"Most other exchanges do not use the complex security we have."

I have to admit that nobody has yet tried to steal the All Seeing Giant Pointing-north Coin Eye on the east wall watching over Cryptsy's empty vault looking west as Cryptsy goes south.

LOL nice.

Even if they got everything back to what it was before, won't care and won't trust - this has given us time to look around, to see what other operations are more deserving - to realize that Cryptsy gouged its customers.  I mean, Big Vern?  .. sounds like a wannabe *h*le  who created an a*o*e company, a company which now deserves to burn.

I bet this fiasco is them still trying to pay off their Mintsy fail - what a bloody joke that was.

If you're considering linking bank accounts and signing on for Cryptsy ATM cards or whatever the h they are trying to sell now - shake your head until you see straight.

After Cryptsy, where would you say is the best exchange for altcoins / bitcoin trading?

Good experience at alcurex.org at the moment (there because they are moving CSC, which for me is very profitable) .. and BTC withdrawal fees are HALF what the thieves at Crypty were charging - in fact that is the case in most places.  Poloniex is also good .. no b*.  then maybe Bittrex.

Actually, It does not mean I have access to the wallet code.   Our wallet status page ( with no accessible code)  lists the version number and block of the wallet we are on.  This allows customer service agents to see if they need to report a chain that is off or something when comparing to current block on explorer.  You are twisting words to make what you want, but you are dead wrong. In this case, I assume someone asked if we were on the current version. I asked for source of coin to see if it was wallet version we were on. Simple as that. Sorry, no conspiracy for you today Sad Sorry to disappoint.

What 'exactly' is going on then, Vern?  If you send an email to your tech monkies .. if you have any .. what is the exact verbiage that you get back in email, describing what the * is the issue?  Certainly you have done that .. and certainly they have replied, and certainly they haven't said .. "we have no f***g clue!"

The sad fact is, withdrawals are purposefully delayed, the money is undoubtedly being jacked for other purposes while BTC is high .. and you figure it will drop and you can use re-purchased BTC at a lower rate to fulfill those withdrawals, or simply start to burn one person to pay another, which most failed crypto operations do just before they disappear.

You are sadly mistaken. I wish I did know what was going on, it would make it better for me as well. Why would I know what is going on? as you quoted, I have never had access to any wallets or any code. I work investigations which at no point requires access to either of those departments. Jshock is Customer Service Manager so he would have access to none of that either. I am giving BigVern the benefit of the doubt for as long as I can because he has always been extremely good to me. At the end of the day, regardless of what is going on, I still have to do my work, people have hacked accounts, stuff need investigating. I can just hope they figure it out. I still have faith, but I am biased. If you're going to go all crazy on me and make accusations like this, at least let me give you a link on how to fold a proper tinfoil hat. instructables .com/id/Aluminum-Foil-Hat/

You're the f*** who closed my account and stole my coin, immediately after I made a comment about Poloniex being a better option to the now TOTAL FAIL that is Cryptsy.  Someone made some bad deals on dark net or some s***, and now you're delaying withdrawals in order to use our money to pay for it.  Clearly this has nothing to do with technical failure - absolute *s.  You are very much a part of it man .. who are you trying to **** here?

They have locked my account and stole what was remaining in my account, including a relatively large withdrawal that was pending since Dec 23rd.

They are not suffering technical problems folks!!!

The delayed withdrawals is money they are spending .. perhaps it is short term need, or str8 up theft ..  seems they are simply transitioning into a Scrypt.cc-style ponzi - new deposits fund delayed withdrawals - periodically a withdrawal will disappear, and when you complain enough, your account will be closed without warning.

Cryptsy .. Scrypt.cc .. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same mfers.  Anyone dumb enough to give Mintsy money?  Their baby too .. how'd that work out for ya?

A few good alternative exchanges ..

alurEX
poloniex
bittrex
bluetrade

Good luck!
