Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread.

Day 3 for me and I still have a S3 that can not hash as it doesn't display any hashing boards.  I flashed the ROM with:

antMiner_S320140811.bin
antMiner_S320140826.bin
antMiner_S320141013.bin
antMiner_S320141024.bin
antMiner_S320141126.bin

I've also tried the reset option from the GUI (button doesn't work),

I'm having the same problem -

Is there any chance I could swap a control module from an S1, burn new firmware, and ... profit?

Re: [ANN] sph-sgminer: multi-coin multi-algorithm GPU miner | added MaruCoin

I'm having issues compiling the miner. When I ./configure, I get this:

Code:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
sgminer 4.1.0
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Configuration Options Summary:

  Use git version......: yes
  libcurl(GBT+getwork).: Enabled: -lcurl
  curses.TUI...........: FOUND: -lncurses
OpenCL...............: NOT FOUND. GPU mining support DISABLED
configure: error: OpenCL not found

I've got the APP-SDK installed, and I installed boinc-amd-opencl to try to fix this. My cl.h header is located at /opt/AMDAPP/include/CL. I have a strange feeling that the config file is just not finding cl.h, but I'm not sure how to fix it.

The first time the Wright brothers took flight, they only got about 200 feet...

Dakrsend actually works fine, just the masternode payment that sent things askew. We'll pick ourselves up, dust off, and carry on.

It's still a fantastic idea, and now we have some idea what >won't< work Smiley

Amazon ECC is surely the way to go, whilst keeping the 1000 DRK in an offline wallet, I think I've seen dev say it is, is that right?

Speaking of Amazon masternodes, does anyone know if chaeplin's guide is up to date right now? I'm busy so havent been able to follow any changes to setting up masternodes

https://darkcointalk.org/threads/how-to-set-up-ec2-t1-micro-ubuntu-for-masternode-part-2-3.241/

No, since the latest update, you must also create a masternode private key.

at the beginning of step 15, do this before anything else:

Code:

darkcoind &

darkcoind masternode genkey

darkcoind stop

Save the output you get from this and add it to this part of step 15

Code:
cat >> ~/.darkcoin/darkcoin.conf << EOF
#------------
masternode=1
masternodeprivkey=[output from genkey]
addnode=23.23.186.131
#----------
EOF

The rest of step 15 should remain the same .
Note: if you already have
Code:
masternode=1
set in your darkcoin.conf, you will need to change it to
Code:
masternode=0
before the genkey command will work. If you are starting from scratch, you should be fine because the masternode= key isn't defined yet and defaults to =0.

Hope that helps

Anyways, again, Is there a console command in wallet to see MN count?

If you open the debug window (Help > Debug Window) and click the console tab, you can type

Code:
masternode list

and that will give you a list of masternodes, although you'd have to count them on your own.

Is that what you are asking?

I have good news. Check out block 7290. Masternode payments works with p2pool.

That's Grrrreat!

what do pool operators need to do to patch? Or will the fix get pulled into chaeplin's github?

Kellog's frosties or this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ow7pwIDhl5c ?

Totally unrelated to Darkcoin but I love that video lol

I do love to sidetrack onto random memes

Here's the new schedule for development:

- RC2 (masternode payments, DGW3) : May 14th
- RC3 (1000 DRK limit and denominated change) : May 21st
- After this, I'll find someone to vet the code and open source.
- RC4 (Bugs, security issues)
- Testing, then opensource

Awesome! I wish I was online more the past few weeks, but RL has got me running like crazy.

I'm psyched that we are so close to having this run in the wild!

I wonder how Eduffield is doing today  Cool

Whenever I think of Evan, and he's been silent, I picture him with his nose glued to the screen, manically typing code, oblivious to the world around him, LOL.

But it's Friday, so it's more likely that he's partying with his buddies, and having a beer, LOL.

Then again... last time we hadn't heard from him all weekend, that Monday, he put out a big Beta, or was it RC1?

That's funny, I picture him sipping a glass of Drambuie and dictating code into the Starship Enterprise main computer....

LOL, I'm actually picturing Linus from the peanuts cartoons (like when he's playing piano), so Me=old, you=geek Wink  LOL (I'd rather be you!!!)

Ha! It was Schroeder that plays the piano! Tongue

There is NO buy order for dark. If i attempt to sell my 5BTC of DRK the market will be duped hard !

I realize the "duped" is probably a typo, but it seems both funny and appropriate for this post!

4.) We have something very special coming up in May that is nothing less than epic. We are keeping it a secret until the day of the event because we will be the first cyrpto-currency in history to do what we are planning to do. By the end of May everyone; including the supporters of BTC will look at this community in awe.

I really hope the surprise involves festive party hats...

This sounds interesting, but there is so little substance. It's hard to care when they don't really tell you anything other than "Watch this space".

I don't think BC is an enemy, tho. I think they are just another competing concept. At least they (as opposed to some other alts) have some interesting ideas (POS vs POW). It will be interesting to see how it all works out.

2 weeks ago price was 89 cents

now  53 cents.

thats some %40 drop in value.

and you know what.

total value of coins decreased from 88 million to 22 million.

thats 1/4 th.

mining profitability is bad. almost on par with hirocoin (which is dying quickly with diff down to 49 from 189 last week)

darkcoin hash rate down to 12m from 19m last week. (30% drop)

these are hardcore facts with numbers.

And numbers are tied to real world events:

Bitcoin has lost almost 30% of it's value in that same time - that is the reason for the 40% drop in DRK/USD value. There are fewer fiat exchanges, so the USD/DRK is really USD/BTC -> BTC/DRK

The last (admittedly low volume) transactions for fiat on Prelude.io have USD/DRK at .95 USD/ 1 DRK. If the value of DRK could free-float against USD, it would likely have stayed the same. It is still in the .0013 range against BTC - a statistically insignificant change.

The coin supply decrease was intentional, not a market response. It means nothing in an economic sense except that the decision was made to further limit the number of coins created. Please explain why that is relevant.

the DRK hash rate varies widely. Over the last 24 hours, it has been as high as 19GH/s (drk.poolhash.org/poolhash.html) It has been steadily growing, and the fluctuation in block to block hash rate is an intentional design element by the developers. Please explain why this concerns you.

lies, damn lies, and statistics."

Can I suggest that if people want to offer criticism, please step up and offer your time & work to the cause. Darkcoin is entirely volunteer based, so we do the best we can with the resources we have available. I would LOVE it if the solution were as simple as "stop changing things, everything's fine". A vote for no more changes to the logo is just that -- your vote. Please don't try to subvert the democratic process -- campaigning loudly for your opinion doesn't give you more votes. We're nearly there with the logo, and I don't expect anyone wants a long period of deliberation on variants now that we have the base design chosen.

From here, there's still a lot of work to be done. Logo --> branding guide --> press releases, graphics, website, etc. The process of hashing out high quality, professional branding via group consensus is always going to be painful & tedious, and this is something I fully accepted before jumping in.

Branding is important even if it seems trivial sometimes. So let's take the time to get it right. The community is coming out with some great work, like the baby blue variation. To me these contributions represent progress. A vote will likely be called to decide on the logo & colour palette, and then we can consider these things finalised and move forward.

I fully understand & sympathise that branding efforts are taking quite a lot of time. It's a pain in my ass too, let me assure you. But I believe in taking the time to do things right the first time. Please get behind the effort and support it, because it represents our face to the world.

To address the concern about volume of posts on logo stuff in this thread, may I make a suggestion:

We move all logo/branding discussion to darkcointalk.org, as a self-enforced policy.

Yay/nay?

Absolutely.

Nice!  I'd like to see how it looks with the stylized D made bigger and set behind the text.

Its nice But I think the D needs to be bigger, there is too much empty space.

You're right - It probably doesn't need the text on the front of the coin, at least not on the front - a big D on the front, and then perhaps the Darkcoin text on the back somehow...
