Now you can set starting difficulty value by typing like "d=0.01" at worker's password.

This would help big hash miners to catch up to its own hardware limit faster than ever.

1. Run your miner program and check your difficulty value.
Keep in mind that difficulty value must be stabilized.
We recommend you to get difficulty value at least after 10 minutes of mining.

2. Set this difficulty value to worker's password as "d=XXXX"
   ex) d=0.0312
Do not write this value to miningpoolhub's worker page, just write it at miner configuration file.

3. Now run your miner program again.
You will see your miner running at the difficulty value you typed.

4. Difficulty value can go up and down again. It's not a bug.
d=XXX just gives us hint at start and it doesn't enforce diff value to be fixed.

Far wrong diff value may corrected automatically, but you'd better write optimized value.

Big hash miners who are using rentals, multi-algo, ASIC would get better result with difficulty hint.

Please can you to be more clear about point "2", I see that claymore setting the diff with number without "dot" example "52216", can you write an example string to put in the config file? Thanks in advance

good luck with it... I've yet to get the d=xxx to work on any of my antminers ... I've been hoping for them to get the Siacoin pool to work with the A3 but no luck there (it keeps setting the diff to 1 no matter what I put). If they would get it to work they could save the siacoin pool on MPH instead of having a dead pool in the list. In the mean time I'm sending 3.4TH to siamining.com waiting on MPH to get this to work. I guess that is why the scrypt and x11 also don't seem to get much traffic.

has anyone had any luck getting the A3 to work on the siacoin pool on MPH yet? or did MPH just completely give up on siacoin? I get it to connect for about 30 seconds at a time. When I set the pwd to d=127 or d=512 it does not set the diff. The A3 shows a diff of 1 when connecting to MPH. The A3 is the only antminer still showing good rates at almost $40 per day and it would be great to be able to use that on MPH.

Have used MHP for quite awhile and always been happy. Not sure this is the right forum but question for pool operator. I know there is a lag in the hash reporting. But I am running 6 rigs on Equihash at roughly 20K. Having a hard time finding any evidence (graphs, workers, etc) that I am getting anywhere near that. On certain coins some of the 6 workers don't ever show up. On Zcash I see all 6 and also see it go up close to 20. But on all the other 3 coins I only see 3 - 4 workers on the historic graph and 11K max. And appears like a brutally slow ramp up of hash on coin switch. All rigs are MRR and correctly pointed from a geo perspective. Have no manual diff settings. Is it all good or am I tossing hash away as can't see much going above 11K. If it's just a reporting issue then no issue. Main worker name same as handle here.

yeah something is wrong with MPH, me and my friends are having the same problem and you should try to move your cards on another algo.

We had a great (but short) run with this pool but its time to move our hashrate somewhere else since they cant fix this issue.

I actually found the answer to my question using the stats page with my api key - is giving much better results than the website pate. So far it appears it is hashing great. You should try it. Simple link to webpage - description is a page or two above but appears the internal site pages are not giving the correct stats.
https://miningpoolhubstats.com/USD/API_KEY  -  you api key is on your account page.

if you are using multiple rigs you should check out awesome miner... we use it and it supports MPH along with other pools. Its great to just look in one place and see the status of all equipment and hash rate as well as earnings estimates. They have a free version but I think it only supports 2 or 3 rigs... It also does profit switching where it will move to the best payout option. Our GPU rigs tend to stay on MPH, but our ASIC rigs don't work well on MPH so it moves it to other pools. Its nice that it automates much of this. (a lot less babysitting than I used to do)
Interesting you say that - I had similar feedback from a pool operator on a different multipool site. I have had a miserable time with Awesome Miner with Antminers. My problem above was largely based on rentals on MRR, but I do have about 10 rigs (4 S9, 4 L3+, 2 GPU). I purchased the pro version and it constantly freezes my Antminers when I allow it to go into privileged mode on the API. They will run for awhile, but then just freeze and get a blank screen on the web api and have to reboot. I have tried what I think is everything (hard resets, etc) but just can't get it working right. All the Antminers are current firmware (many very new). I have also found the pool management functionality for Antimers to be terrible - really hard to get pool groups working, can't change worker fields easily (password, etc). I must be missing something so am very open to suggestions. I find the native Antminer pool management to work pretty well on mulitipools. Some of them (including MHP) seem to be not very graceful when switching coins and drops the connection, however Antminer pretty quickly reverts back to it after a minute or so. On other pools I don't get a drop at all when switching coins. I haven't really used my GPU's much but the Awesome Miner functionality does seem great for those. Waiting to get my solar system finished (25K Kwh) before firing them up. At .4c Kwh it's cheaper to rent than run my own (except the L3s) until I go solar in a couple of weeks. One thought, and haven't tried this yet, is to use AM in restricted mode (not privileged mode) on the Antminers so i can still see status, etc in one place, and also use it on my Claymore's once they are up-and-running. I rarely have an issue with the Antminers anyway (aside from Awesome Miner). I appreciate the feedback and any thoughts or suggestions would be very welcome!

Dave

The only antminers I had an issue with in awesome miner was the S9 but I think that is due to the very long boot time with their auto adjust. AM works great with my L3s and D3s (try not to run those) ... I dont use it for switching on the A3s since there really is no difference what pool they use. I pretty much stay in MPH with my GPU rigs but it will change from time to time. try it with just your L3s and not the S9s... just change the password on the S9s and it wont be able to go into priv mode. I have our L3s going to 7 different pools and never had an issue with AM with them.

Can anyone help me calculate my miners difficulty for equihash and above option ?

I've yet to get this to work... I tried that on a A3 and it still set the diff to 1 which makes it fail and drop out of MPH... Still hopeful they will get the A3 to work with MPH (its the only way to mine Sia now) Without support for the A3 they might as well just take down the Sia pool on the site.

And I have had some Maxcoin (accidentally mined, my fault) in the Auto Exchange Wallet for a day or so.
Not sure if that is normal but all the other coins I have on Auto Exchange usually move to On Exchange pretty quickly.

I've had maxcoin and adzcoin in the auto-exchange for over a week. I think both are dead... the auto switching mined them, at least it a small amount.

Is MPH ever going to work with the antminer A3? it would much easier to use MPH instead of having to exchange the SC myself. Every time my A3 connects to MPH it works for about 20-30 seconds and then resets. could be the diff is not high enough. how can we set the diff or can you change it?

in the UI of the A3 is there a scheduled task tab? does it run a script called cgminer-monitor? if so put a # in front of the line and hit save and see if it works.

the cgminer-monitor is running but there are no settings in the admin for it. There are next to no settings for this like most antminers. basically you can put in 3 pools and change the freq of the chips and thats it. no real admin to these without ssh into it and searching for a way to change some of the settings. They work well connected to siamining.com but thats about it. MPH doesn't work and neither does NH. Its very limited on where you can mine with these. And the Blake2b only has one coin so its also limiting there. a lot of faith in Siacoin

no luck... when setting the password to "d=127" or "d=511" it shows the connected diff of 1... the two pools I do connect to well use those diff values. The miner just keeps resetting when connecting to stratum+tcp://hub.miningpoolhub.com:20550 (shows alive) and also stratum+tcp://hub.miningpoolhub.com:12019 (shows dead)

I've tried password of "d=511" and "x d=511" same result on both. Has anyone got a A3 to connect to MPH?

I have been mining Eth+Sia using Claymore from last 12 hours but I dont see Sia Balance credit in balance page or Sia Wallet. I am not using AutoExchange for now.
Worker shows correct hashrate and an active worker ofcourse but no balance credit. In the past, I didnt have this issue. Is there any bug hit recently?

dual mining SIA is over for me and Decred is apparently the best alternative.

For now... there is a Decred ASIC due out in June that is claiming 1500GH @ 500W... I'm still waiting/hoping MPH starts supporting the A3 for sia and bring the pool back to life

The "bug" is the Bitmain Antminer A3 ASIC for the Siacoin. The difficulty shot up so much over the past four days that a GTX 1060 6gb is down to earning about $0.02 per day trying to mine siacoin. I'm still waiting for MPH to support them as its pointless to use a GPU on their sia pool.

When the A3 came out it was mining at $500 per day... so the difficulty had to go up and it is leveling out a bit now at around $90 per day for the A3.

Does anyone from MPH actually look at this thread?

Still no answers about getting the Bitmain A3 to work on MPH... the current difficulty has gotten to the point that a GTX 1060 6gb will earn about $0.09 per day trying to mine Siacoin. It would be a waste of time for someone to try to mine with a GPU on the Blake2b algo... I am guessing that if MPH is not going to support the A3 they are going to just drop the sia pool all together. Nicehash at least answered the question just simply saying that they do not support the A3 and gave no further information about if they will. MPH should at least give a response.

If anyone else is on this chain and using a Bitmain ASIC L3+, feel free to message me.  Maybe we can work together to optimize our mining.

Noob.

I use Awesome Miner and the L3s never show anything from MPH so I let them go to 4 other pools.... My L3s go to zpool / hashrefinery / litcoinpool & nicehash ... all pay out about the same around $13-$18 per day... using awesome miner it will switch to the pool paying the best rates. The L3 is quickly going the way of the D3 and Bitmain had more L3s up for sale today so its only going to get worse.

doesnt look like their going to fix a3's on mph. i got a email saying the a3 doesn't support mph and i need to contact bitmain to have them support it. so i guess i won't be using mph anymore.

if they are not going to support the A3 they might as well just shut down that pool now. The difficulty has more than tripled in less than 2 days. A GTX 1060 6gb is 20x slower than one A3. Mining with GPUs on Blake2b is a waste of time and money unless you are using ASIC. and the makers of the dragonmint16T announced a Blake2b ASIC miner they are releasing that does 3.5TH at only 1000W which puts the A3 to shame already so these will follow the path of the D3 and become a nice space heater in about 4-5 months.

nicehash said the same... very limited on what pools you can use the A3 on and the diff has shot up over the last two days with all of them going online. I was seeing close to $500 per day now down to $250ish

antminer A3 cannot connect normally to server Sad Sad Sad

I think we have a Vardiff maximum difficulty issue.    From how things look,  the minimum difficulty on the siacoin pool is set to 1.  I think A3s are solving so many diff 1 shares so fast that the server is disconnecting thinking it's a flood.

Miningpoolhub, any way you can look at this?  Siacoin is in desperate need of pool diversity right now.

My A3 is getting 127 difficulty from other pools.

mine are doing both 512 and 127 diff and working fine on another pool. Can't get it to connect to MPH or Nicehash... if I put MPH in the config it wont even start the miner even for the failover pools. It would be great if they get MPH to work so I can use the auto exchange instead of mining to an exchange and have to move it myself.

if i look in my transaction log from sia

2018-01-22 09:24:05 (UTC)1390570.31207565

today i started mining around 9:20 UTC and farmed till 15:20 UTC but i anly see 3 blocks in the transactions. the eth is getting blocks every few min so the miner is working and sending stuf to mph.

is there any thing i am doing wrong or is it normal for siacoin to take so long to results?

the dashboard on mph website for siacoin is seeing the hashrate i am doing on the miner

using awesomeminer with mph

I would expect to start seeing a drop off in Siacoin... Bitmain started shipping the A3 miner today that does Siacoin at 815GH ... so the diff is going to shoot through the roof

MPH Sia pool will support the Antminer A3 ASIC?

you ordered one too ?

I am hoping they support it... It says Siacoin pool is blake-vanilla not Blake2b... it says it does support stratum mining so I am hopeful... I would like to have this as an option instead of nicehash or siamining as MPH will auto exchange coins.

Blissz,
I think you should take the binaries offline and let these people fend for themselves. By using the scare tactics these people are only harming them selves. Did Bitmain share their software with the people? They used CGMiner software on D3 as well. Thank you for your wonderful work.

It's a shame it never got to a stable v2 for this... but I agree that Blissz should not give up the code. Why do any of this and not be compensated for the work. I thank him for what he did already and he should just let the rest use the D3 as the space heater it has become. The version I have is stable enough that I will keep it along with many others in this thread and Blissz will keep getting the devfee from us (even thou its only about $0.07 a day per unit). He would need at least 100 units running the devfee to make up having one unit to himself. again I say don't release it and just take it down and let these people who couldn't do it on their own to keep running the standard D3... it is barely making them any money at this point and they might just shut them off helping the rest of us with this FW.
