The Vertcoin website really needs a text converter that people can enter their bat file text/thread concurrency in to that turns around and spits out a suggestion for them to start at.  It seems that most people are held up on the TC value to start mining VTC.

Watched three Scrypt coins launch today.  On each coin, there were several 10+MH folks.  This is a stark increase than I've seen over the past few months.  I imagine more and more people will also start noticing this as well and get the clue, the ASICs are already here.

I think it's just the front end; I'm still getting accepts on the miner.

Seems like a nice smooth launch so far.  Wonder if it will have any value.

What is the purpose of a stuttered relaunch?  What got screwed up?

No one with BTC is putting money into alt coins right now because every is taking hits from MtGox's bullshit, and all the fucking hackers hitting the various exchanges.

It would take something like 10 BTC to by up all the sell orders on Polo and get VTC into the 7's or higher, but people are hording their BTC in private wallets until things get sorted out.

The fact the difficulty has been steadily, be it slowly, climbing is a sign of the faith people have in this coin.  It is the first of its kind, and it will be a prime crypto; we just need to make it through all of the crap going on right now.  http://coinz.co.vu/diff/?vtc

Hey, they have to "test" their own ASICs for... 3 to 6 months... just to make sure, you know, they work and stuff.  And then after they difficulty goes up on everything and the profitability goes down, then they'll ship them out.  Just like Avalon and Butterfly labs did with their Bitcoin miners.

The checkmark logo is nice for marketing and business aspects, but I like the V logo for the community.  I also still think that they're close enough, and that the name is unique enough that people will catch the drift.

On a side note, I've been pimping this all over the Panda forum for the past couple pages.

Why so many rejects?  I'm about 50%.  Intensity is 15 and 20 and they're both about 50% on http://coye.dedicatedpool.com/

You need to post the rest of your system specs.

Here's mine:

Windows 7
AMD CPU (not all that important with GPU mining)
2x R9 290 cards (non x), water cooled.
16 GB ram.

Go to Vertcoin.Org
Download the Wallet (under the Get Vertcoin heading)
Download the Vertminer (under the Mine Vertcoin heading)

Unzip both files into a Vertcoin folder that you'll remember where you put them.  It is a good idea to put the miner and the wallet into their own sub-folders for organization.

Run the wallet.  I believe at this point in time, it has nodes already built into it and after a few minutes will eventually sync and start updating the block chain and catching up to speed.  Let us know if it doesn't start syncing after 10 minutes (you'll see the indicator at the bottom say "XX days/weeks/months behind" or something and on the lower left of the wallet window, it should say something like "Syncing blockchain").

While the wallet is syncing, go into the Vertminer folder and create a text file.  Name it something like Vertpool.bat but make sure the .bat actually turned it into a bat file.  

If its still a text file, that means you don't have file extensions displayed on Windows and you need to display them.  
Click Start/Windows Logo (Lower left of screen)
Type into search box "Folder Options"
Click the Folder Options icon
Click the "View" tab
Uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types"
Click OK.

If you didn't have file extensions displayed, go back and look at your Vertpool file and you'll probably see Vertpool.bat.txt

Delete the .txt and it should change the icon.  At this point, to edit it, you can right click on the icon and select Edit

Then enter your respective bat file information.  Here is mine, for example:

The --no-adl is for water cooled cards since the fan RPM is missing.  If you're not using water cooling, don't use it as it turns off temp monitoring and fan control.

The VqJFgFffT2XMZGRwVNTdmYyx4JQPvQT2NG+0.00151176 is actually two parts.
VqJFgFffT2XMZGRwVNTdmYyx4JQPvQT2NG is my Vertcoin address.  You'll find it in your Wallet under the Receive tab, and you can usually highlight the address with a mouse click, and then click "Copy Address" towards the bottom.

The +0.00151176 is the difficulty handler for the P2Pool I'm on.  I found that without it, the difficulty seems to change a lot and cause me to have higher rejects.  This may be my imagination, but I seem to only have about 5% rejects instead of 10% when it auto-diff'd.

So the important question is, how much RAM do you have, and what cards are you using?

What is the new official logo?  I've found like three so far.  What did they decide to run with?
