Filled out the survey for you, you should perhaps add options for people who have mined their BTC and not just bought/sold them.

Other than that happy to help.

Scan.co.uk now accepting Bitcoin.
by

Scan is a massive UK Hardware retailer, that many large companies I have worked for have used for many, many years.

http://www.scan.co.uk/info/bitcoin

When shopping for my company for a few parts this morning I found the above splashed all over their site.

Good news when large retailers are starting to finally adopt Bitcoin.

P.S not 100% sure this is in the right section, but most relevant I could find due to me finding this newsworthy.

Well people we should leave this be, with a bit of luck this coin will never even make it to an exchange and will discourage further sloppy releases of crypto currencies......

Re: A proposed fair premine idea

The way I see it the longer we take to actually introduce a crypto currency that was fairly implemented the more chance we have of one of the BIG governments making their own successful and unfair crypto currency and destroying everything we have done.

I do wish people would stop releasing junk and start actually listening to and working with the community on here.

Re: The YACoin Superfun Premine Thread

Meh this coin needs killing off and someone to start over, good ideas, very very poor execution.

Will any new crypto currency ever really take off when the launch is surrounded by such controversy and prejudice towards some users.

So I propose that we as a whole community start a new coin. We pick a date say 2-3 months in the future (with big countdown clocks, everything) and then the whole community sits down and works everything out, gets everything working and tested, gets to vote on all the intricate little things that make a crypto coin better than it's predecessor. When it has all been decided and tested thoroughly we wait for the predetermined date to start mining along with everyone else in the community.

I could do with someone with a good reputation around the community as the chair person/executor of the idea, someone that will be responsible for full disclosure of ALL details to do with the currency.

Anyone interested please PM me and we can start a ball rolling.

Best thing to do would be to get the miners stable on YaCoin using it as a TESTNET, until we have stable miners for both Linux and Windows and to see if someone doesn't just bring out a GPU miner anyway.

Once it looks a fairly safe bet as a new coin we can just fork his git and start all over again with a fair race to the finish line.

How does this ^^ sound?

With the interest his thread has generated there is obviously a gap for a well thought out CPU only coin. With enough interest and support I don't even mind managing the project with full disclosure to ALL before mining begins. I'm here because I believe in crypto currencies, not because I see a get rich quick scheme. Unlike many around here it seems.

So why am I only getting 8kh/s on an i5 and 6-7kh/s on an i7 when other people are reporting numbers in the hundreds?

Using win7 64bit on all systems I guess is the issue? But then I see a few people with the same OS reporting these high numbers?

What the hell is going on?

some other process is taking a chunk of cpu usage. check your task manager

Definitely not, I'm an IT manager and in IT for over 20 years, so I am fully aware of everything my PC is currently doing. If I had an option and the programs I require ran properly in VMBox or WINE I would have Linux installed.

I still think there is something not "quite right" with the builds running on x64 windows....

Mining with 4 x i5 and 1 x i7 and have hit 1 block in over 16 hours..... What a crock of.....

I wish people would support their new crypto coin rather than release and run to the nearest exchange to dump their new found wealth.

Re: Transaction not getting confirmed, help!

Could be based around the transaction fees.

Things with a transaction fee are given priority processing. I'm guessing they don't add anything above the minimum fees for the transaction. Meaning it gets a low priority compared to all the smaller transactions at minimum fees, as they represent a larger percentage of the total transaction.

Kdbsync can be an asshole....

Had similar issues on a system that had an ATI card in it previously and I then upgraded to 2 x 7850's.
Can only assume it doesn't remove everything and causes a driver conflict of some sort.

Can you try....

Open Control Panel>Programs and features
Click on AMD Calayst Install Manager then click Change
Click Next on the welcome screen
Click Uninstall Manager then click Next
Click Custom then Next
Check box next to AMD APP SDK Runtime then click Next
Click Finish

Then try reinstalling the SDK from scratch.

Let me know how you get on.

Re: Any chance we can get some subforums?

Well can we at least get one for Litecoin...? It's trading at around $4 for a good few days now and without the DDoS would likely be a bit higher making this by far the second most popular coin. MtGox has also confirmed adding it to it's trading index. I'm not saying it needs a whole great list of forums like it's older brother BitCoin has but sure this is enough to mark it out from the crowd of others.

As request in the title, with the sudden surge in interest in various other crypto currencies, and this being the ONLY place to hang  Tongue

Any chance we could perhaps get some sub forums sorted out?

Just off the top perhaps:-

Litecoins
Bytecoins
Namecoins
PPCoins
All Other Coins

With the raised interests we need to sort this mess out before it gets unruly and a job no-one wants to do.

They are obviously just attacking the pool and not the website this time...

Just wondering what sort of DDoS protection the pool has?

Is there not a way to cluster the pool and have a failover redundancy? Obviously it would incur extra expense but would only be using bandwidth during attacks....

Hope all my shares counted up until the outtage....

Any updates on whats going on? Notroll is backup but confirmed a DDoS. MtGox and BTC-e have both had a ddos in the last 24 hours.

Should we all be solo mining? Is there a 51% attack happening now?

LTC Network Under Attack?
by
Hadez
on 04/04/2013, 13:35:39 UTC
Burnside is down
Notroll is down
BTC-E has been experiencing DDoS's

Is this the attempts of another crypto coin group to discredit LTC?

Or is this an attack by a bot group hoping to cause a crash in the prices as they missed the gravy train last week?

Thoughts on a postcard please.

P.S This maybe better in the Alt Currencies thread but I'm a noob =P
