Re: To Buy BCH or not to Buy BCH?
by

well, nowadays, many think that prices will rise rapidly, but now we see that a lot of prices are dumped, it can even be said that the current dump is so big. well, maybe this is a pretty good price for having a BCH, but I suggest looking at the situation and conditions first.

If there are more miners mining the BCH, the price will rise But it is not certain in the hash fight.

This is decentralization, crypto prices are like a roller coaster, so many people say that prices rise and fall like a bubble, I'm sure they don't understand the market so they just say that.

The ETH,BCH or other good coins are for the long term. They are not bubbles.

if I do not think of you but different people's views may need information about bitcoin so that later he realized that eth and btc is not a bubble.

Both of them are not bubble and have potential to rise again.

I would like to mine eth or xmr. Is 570 better for xmr too?

I use the 580 for XMR, it is working well.

I do not believe in the term bubble to mean one big rise, and then pop it is all over. There are many recognized bubbles in traditional markets. The real estate is one, and I am even investing a small amount into a real estate project (blockchain but also real life) so that is two bubbles together I guess. There is nothing wrong with a market that goes up and bursts, and then goes back up again for a new bubble. When did bubbles suddenly become a bad thing?

Maybe the price of $20000 of bitcoin early this year was a bubble.

Re: 1200$ investment - What to buy ?
by
Haryford
on 26/05/2018, 14:54:03 UTC
If Ethereum is down to $ 500 levels and you can lower it to investmentable levels, you can get about 2 ETHs at $ 1200 in your hand. If you keep this amount for a long time, it will bring you a good profit when the etheric rise in the future.

It is better to buy around the $600 level. It is difficult for it to get to $500.

The best thing is to buy Ethereum, Bitcoin and such coins as:

1. TRX
2. Ripple
3. Litecoin
4. NEO

But the last four it's my opinion - you can choose something more
However, put most of your instment into Ethereum and Bitcoin
It's for save

Ripple is not decentralized, so it might not be a good choice.

Re: Why do people say Mining ETH with Nvidia cards is not profitable?
by
Haryford
on 01/05/2018, 14:24:43 UTC

Because they get a lot more profit mining other coins with nvidia cards.

Yes, you can make a profit mining ETH with Nvidia cards, it just not usually optimal. Equihash coins are usually more profitable than ETH on nVidia cards.

I think for 1070, it is of similar profitablilty mining ZEC and ETH.

Re: AMD mining DEAD NOW with Bitmain E3
by
Haryford
on 12/04/2018, 08:30:29 UTC
AMD mining is still not dead even if the Bitmain E3 dominate the EThash mining. There are still other profitable coins to mine using AMD GPUs ,if you are a true miner you will not get panic about the release of Bitmain E3, algo switch to the rescue but it will take time to adjust and fine tuning to other algo. AMD GPUs is still more energy efficient compared to NVIDIA, so that's why we can not conclude that AMD mining will be out of the mining scene.

I agree if you think the E3 is less efficient. But F3 will kill AMD mining in ETH.

I'm a small investor , new to crypto but i'm doing non stop research and i want an honest opinion on what you guys think i should buy with this capital .
Was thinking ETH , ETC(new pump coming soon-> japan DMM exchange luanch on 11 january) , Elix , PRL , Blue , AMP .
Any input and ideas are highly appreaciated .
Thanks !
I like your choice - ETH and the ETC. The Ethereum is a very promising coin. Many people abuse the Ethereum Classic, but I believe that this is an undervalued coin.
Here is my list of altcoins for you: Neo, Capp, Waves, Wings ,Stratis.

eth and etc can be a good investment especially, for now, the price is at the bottom of the price. I see you have a good list investment too but unfortunately, I don't know much about capp, maybe I will search more information about them so if I think it's a good investment, maybe I will invest some money too. I believe there are more coins that could be a good investment for a long-term but we need to search and read on their project so we can choose the coin.

If the ETH changes its POW algorithm to be more ASIC avert, then the price could rise a lot again.

i dont think its over yet, we still have this sentiment, of bitcoins gonna be the bubble chart, but this month has prove a good thing, if we can stay above $8k , i think april or may , we gonna have our healthy climb back , that dec climb isnt sustainable

I agree with that. If the bitcoin stay above $8000, that is good for the ETH, Bitcoin Cash or Litecoin.

Claymore, about 4 months ago, you told me that they update the miner, decreasing the time of the devfee, but this has not been done, when will you do an update on this miner? thanks clay

The only reason is the lack of time, sorry. I'm too busy with other miners: I released a number of other updates and new miner (NeoScrypt), a few minutes ago I released new version of dual miner.
For this miner I don't see any ways to improve its performance, so I'm going to reduce devfee and apply some minor improvements not related to the speed, but I'm still not sure when I can find time to do it. For example, right now I will have to check CryptoNote miner since afaik devs of Monero will change PoW very soon and that miner will stop working completely, it's more serious reason to update it asap. But I remember about this miner and my promise.

Thanks for the update and think of reducing the miner fees. You can reduce the fee now, it shall not take much of your time and more people will use it.

BTC is looking really good right now. Something will happen today, we're going up it seems, hope we brake that 10k mark

That is right. The BTC is above $9200 and most coins are rising.

I set up a rig with not much effort. I followed the BitsBeTrippin youtube channel. Once setup I can almost forget about it and it acts as a heater too which is nice now in January, but may have to move it in the summer time.

Do you the most profitable coin and just mine one coin?

I think the ZEC miner is already very efficient.

And how Fiji and 17.xx.x drivers, bad support 560? I'm waiting for version 12.7
I guess, because just a very few ppl mine with 560s, because they are not so efficient, so worthless to bother with it.

they are not so efficient as it is not optimized miner
They are not so efficient because they are weak. The bad thing is that 560s are the only available cards atm in stores, but ppl shouldn't really buy them for mining.

They are not very powerful. So if you consider the cost of the whole system, it is not good for mining.

how many sols should i get on rig with 6x380x from AMD, i'm thinking about make a rig, winter is coming. Wink
amd r9 380x gives around 280 - 340 sol/s based on bios and clocks, amd products are better for cryptonote a moded rx 480 can give around 750 - 1000 h/s.

I think rx 480 is not that fast.

if you live in a country with cheap electricity you can make some profit out of it.

The GPU mining is too competitive. It is only profitable if your electricity price is low.

I don't know what to say to you. Looks like China makes money on decisions and pumping of North America! Seems like it is really so. Must be we should to expect a new drop of the price after it's pumping this morning after huge investment into crypto-currency from the side of such giant as JP Morgan.

In the next three days, all the Chinese exchanges will be closed. So no more manipulation.
