focus on now, and where we stand, and what the project is gonna be in a month that's a whole lot more useful.
When is VERI going to get listed on a big exchange like Bittrex?
Did I interpret it wrong or did Reggie imply that the big exchanges have some kind of problem with VERI and/or were bribed by competitors?The plan is to don't need them altogether. Bypass them and let them come to Veritaseum, or out compete them.

Our patent apps predate the Goldman apps, and the Goldman apps cover less area.
You don't have a patent, you just filed an application for one (which won't be granted since Goldman Sachs got his). If they decide to take you to court for violation of intellectual property rights, it will take years for the justice to rule out. In the meantime veritaseum will be dead in the water.
That is not true. If some patent predates another then it comes to Prior Art which is pretty easy to prove based on patent submitted dates.

In crypto patent doesn't work how you can can make it effective in decentralized project. Only noobs will care about this kind of new nothing will happen to this project if you think this trick would be nice to buy cheap than it will be useless.

With statements like that no one can be a legend. He is not tweeting to be so abrupt. If he would say I wonder how VERI will combat this patent or How will handle potential infringement or How will this patent affect VERI then his statement would be completely un-FUD. As such is 100 % FUD.

Yes, I also believe Veritas' market cap can still exceed ethereum's market cap for only a brief while before adjusting lower below eth's as this is would be an "overbought" condition.
Currently we can get Veritas only thru eth alone.
Eth is currently used both as a form of "currency" and gas, and I see a conflict there.
If somehow eth is used purely just as gas, then Veritas' market cap can exceed eth's.
This we will need to see the Ethereum group of developers' roadmap ahead.
Vitalik Buterin himself said eth is not an investment (I would assume he meant not an investment as currency).
So maybe ethereum will eventually be just used for gas.
