Re: Where do you find interesting ICO ?

Where do you find interesting ICO or crypto projects to invest ? Here on bitcointalk announcements or on other websites related to new ICO  announcements !
I am looking for information from social media and the community to get the information needed to choose ico and I research the ico before entering the ico
There are so many sources. I get my information from bitcointalk, ICObench, ICOtracker, ICOcountdown. Most reliable info is on here, because people share their own uncorrupted experiences and assessments.

Don't just believe everything you read on ICO bench. it would be best to do some research outside such websites just to be sure since they are not decentralized and could be bribed for the right price.

On the other hand, an ICO listing marketplace called Menlo One is launching soon within this year. I think this solves corruption issues that traditional web applications face since Menlo One's platform is decentralized. Whitepaper: https://www.menlo.one/

The problem right now is that the number of legit projects are overwhelmed by the fake ones. This scenario gives a bad image to the whole ICO industry, creating a stigma to investors that all of the projects are scam or will just turn out as scam. Plus the fact that I think most of the review site out there is corrupted, they tend to give a good review for the right price. There's a new upcoming platform would like to counteract on this things they are called menlo.one I hope they will not turnout as one of them.

I thought this project had already launched last month. What's causing the delay? Was there an announcement about it?

You can sign up and get whitelisted. Not sure why they postponed their launch. I was hoping to see how their ICO marketplace platform would look like...

I've already suggested that they support more coins such as Doge and Waves. Not even sure why we need to make suggestions when they can automatically add these coins at their own discretion. Giving them the benefit of the doubt since it's only been 3 months + since their launch.

Totally agree. They've already got most of the major tokens integrated, I wonder what's the hold-up in adding other coins that have a significant number of supporters/users?

Try contacting their team through telegram. Last update I got was that they were working on adding more coins, but could not provide an eta.

Investing in Bitcoin is not a bad thing, but it would be wise not to put all your money into Bitcoin alone as that would be the stupid move. My point is, all assets and investments have risks and crypto currency is the riskiest of them all.

Share your private key by mistake and your Bitcoin is surely going to disappear within seconds. What's worse is that your Bitcoin is not insured and there's no way of retrieving it.

a perfect life is ultimately dependent on the people around you rather than material possessions. If you are living in harmony with your family and friends (which is unlikely for most people since there will always be conflicts), then I'd say that it's a great life you are living.

I believe that the blockchain technology is the thing that will change our entire system (financial, data storage, etc) as we know it. This doesn't mean that all cryptocurrencies can be trusted though...

I'm currently at PayBear's page right now and looking at the fee comparison against PayPal and stripe. With fees that are 204x cheaper, I'm really hoping that many merchants will have us customers in mind and give Paybear a try..

The fact that Bitcoin payments and holdings aren't covered by insurance is already a risk businesses or even individuals need to consider... I don't blame businesses that try to keep safe..

I think social media influences Bitcoin in a positive way since it enables people to discuss what's going on with Bitcoin to newcomers and those interested to join.

Pretty impossible for Bitcoin to replace the dollar anytime soon or within the foreseeable future since govts would never allow it unless they can somehow regulate Bitcoin or cryptos in general.

I don't go all in especially when holding funds of more than $5,000.. I practically leave only a portion for trading and roughly 80% goes to long term holding.

I really like Bitcoin because of its security and the fact that it has so many miners makes it nearly impossible to be hacked...

Re: Is it advisable to download wallet in external hard drive?
by

on 17/01/2018, 15:07:18 UTC
I wouldn't. The main problem isn't with the compatibility, etc. In fact, most of the wallets do actually offer a portable version. The main issue is with the security.

If you're going to bring the portable wallet around, you could very well be losing it if you forget to bring it along after using it on the computer. Public computers aren't exactly safe at all, using your wallet on it could very well have it being compromised. If you need portability, consider getting a mobile wallet on your phone; doesn't address the first point but it addresses the second.

A portable hard drive is relatively heavy and unreliable at times. It's not rational to be bringing around a bulky metallic case when your main function is to have a portable wallet. Hard drive (not SSDs) are very prone to failure if you drop them.

I appreciate the insight about the topic. What about hardware wallets? Since they are made specifically to store crypto coins, are they still not adviseable to some extent?

Everything is red, is it bubble burst? What should we do? I lost almost a half till now. Sell or hodl?

Ah, you are losing almost half so there is no need to sell. That is selling with a very big loss already. That is not a wise thing to do. Just take your time to sit back, relax, and perhaps learn to try to enjoy this rough ride. This has always been a rollercoaster ride ever since. You should have learned to enjoy this crypto world of ours. I have learned to get used to it already. There are red days as there are green days. We are in the red right now. The green will follow soon.

I really agree that too much paper loss will be too painful to cut.. Just hold and forget about it for a while.. Meanwhile, I'll be waiting at the bottom for prices to bounce.

IF you just bought in and are currently at a negative, I would recommend selling as soon as possible and wait for prices to bounce back from major support levels before buying back.

Re: Can Bitcoin Hold?

I just started out investing in Bitcoin a couple months ago and I honestly don't know the difference between Bitcoin then from the Bitcoin now. What I can say is that I am slightly regretting my decision in buying too much Bitcoin as I thought that it would be possible to conveniently pass it around.
