Congratulations on the new developments of the Blue protocol. Working on the product is more important than only looking at the price development. With the new roadmap including the wallet update, new SDK and the revelation of the team members the success will come with time.

Congratulations on the launch of the product! This is a major milestone and I am sure, a lot of people have worked many days and nights to make this happen. Now the product has to be promoted, so more people will start using the computational power of Golem.

Re: Too late to invest in cryptos if you're old?

As long as they have some money to spare, which the elderly can afford to lose, there is no age limit to begin investing in Bitcoin. Of course, a proper research is necessary before investing all the money into something new.

If you cannot handle the swings, it might be a good decision to quit the coin business. It is not for the faint-hearted and even though there are risks, there are also huge possible rewards. I wish you all the best with your decision.

To everyone else: Only invest money, you can afford to lose.

It is a temporary rebounce after the dip. Not sure, if it will dip lower sometime soon or if it will go sideways from here. However, my guess is, that the next bull run will still take a while.

Re: Should we support altcoins ?
by

If bitcoin is about freedom of choice, then altcoins should definitely be supported.
With bitcoin also the blockchain technology has been introduced, which can have many different use cases besides being a decentralized currency. Hence, having and supporting altcoins is just the next step of the revolution.

Re: Bitcoin affects students' performance in school

Saying BTC affects students' performance at school is the same thing as saying any other hobby would affect the students's performance. If someone is able to make a fortune with stock trading, then the student might also put a lot of time into learning more about the topic and its methods.

Re: What is the basis of bitcoin?
by

The basis of bitcoin is much more than the sole speculation on its price and if it increases or decreases. First of all, you should make yourself familiar with the blockchain technology and why it was created. A good start is the 9 page whitepaper by Satoshi Nakamoto released around 10 years ago: https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf

It is interesting to note, that crypto currencies are considered legal in these countries, but that there are still many uncertainties regarding regulatory issues and taxation of events. It might be a set up for more regulatory measures in the future, but let's see, how it works out.

Re: Snapchat Officially Confirmed the Ban of ICO Ads
by

It was just a matter of time after the Google ICO ad ban, that other big companies will follow.
It is not a bad thing, as many ICOs were scam and even most of the honest ones will not succeed in the end.
Overall, this might be a good development for the crypto currency world, as the perception of crypto currencies will improve due to this development.

Re: Bitcoin in 2018 will be at $50,000
by
Halcyon Days
on 22/03/2018, 20:59:28 UTC
At the end of last year, everyone was bullish expecting a furter price rise to $50-100k. At the current bear market, there are many pessimistic price forecasts. However, only a year ago, not many people would have expected a price rise to almost $20k in such a short time span. Many are pretty confident, that Bitcoin will make a new move upwards sometime in the future, not sure, if this will be in 2018 though, but as you see, there are 9 months left.

Why the update was moved? It was march 12 and now april 12 are they joking? Blue price is dipping everyday i hope this postpone will not make blue price to go deeper.

I know, that many people are worried regarding the price, especially during this bear run after the bullish phase back in December/January; however, it is way more important to develop the project step by step than to just look at the price

We are looking forward to the new update in April, keep it up team BLUE!

Re: Why Bitcoin is Different From Other Currencies?
by
Halcyon Days
on 11/03/2018, 20:37:13 UTC
BTC works decentralized without a need of a centralized instutional eco system. It is the introduction to the blockchain technology, in which double spending is not possible, mining gets new coins, but also makes it possible to verify transactions as well as fees and every transaction is listed forever in the chain. And this is just the tip of the iceberg, there are many more things, which make Bitcoin unique.

It's great, that the messenging apps are embracing Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
Chat app Line has also planned to start cryptocurrency services [1], which makes sense, as Japan is crypto's safe haven. Telegram is also on the way to initiate the largest ICO with TON [2].
Interesting times ahead.

That is a great achievement. Especially for countries with inflationary currencies, BTC might be a way to secure "value", hence, this might help to pay the tuition in their own country or countries abroad.

Re: Litecoin to be over $5000 in 2018?
by
Halcyon Days
on 10/03/2018, 18:43:47 UTC
Without Bitcoin starting a bull run again and getting to new all time highs, it is quite unlikely, that Litecoin will get to over $5000 in this year, even though it might be possible in the long run sometime in the future. And as many times mentioned in this thread, there are many other altcoins and competitors, which might even surpass the Litecoin market cap. It might be different, if Litecoin starts to revamp their technology and roadmap.

Re: What is the official binance site?
by
Halcyon Days
on 10/03/2018, 17:40:18 UTC
The site without any special characters it the official one. Sometimes there are strange variations of a, e or i with two dots, a dot below etc. Hence, you should really be careful, when you click an external link. Even though the optics resemble the official site, it can be a fake phising site. You should rather type it yourself or bookmark the official site to be sure.
Furthermore, I am not sure, why the google search does not give you the official site at the top. It might be against their terms of service, not sure.

Re: 2018-06-03 Bitcoin Dips Below $11K Leaving Bulls on Shaky Ground

The article still says, that from a technical point of view, the next couple of days to weeks are decisive times for a bull or bear run of Bitcoin. There was a posting a few days ago, that the top BTC addresses stocked up in BTC, meaning this might be an indicator for an upcoming bull run. However, they also kept increasing their amount during the last couple of months. Let' see, what will come true.

Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.?
by
Halcyon Days

A Bitcoin advertisement would be great, as it exposes BTC to a broader audience. There are a few billboard ads, which were already shared. We shouldn't forget, that at this year's Super Bowl advertisement session included an ad referring to the Bitcoin futures:
https://www.financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency/news/bitcoin-goes-super-crypto-firms-storm-super-bowl-advertisement-stage/

To quote Henry Ford:
"A man who stops advertising to save money is like a man who stops a clock to save time."

Re: Is bitcoin is the new era of currency?
by
Halcyon Days
on 05/03/2018, 22:26:13 UTC
Bitcoin introduces not only a new era of currency, but a new era of a revolutionary technology. Just by looking at the different use cases of all the currently available altcoins, this shows the potential and game changing aspects of the blockchain technology. This is just the beginning and I am curious to see, what will survive the initial curiosity and will be established in the long run.
