Re: MtGox withdraw 5% fee?
by
HappyBitCoinUser
on 08/01/2014, 22:39:42 UTC
Finally got a response.

Seems I need to make a JPY wallet on MtGox.

Then buy
USD -> BTC

Then sell
BTC -> JPY

Click Settings -> Main Currency -> JPY -> Save

Now there will be 2 wallets, as a drop down. Click on the USD and will see JPY drop down option. Use that when selling BTC.

Hopefully we'll get our wires now.

Anyone else have experience doing this?

The Fiat withdraw delay thread has already 137 pages.
Expect bitcoin withdraw delay thread will make the same progress!

I cant understand why people still trust them.
Maybe because in most cultures a boy doesnt become a real man until he gets goxed?  Grin

Any idea when the last fiat withdrawal was received by anyone and how long it took? Waiting on 10k over here....

Over $10k probably got you flagged by the banks due to government regulations.

If you take out $9500 multiple times that'll get you flagged for "structuring" which a crime.

Its no-win. Just contact your bank or their bank, make sure its all authorized, etc.

How long does it take for them to reply when sending a support ticket question?

Seems nobody home on their end to answer anything.

Buy High, Sell Low, is what some people did.

Who bought coins at $1000+

LOL!

Lost about 1/2 its value.

Just wait for them to go back to $0.01 - $5.00 again.

Soon when all governments and banks disallow any exchange websites, and you can't get your paper money out of it, then value will be $0.00 and you lose 100% of your money.

Using BTC for investment is out yes.

There will always be a crowd claiming they support the idea, and aren't in it for the money.

Lot of people that bought in during the $1000-$1200 lost 50% of their value/investment.  Grin

Back to $5 BTC

China no longer has positive influence, so probably going to sink down all the way to $5 each now.

After United States, Japan, Europe, and other countries/continents find ways to ban BTC by the gov and banks refusing wires to/from exchange sites, then value will probably have another flash crash down to $0.01 per bitcoin like the one in 2011. At that point, I might pick up 1,000 BTC for novelty.

oh yea and another reason i think something is off is due to no one knowing who the creator of the bitcoin is. if bitcoin is determined to be a ponzi scheme it would be good to remain unknown....... i feel really dumb for saying all of this, i don't really think all of this im just exploring ideas.

Bitcoin is traded in a free marketplace environment. Ponzi schemes can been built on top of it (Pirate40) but they will get busted or collapse.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=7815.0

ok i can accept bitcoin isnat a ponzi scheme but, it still seems vulnerable to market manipulation by large owners

Yeah, its not a Ponzi scheme. Only people that say that don't know what they are talking about and probably don't know the definition.

Its more or less a stock to invest money into, value could go up or down, except this is a stock that the government wants to get rid of, making people think twice about investing.

If you were invested for the idea and not the money, then you wouldn't care so much what the value was.

Many people here reading and researching how to make a quick buck, then pretend they are all about the concept.

I think going down 33% ($300) in just few hours is good sign of a crash.

You tried too hard, and already knew the answer.

Have you ever heard of stock market or bubbles?

You should probably research about that stuff first before getting into BitCoin.

Its basically the same thing.

So you are surprised the price can come down after it goes up? Really?

Dropped $300 in a few hours, will probably see $140 price later today. Sell now while you can, don't be last person and take a loss.

People are panic selling, and the price is going down, probably back to $140.

Sell now while your coins still have value, before other people do.
