I agree about the mining. It's an uphill battle, but people keep spending money on mining which gives the token its value. This project is going to last years, it may be a slow start, but it's still very early!

We've been able to mine for the last week at 1.2 gwei, so I have cut the pool fees in half. Thanks for all of the support everyone!

The name Bitcoin is probably due to the 21,000,000 mineable tokens. A Bitcoin implementation on Ethereum with a deflationary burn that provides a Store of Value.

I do tend to agree with you though, seeing the name Bitcoin automatically makes me question the legitimacy of any new coin. After digging into it I come to accept the name and understand the purpose of it, but I guess it wouldn't be my first choice either. I do love the project and community though, obviously.

Most people are calling it BSoV though, so it feels a bit better doing down.

Thanks! The pool beta has been an overwhelming hit and we may be forced to make it de-facto production at this point just to keep things kosher. The original idea was to stress test it and generate some funds, but without advertising it (we made this post after its success), we became the primary miner of blocks on the network quickly. Leading up to Friday's release, we will be incrementally lowering fees and preparing for the official launch at 8PM on Friday July 12th.

As of today, we have given back 2,500 BSOV to the miners in the form of 100 BSOV for each of the 25 participating miners. We have also transferred 2,500 to the BitcoinSoV community wallet (https://etherscan.io/address/0x88d97b2007e6aa6d728F003A32090C246EDf724E#tokentxns)

We will be launching one of our first public projects this week, a mining pool for BitcoinSoV -- A deflationary and mineable Ethereum token!

HashTables was originally interested in the new wave of deflationary tokens when we came across BitcoinSoV which seemed a little different from the rest. After auditing the contract and looking into the concept, we realized that the goals of the project aligned with ours (Decentralized, Fair Distribution, Good Community).

After being a part of the growing BSOV community, we decided to give a hand with the setup and operation of a mining pool. The pool has been tested over the last few days with increased pool & community fees, allowing us to fund the gas for the pool while allowing people with hashing power but no gas to get a share of BitcoinSoV. Funds raised from the public beta are to be used for funding of the pool as well as funding of the community wallet, which is to be used for promotion at our discretion (usually based on community vote).


We are officially launching the HashTables BSOV Mining Pool on Saturday July 13 @ 00:00 UTC (Friday 8PM ET)!
